ā€œYou’re trained in triage, right?ā€ Remus started. He kept his eyes on the opposite wall. ā€œAnd how, when disasters happen, there are some people you shouldn’t try to save. Some people you can’t save?ā€ She nodded, slowly. ā€œI’m one of those people. The ones you shouldn’t try and save.ā€
ā€œI’m not trying to save you, Remus. I’m trying to love you.ā€

I will not accept other ending
I am aware that there was no space in this movie for a kiss since they were both fighting to accept themselves and the bases for any romantic involvement were cut short, also in the last scene he had just betrayed her so a kiss would have felt rushed and not sincere but out of desperation. EITHEEEER WAY, I really wanted to see them together 🤧🤧

(Part 1? lol)This got more ridiculous than I intended but here we are, a little rujinu aquarium date shenanigan inspired by @galaxyspeaking ā€˜s great aquarium date concept! I have a part 2 sketched out that’s more romantic and sappy but we’ll see if and when I get to it 🐠

Being a Lupin Lover in 2025: a Shock!
I've always been a huge Potterhead and Lupin Lover. I wrote fanfiction about Remus Lupin before it was cool. The books were still coming out.
I spent years hating "Harry Potter", because Remus died in the last book. He was the soul of it for me, and losing him felt personal.
When I came back to the fandom, everything had changed.
Fanfiction had become mainstream... and not always in a good way.
Suddenly there were subfandoms like "the Slytherin Boys" and "the Marauders" (who exist in aesthetic moodboards more than they ever did in canon).
There were people treating fanon as gospel, and entire ships that rewrote core characters to fit trends.
And then... there was The Ship Which Must Not Be Named (Remus and Sirius 🤫🤐)
Let me be clear: the W*lfstar phenomenon didn’t just make me uncomfortable. It broke something in me. Because it erased everything I found validating in Remus.
As someone who is grey aroace, Remus was a quiet, deeply personal symbol: of restrained affection, of non-normative love, of choosing kindness over chaos.
And now that version of him (my version of him, the one the author actually wrote) is being replaced by a manic-pixie dream-werewolf who makes out with Sirius every ten seconds and never emotionally matured past age 17. And if I say anything? If I gently point out canon People go mental.
They flood official HP accounts. They spam David Thewlis’ Instagram. A literal reporter asked him about the ship.
Even Pinterest can’t post a Remus, Remadora (God forbid someone actually ships Remus with his Canon wife and only love!) or even just Tonks photo without being swarmed.
Let’s call it what it is: harassment. Or, if you're feeling mild: an absolute lack of fandom etiquette.
And the worst part? The people who love the real Remus (the layered, flawed, deeply human man JKR cried while writing) are made to feel like we’re wrong for still loving him. For missing him. For recognizing him.
Ship what you like. Headcanon freely. That’s what fandom is for.
But don’t gaslight those of us who remember the books.
Don’t call it ā€œinterpretationā€ — much less "representation"! — when it’s actually erasure.
I knew who he was before all the edits. And I’ll still be here, loving the real Remus Lupin (tired, polite, traumatised, quietly heroic) when the trends pass.
So… I came back to the Harry Potter fandom after years away. I was excited. A little wistful. And then I saw him. Remus Lupin. Everywhere.
I thought: "Wow. They remember him. They love him too. How cool is that?"šŸ˜
And then… I read the posts and realized: "Oh. They don’t love Remus. They love some kind of golden/amber eyes and sweater-wearing chaos gremlin with commitment issues, a nicotine addiction, and a soundtrack by The Smiths. Oh, and a teenager.
Let’s get one thing straight: Remus John Lupin was a gentle, wounded, kind-hearted man with enormous self-control, a dry sense of humor, and the moral backbone of a thousand wizards.
He loved once. He taught with empathy. He aknowledged when he was wrong. He thought he was unworthy of love, but he gave it anyway.
He died trying to make the world safer for his son, even when he was terrified of becoming a father.
But somewhere along the way, fandom shoved him into a grungy little Marauders-era box, slapped on a cigarette, erased half his personality, made him weirdly passive-aggressive, and said: "Yes. This is the one.ā€ šŸ„øšŸ¤“šŸ‘½
Honestly? As a neurospicy woman who always had Remus Lupin as a comfort character and wrote fanfiction where I was always worried about keeping him — and everyone else — on character... it hurts.
Because the Remus I love, the one who quietly shaped lives, who held so much sorrow and still chose kindness, is barely recognizable in today’s fandom.
Because apparently nuance isn’t aesthetic enough for TikTok edits.
And the worst part? When I do speak up about canon, I’m called a ā€œpuristā€ or ā€œboringā€ or ā€œnot fun.ā€
Listen, I’m neurodivergent. I’m grey aroace. I am the soft-spoken weirdo who over-apologizes and masks until I break.
Remus isn’t just a character to me: he’s validation. He’s the first time I saw someone like me in a story that mattered. So yeah. I’m a little protective.
If you love the Ship Which Must Not Be Named, fine. Ship what you like. But don’t pretend it's Canon and don't rewrite Remus’s soul and tell me I’m wrong for missing him. I know who he is. I’ve always known.
And if anyone needs me, I’ll be in the library, drinking tea, quietly judging, and crying into "Hogwarts: A History."
Your Fandom Auntie, too old for fandom drama, still here anyway.

