it’s also kind of funny that while iris considers her actions to be justified, she wouldn’t ever tell a ‘hero’ willingly what she’s doing because a part of her knows that her way of doing things will never be approved by anyone and especially not by those the world considers heroes... at the same time, they fascinate her endlessly and she idealizes them to a certain degree? if she can, she will insert herself into their lives and try to learn from them... only what she learns will be twisted into a way to help her achieve what she feels is needed, and therefore the original teachings will basically be bastardized extremely when applying them to her own performance...

while iris started acting as ‘tormentra’ to go after those that persecuted her, this quickly evolved into a far bigger objective of ridding the world of all bullies... only her actions to achieve this goal fuel even more hurt and anger within others and it becomes a never ending cycle because of this? not only do her actions affect others, all the torment and anguish she takes for herself also chips away at her and makes it so she’s more paranoid and judgemental... her intentions are honourable but her behaviour is anything but... in her mind she holds the moral high ground and she doesn’t think that what she’s doing is wrong despite the fact that she’s literally killing people to achieve her mission

“       eddie brock.    we have to stop meeting like this.       ”       ryker’s island was known for its illustrious occupants        &      its detestable treatment towards them.    it helped fuel their desperation.   their crimes often committed from a place of torment      [  . . .  ]     now,    that anguish seemed to thrive.  the other was a prime example of this.    she’d seen him frequently since his imprisonment,    his violent tendencies landing him opposite her more often than not.   for the prison,   a nuisance.   for her,   a delicious meal.  she enjoyed their little talks:   even when most of them had proven fruitless in changing his behaviour.     “        i heard you’re being moved to another cell.    how are you feeling about this?    do you want to talk about what led to the change?    ”

her fingers tap a rhythm on the steel table,    soft eyes imploring as she questions him.   it wasn’t like she didn’t care about eddie brock’s recovery.   she became a psychologist to help people      [  . . .  ]     just in another way than what was expected of one.  the notepad underneath her hands remains closed.  genuine curiosity present in her stature.   she can taste his misery on her tongue.   the energy crackles beneath her palms,   yet she takes only a little.  this was only the start of their meeting,   after all.   there was time.
