i met one of my aunt's archaeologist friends/colleagues earlier today & he was telling me about legends that not too far from here there's the ghosts of a roman legion that people see walking up the cliff towards the edge of the sea and then off the edge of the cliff and onwards, because the coastline has receded so much since roman times that the 'land' they're used to walking on goes on far past the point it falls into the sea today. and like. OUGH. I don't even strictly believe in that type of ghost but I'm Obsessed with this image of them still interacting with landscape that has crumbled into the sea & completely disappeared over the thousands of years since they were alive. ghost landscapes Real

I always felt closer to God/the universe when I was by myself in nature but I saw my childhood best friend tonight for the first time in years and hearing her sing in church made me understand what people mean when they say they could feel God's presence within those 4 walls

GoT idea ahead

So I've heard the whole "dany hatched the dragons through blood magic/sacrifice" right and I have a half baked thought about how the series ending could have gone.

We've seen that her dragons particularly drogon and her have a very special slightly out of the norm bond right guys so what if that's partly because of the way they were brought into the world. We also know/have heard that when she does drogon takes her body back to old valyria but what if that's because she's not like DEAD DEAD more like in a near death stasis type of thing. What if when she hatched the dragons it affected her as well in such a way that as long as one of the dragons is living then she can't fully die but isn't fully whole either and drogon takes her to old valyria to bring her back via dragon fire. Taking her body to somewhere safe somewhere the magic of the dragons is strong and breathing life back into her. Like having a life bond between her and the 3 dragons would even make her actions near the end of the season that much more understandable because then it's on the context of 2 of her dragons are dead 2 pieces of her life/soul are ripped away brutally of course she's going crazy of course she's rapidly escalating in her descent to madness her essence of being that was equally shared between her and her dragons now rests on her and drogon and she's SPLITTING AT THE SEAMS

Shoutout to everyone who understands that special interests are a love language.

To my mum, when she saw me fighting back tears on the way to the hospital and asked “Now, who was Elrond’s dad again?” and then let me infodump the whole ride there To my best friend, every time I would laugh and flap my hands and infodump and she would respond with “you look beautiful when you talk about LOTR, Cal”

To my sibling, who has watched the 12 hour movies at least five times over with me because they know it makes me happy

To my online friends, who comment on my fanfics and reblog my posts and ask me questions

To my roommate, when I went through two huge hyperfixations which increased the power of my special interests and she spent hours asking me questions and looking at the things I showed her

Special interests are just that—special. And I’m so grateful for people who understand that these things bring me joy and make life worth living, and who encourage me to be happy even if it doesn’t fit their own definition of happiness.

It's important to me that everyone understands that if you've got an autistic friend who periodically sends you pictures/videos/whatever of your Thing, because they know you're into it... They love you.

Now don't get me wrong, It may not necessarily be romantic love, they might not want to run off to a little farm in Montana where you'll be married forever and raise little sheeps...

But they definitely love you. And they're so happy when they spot a post about X and go "ooh, my friend likes X! I'll send it to them!".

Because they love you and want you to be happy.

“i used to live there” is such a sad phrase. seeing places u used to live in is an odd thing. It’s like ‘i know where the best hiding place is in there. my bedroom was the one directly to the left as you walk in. i took my first steps on that flooring. i used to play in that yard with my grandma. she died two years ago. that was the only place i ever knew. those walls contain all of my childhood memories. i can no longer go there, but i know every corner like the back of my hand.’

Actually my favorite replacement for both 'kill myself' jokes and jokes about reacting violently to things/people that upset me is "I'm going to end up on the news" like it's versatile, it's vague, it's not going to get me in trouble with any censors or websites that take joke threats seriously, it's family friendly while still getting the point across, what's not to love???
