I'm going through old photos I've taken since we've moved onto our acreage, and I have to say five years later. This is still one of my absolute favorites.

Long Exposure Photos Of Fireflies in Japan
By Yume Cyan (photos 1-6) and Yuki Karo (photos 7-10)
According to Wikipedia, there are more than 2,000 species of fireflies, but despite their name, only some species produce adults that glow. These lightning bugs produce the most efficient light in the world – nearly 100 percent of the energy in the chemical reaction is emitted as light. You can usually take such surreal photographs during the rainy seasons, from June to July, when fireflies mate after thunderstorms.
