Another of my dnd characters! This is my Champion Fighter, Crixus, and again, his story is under the cut!
The setting of the campaign is Ancient Rome and my boy Crixus is a gladiator. However, he’s not Roman, he’s Greek, and his real name is actually Laios. He was taken as a slave when he was young but eventually, his owner ended up selling him to fight in the pits.
The Romans didn’t expect much of a no-name teenager, but Laios refused to let himself die for their pleasure and fought with everything he had. He defeated his opponent, carving a giant X on his chest in an attempt to send a message to the Romans, but it seemed to fly right over their heads; Crixus, they named him and cheered for him, fight after fight. By the start of the campaign, he was already somewhat infamous.
However there are more important things going on in the world; the Greek Gods are dying, Mount Vesuvius is about to erupt, and it seems only Crixus and his fellow adventurers can put a stop to it all.

My (adorable) neutral evil Halfling Rogue, Vani. More about her under the cut!
Honestly, Vani is a darling (if you’re someone she likes, at least); she’s sunny, curious, and just all-around a fun time. As a result, however, the Halfling lifestyle felt incredibly boring to her and so she set out on her own to explore the world when she was in her early 20s; thankfully, being as light on her feet as she is and lacking any sort of moral compass whatsoever meant she did pretty well for herself.
She took all kinds of odd jobs, more for the thrill of it rather than the money, and on one of those, she eventually met two of her future companions. They successfully completed the job, in the process finding out they worked well together, and ended up teaming up.
A little over a decade later, the three receive a note from an old contact, calling them back for an unusual job.

A little headshot of my D&D character’s wife, Theia Duval. (At this point I might just be as in love with her as he is.) Her story under the cut!
Okay so this lovely lady is an Aasimar. Her name is Theia Nara’il, later Duval, and she’s one of the kindest, most gentle souls to ever exist. She met my character who was working as an investigator at the time when she sought his help to find a stolen heirloom (a music box she’d received from her grandmother) and as a result, the two spent a lot of time together. Once the job was finished, he asked her out and the rest is so to speak history.
Theia is also very righteous and always aimed to right any wrongdoing she became aware of. While not a fighter, she had a way with words; she worked on gathering evidence on any misconduct she knew of and in the end compiled it all in articles she published.
A few years before the start of the campaign, Theia and her husband (a.k.a. my character) were killed. He ended up coming back to life but has no idea what happened to Theia; currently, his main goal is finding her.