Things About Remus Lupin That Fandom Keeps Forgetting
We talk a lot about Remus Lupin’s kindness. And yes, he’s kind. Devastatingly kind. Gentle. Wise. A quiet anchor in a chaotic world. But what we don’t talk about enough is how much rage he holds under that surface. How much control it takes to look kind, when so much has been taken from you.
Remus Lupin is not just kind. He’s furious, and he’s hilarious, and he’s deeply sad. And he wraps all that mess in a threadbare cardigan and a polite smile like a bomb disguised as a paperback novel.
Let’s talk about the coldness.
That icy, polite coldness when he’s suppressing something monstrous inside him, like when he wants to kill Peter — or rather spare him the Dementor's Kiss — but won’t let himself feel it too loudly, so it comes out sharp, flat. Or when he leaves Tonks during her pregnancy, fully convinced that being noble means being cruel to himself. That’s how he survives the unspeakable: by shutting the door between his heart and his face. You don’t make it to 38 as a werewolf in the wizarding world without mastering that mask.
And the dry humour. Merlin, it’s lethal.
"No one is hiding Sirius Black under their cloaks. Move along."
"Wadiwasi!" — casually shooting gum into Peeves’ nose.
ā€œI thought ā€˜The Chosen One’ would be enough for you.ā€
ā€œNot a very popular guest at dinner parties.ā€
And when young Remus, talking about a question on a DADA test on how to identify a werewolf, quips:
ā€œOne: he’s sitting in my chair. Two: he’s wearing my clothes. Three: his name is Remus Lupin.ā€ That’s not just humour; that’s pain disguised as punchline. That’s a kid surviving shame with wit.
And while we’re here... can we PLEASE talk about how absurdly powerful he is?
This man cast a Patronus and conjured flames with his bare hands at the same time without a wand or words. Two advanced spells. Simultaneously. Silently. In control. While barely awaken.
Let’s be clear: the Patronus charm is hard. It’s fueled by happy memories. And Remus? Remus doesn’t have a bank of golden moments to draw from. His life is loss layered on loss. And yet he does it. Effortlessly. That’s not just skill. That’s willpower. That’s raw, terrifying strength.
And let’s talk about how Remus Lupin always knows what to say.
And no, not in the ā€œmanipulative Slytherinā€ fanon kind of way. I’m talking about deep, strategic empathy, the kind you only learn when you've spent a lifetime navigating how people fear you, reject you, or pity you.
He doesn't just speak well — he listens first. Then he shifts your perspective with a sentence.
Examples? Let’s go:
To Snape in Prisoner of Azkaban:
"You fool... is a schoolboy grudge worth putting an innocent man back in Azkaban?"
— Not ā€œyou’re wrong.ā€ Not ā€œstop.ā€ He reframes the stakes. Makes Snape look in a mirror. That’s surgical.
To Harry when he catches him with the Marauder’s Map:
ā€œYour parents gave their lives to keep you alive, Harry. A poor way to repay them — gambling their sacrifice for a bag of tricks.ā€
— He doesn’t yell. He doesn’t shame. He brings Harry’s own values into sharp focus and holds them up like a compass.
To Molly, when she breaks down over her Boggart:
ā€œWhat would we do to your kids if anything happened to you? Let them starve?ā€
— It’s funny. It’s tender. It’s so smart. He doesn’t dismiss her fear — he includes himself in the imaginary consequence, showing her that she’s not alone, and never has been.
Remus uses humour as a balm. He uses language as a bridge. He doesn’t control people; he guides them. That’s leadership, not manipulation.
And the irony? Most of the time, he can’t offer himself the same grace.
He knows exactly how to make other people feel worthy, safe, seen. But when it comes to himself, that voice is silent. That wisdom doesn’t reach inward. That’s what makes him so devastating.
He’s not flawless. He screws up. He leaves. He represses. But when you zoom out, Remus Lupin is the person everyone turns to when they need to understand something painful. And he always delivers. Quietly. Calmly. Sharply.
Remus doesn't just fight darkness. He translates it. And then he hands you the map.
Remus Lupin is not soft. He is sharp. Controlled. Bitingly funny. Brutally intelligent. Crushingly lonely. And yes, kind. But in the way a steel blade is kind when it spares a life.
He's the kind of man who apologizes for existing and still manages to save everyone else.
He burns quietly. But make no mistake: he burns.
Remus John Lupin was never just a cardigan and a sad smile. He was a storm wrapped in gentleness.

