Marionette
I struggled for a long time about this piece as well as many other pieces in this class and other art classes. When it comes to “artist’s choice” assignments, especially by the end of a semester, I question who I am as an artist. I ruminate on every little detail trying to think of an authentic piece. Am I doing this because this is an idea that I want to or because this is what would get me a good grade? Is this my style as an artist? Do I have a style? Am I an artist? Is this the right path for me? These are the questions that come to mind with any assignment I do related to art. These are my insecurities about this path that I wish to continue down because, in the end, I love this.
My idea for this was to express that feeling of uncertainty and anxiousness by tying a pencil to my hand with thread. I drew 1,000 lines. 500 of those lines were done of my own volition; the remaining lines were done by someone purposefully going against the established pattern by using the string tied to my hand to guide the pencil like a puppet.

Artist Statement.
Through my super cut “Bring it On” wanted to elevate these fight scenes through use of hip hop. Anime and Hip hop mesh rather well and i wanted to demonstrate it. The song Bring da Ruckus” changes the whole feeling of these fight scene from an epic an gloomy battel to a rather energetic one.
I chose to do this super cut Because I rather enjoy meshing the musical cues with element of motion. I found that the right musical or song selection can determine the overall felling of a scene. I would like to explore this felid further in my future endeavors but for now i how you all enjoy.

“PosiBodyTivity”
Artist Statement:
For this performance piece I wanted to demonstrate the correlation between body image and the way others perceive you. Many people become discouraged from exercise because they are anxious over the way they think they look. People will want to paint a portrait of who you are when you’re just trying to improve yourself. If i had the space and resources i would have liked to smear myself over a large surface area; ie. white wall or large canvas. Never did anything like this before.

Artist’s Statement
Over the last few months I have been learning about techniques used by directors in the 20th century, mainly Alfred Hitchcock. I wanted to use his technique from Psycho and apply it with a more modern theme about depression and self harm. I wanted to show that these feelings we have today aren’t new for humanity and that we need to focus on helping people who suffer from these thoughts and actions. No matter who they are.

One minute performance. Struggles of life , the priority lift.
Artist statement
During this Project I decided to categorize my time. it came up in to 3 different categories work, art ,and fun. this is ,of course, excluding other’s such as friends, family and so on. The three categorizes can get so over whelming that i tend to blow off social events in favor for time to meditate or just be alone. however i struggle with the balancing of these three aspects of my time. as the can conflict with each other forcing me to exclude one. I focuses on these three aspects cause they help me balance my mental state. I see them as the most important in my life. however every ones different so I implore you to try and do priority lift for your self and see how much buckets you lift.

Reading Response 4
Performance art hidden history. This reading explains the many facets of performance art, making it one of the oldest forms. As we humans have been expressing ourselves for as long as there was cognitive, we have had a cognitive function. While reading this, I found that performance art has always been present all around us but never explained. The many forms of self-expression described by Roselee Goldburge hold true. Performance art cannot and should not be categorized, and the forms of self-expression can vary from individual to individual. It was interesting to know the different eras that performance art has lived through, such as futurism, cubism, Dadaism, and so on. Gold burg describes the art form to pop up every now and then, taking on new challenges and different aspects of the social world. Ultimately bring everyone together to witness self-expression.
The other history of intellectual performance this reading focuses on the way performance art can be utilized to create shock values. Or a call to action towards certain injustices. Coco Fusco explains the different practices of caging indigenous people that we're putting on display throughout both America and Europe. The way they dehumanized these individuals of color was truly Appalling. Fusco's performance of the "Amerindian" within the Chicago Cause both Admiration and outrage for the spectators. However, the beauty of their demonstration is that its population expressed empathy. Creating an opening for a discussion about injustices committed by racist individuals.

Artist statement .
Within “A call to war” wanted to capture the moment where we can seen these character have an inner monologue with themselves. Coming to terms with the horror's that lay before and their ultimate acceptance of their situation. Though their facial expression we can tell what they are feeling. With out them having to utter a single word..
