Her kin had been lucky enough to avoid such things recently, but the other members of the aquatic community hadn't been. She knew someone had been hurt by a boat, but not exactly who. If the injury required a witch for healing it must have been pretty bad. "How many scales are you going to need for this spell? If I give them to you, you will owe me a favor. I will call you for it when I need it and you do not get to deny me what I request unless it is impossible."

The siren couldn't help laughing at the squeak. "So it looks like you can swim." Clearly he hadn't been expecting the water to be quite that cold. Xeha had only said that it was calm and nice, not warm. It was a comfortable temperature for her though.

She watched the blond swim closer. At the question about her scales she became as wary of him as he was of her. Maybe she would need to do something more than playfully hold him under while he tried to grab his sea weed. "Unlike birds and lizards we do not molt. Scales are only shed when they are damaged, or we are injured or very sick."

He was clearly uncomfortable. Good. Xeha knew he was up to something, but wasn't fully sure what. He was right though. Washed up seaweed didn't have the same zing needed for most magic. It also wasn't always the freshest or in the best condition. Whatever he was after she would make sure he didn't take too much of. This was her cove and she wanted to keep it nice.