Remus/Tonks Fanfic Recommendations!
I've been hoarding Remus/Tonks fanfics like a dragon on treasure for years at this point, SO I've made a spreadsheet full of recommendations.
It's a Google Sheets you can find HERE!!!
The spreadsheet is split into Oneshots and Multi-chapter fics, and pretty much everything on there is completed.Ā [I might make a section for WIPs, if anyone would be interested in that?]. There are about 50 or so recommendations on there right now, but I'll keep adding to it, etc..
I'm sure I've missed some incredible fics, so if there's any you think should absolutely be on the list that's not, let me know!

✨ Remadora✨ FanFiction Archive
Tumblr media
Hey, fellow✨Remadora✨lovers!
I’ve recently updated my Google Drive with all the Remadora fanfics I’ve collected over the years — and it has turned into a massive archive!
I'm sharing it because I know how hard it can be to track down good fics, especially ones that disappear over time. Hope this helps the fandom out! šŸ’œšŸŗšŸ’œ
Most are organized by author, while some are grouped together. Everything is in EPUB format, so you can easily read them on Calibre, Apple Books, Kindle, or your favorite e-reader app.
🌟 Bonus: I’ve also created a separate folder for the Classics and the Best of the Best — the ones I absolutely love and always go back to. These are beautifully written, deeply in-character, and just hit all the right notes. Of course, they’re also sorted by author!
Whether you're revisiting old favorites or diving into new ones, I hope this archive makes it easier to enjoy our favorite chaotic metamorphmagus and her brooding werewolf.
Here is the link
šŸ“Ž ✨ Remadora FanFiction Archive ✨
Feel free to reblog and share with other Remadora fans, so gets a short at finding their favourite fic! šŸ™Œ And if you find a new fave in there, let me know — I love talking fic šŸ’•

40 Lines Isn’t Love: Why Remus Watching Sirius Wasn’t W*lfstar
Let’s talk about Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and fandom rewriting canon beyond recognition.
You’ve probably heard the argument:
ā€œRemus and Sirius were in love! In Order of the Phoenix, Remus spends 40 lines looking at Sirius!ā€
I’m sorry, but are we really using ā€œhe looked at himā€ as undeniable proof of a romantic relationship?
Let’s be real for a second. Remus spends a lot of time watching Sirius in OotP, not because he’s in love, but because he knows exactly what Sirius is like when he’s unstable. Sirius was isolated, bitter, reckless, and emotionally stuck in his teenage mindset. Remus wasn’t looking at him with longing, he was monitoring him!!
He was watching for signs of escalation. And when Sirius does snap— at Molly, at Snape —Remus steps in. He de-escalates. That’s not romantic tension, for Merlin's sake! That’s damage control from someone who’s seen this behavior before.
And let’s not forget: Sirius already had a deep, emotional attachment with someone: James. They were inseparable. Teachers, classmates, and even Madam Rosmerta commented on it. Sirius and James were so close they invented two-way mirrors just to talk when they were in detention. Remus was never part of that picture. Not in that inner circle, not in that mirror.
But somehow, fandom decided Remus was Sirius's great love?šŸ¤ÆšŸ¤”šŸ˜³
Let’s also address how the fandom rewrites Sirius into a character that’s... just not who he is in the books.
Canon Sirius was:
• A rebellious pureblood who rejected his family’s values.
• A bad boy with long hair and a motorcycle.
• Someone who decorated his room with bikini posters.
• The kind of popular, impulsive, ā€œalphaā€ type who ignored the girl swooning over him.
• The living stereotype of the '70s rock-and-roll rebel.
But in many fanfics, he’s rewritten as a soft, flamboyant, eyeliner-wearing, queer-coded prince. Which is fine as an AU, but it’s not canon Sirius. And when people push this as fact and then bully anyone who disagrees? That’s where it becomes a problem.
Let’s be honest:
You can love your ships. But don’t gaslight people about canon.
Not everything has to be romance. Concern, grief, and friendship exist too.
