ALL ABOUT OVO!!

OVO aka October’s Very Own is known as the rapper Drake’s brand. The label is an emblem of an owl and CEO Drake takes 60 percent of these profits. The name October was chosen given that Drake’s birthday was at the end of the month, the 24th. OVO headquarters is located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Drake made this record label official in 2012. However Noah Shebib and Drake made it known to the public in 2008 on MySpace. They posted tons of music, art, and even clothing. The first artists to be signed to the label were Partynextdoor and the duo Majid Jordan.

WHO’S FEATURE IS THE BEST??

As we know Drake has put out over 100 features, From top artist like Rihanna, Future, and even Jay Z. Drake has one collaborative album with 21 savage and one album that he partnered with Future on ‘What A Time To Be Alive’. Given that these two albums are the only ones that rapper Drake is in partnership with, we shall see and vote which ones best. First here are some facts, Her loss has 16 songs while WATTBA(What A Time To Be Alive) has 11. Future and Drakes album hit 2x platinum where as Her Loss was just platinum. Her Loss has over 1billion streams on Spotify . WATTBA sold 375,000 copies which is a little under Her Loss selling at 404,000. Top song for both albums was Rich Flex and Jumpman. Which is your favorite album???

HOW FAR WOULD YOU GO TO ‘Pipe Down?’

So glad to have you guys back!! For today’s blog the topic is on the album ‘Certified Lover Boy’ specifically the song ‘Pipe Down.’ Before breaking down one of his creative verse’s, The analysis of the song is that he is in a toxic relationship with an unknown woman. The relationship doesn’t blow over well, Drake reflects and questions himself on how much he has to do for her to be satisfied. The verse I chose to break down is ‘I tatted your passport up now it’s looking like an arm sleeve’ Drake expresses how he has bought her so many flights, hotels and vacations out of the country that the passport is getting so filled up it looks like a full blown tattoo to keep her happy.

THE PEOPLE’S FAVORITE DRAKE ALBUM!

Welcome back team Drizzy, As we know from my previous blog post Drake has seven studio albums. According to Complex Drizzy fans ranked ‘Take care’ as his best album. This album had plenty of features like Rihanna, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj etc. The album is very sensual and all about love, Not the type you would look for in relationships but toxic love where you tend to fight, cry and makeup. His best song on the album voted by the people was ‘Marvin’s Room’. Although I do love ‘Take care’ Personally my favorite album that isn’t really considered an album more of a deluxe is ‘Care Package’. This is my favorite version of Drake. What’s your favorite Drake album?

Aubrey Drake Graham know to the public as Drake, 6God, champagnepapi etc. Is an Canadian rapper and songwriter. At a young age Drake played in the show Degrassi where website Billboard says he stared as Jimmy Brooks. He rose into more fame when he signed with lil Wayne’s record Young Money. In 2009 he made a break through with his hit single ‘Best I Ever Had’. Drake the thirty-six year old has seven studio albums and is the father to his one child Adonis Mahbed Graham. Drakes most streamed song is ‘One Dance’ with over 324 million plays in the United States.

ALL THE BLUR TOUR

Welcome back to Toronto’s favorite!! As most of you know, rapper Drake and 21 Savage (another amazing entertainer) have an album named ‘Her Loss’ together. The album has sixteen substantial songs, with over one billion streams on Spotify. Given that the album did extremely well both Drake and 21 savage decided to make an ‘It’s All A Blur’ tour. The tour dates did get pushed back and have now started on July 5th and will end October 9th 2023. If you are thinking of ordering tickets, Ticketmaster starts them at around three hundred to even one thousand dollars and possibly could go up from there.

The Drizzy Tapes!!

Hello fellow Ovo members welcome to the #ForAlltheDogs blog. For the people who don’t know what ‘For All the Dogs’ means, it is drakes newest upcoming album. Drake formally known as Aubrey Drake Graham, is a five-time Grammy winner, and former actor. according to Billboard Hot 100 He has 11 number 1 hits. To put that in perspective, one of the best entertainers of all time king of pop Michael Jackson has 14.
