Anytime I get to watching heart wrenching storylines like Reb*cca, or Robert turning himself in, I find that going back to crack storylines - like Robert gaslighting Lawrence into thinking they slept together,- is a good palette cleanser.
What I love/hate about how everything went down about Robert going to prison and cutting Aaron off is that there’s no clear bad guy here. I can’t hate Robert or Aaron for the choices they made then, or the choices they are making now.
It’s kind of stressful because it might have been easier to have someone to blame rather than feeling bad for the both of them. But also, it’s kinda amazing and beautifully painful and exactly what I imagine love ought to be like -making tough and painful choices for people that you love and, at some point soon hopefully, forgiveness and understanding even when your heart has been ripped out by this person.

“Ain’t nobody hurt you like I hurt you, but ain’t nobody love you like I do.”
Why am I hearing Robert and Aaron in every song? The brain rot is real lol.
I was just thinking back on their whole relationship and I mean, I really get why Aaron hasn’t climbed Robert like a tree yet. Aaron had his whole relationship ripped away from him. On some level, Robert understands that it must have hurt him (“I still see your face when I have you the rings back” and “I know I have no right to just walk back into your life”). While Robert probably worked out his choice logically in his head, he hadn’t gotten to see what removing himself from Aaron’s life did to Aaron. I don’t blame Aaron for not wanting to put himself in that position again.
But, everyone and their mother knows that no one is going to love Aaron the way Robert does. We’ve got a million receipts - Robert willing to burn 100k to show Aaron he loves him more than money, Robert jumping back in the lake to get the rings after he just about refused to leave Aaron to die alone, Robert willing to move away to another country permanently and leave his unborn kid to give Aaron what he thought he needed, letting Aaron go when he thought he could be happier without Robert, trying to ask Paddy for his blessing, etc.
I mean, sometimes, as people grow older, they realize that they want a love that is steady rather than a love that burns. When Aaron walked back to marry John, he wasn’t settling or denying himself in his head I think. He chose what he believes he needs, something he doesn’t trust Robert to be able to give him anymore.
I understand that Robert has been through A LOT in prison. Ideally, I’d love for Aaron to be there for Robert like Robert was there for Gordon. But it’s not exactly realistic. Back then, they could pretend that they didn’t mean this much to each other, that they were capable of simple friendship. Now, as Aaron put it, “I know what we are. We’ll get into something.”. Aaron knows what the smallest gesture of kindness will be taken as, what it could turn into. Sometimes, I actually think that Aaron isn’t half as scared of losing John as he is of getting back with Robert and being in a place to get his heart ripped apart like that again.
I still think and hope affair 2.0 will happen anyways. This is Robert Sudgen and Aaron Dingle - since when have they been able to keep away from each other? Whether it’ll be physical or emotional, I don’t really know. I’d think it would make more sense for it to be physical because:
1) Parallel to affair 1.0
2) Aaron probably won’t find it easy to make himself emotionally available to Robert
3) We’ve already seen that they’re no good at keeping their hands off each other if the kiss on the bridge was anything to go by. Even when they hurt each other, are angry at each other, they still want each other.
What I hope is that we get to see Aaron want to leave John before he’s revealed to be a psycho. I want it to be clear that Aaron is choosing Robert when they get back together properly. Not optimistic on that front however given that Cain and Tracy seem to be teaming up to investigate which probably leaves little time before a reveal…
Anyhoo, that’s my 2am Robert and Aaron rant. Excited to see Robert actually make a friend of his own hopefully.

Rewatching 2017 Robron and it’s rough with Reb*cca there, but then I remember how absolutely gone Robert is on Aaron even in the year 2025. He really is not speaking empty words every time he reassures Aaron that no one else comes close.
Now, it’s almost pathetic now to watch the lady convince herself that Robert wants her.

Honestly, I don't think I much care what Robert Sugden does when he's back on my screen - what he's doing, who he's doing, who's doing him, etc, becuase
Still processing the fact that Robert Sugden is back on my screen
We know where all roads lead in this story - I don't really care if it take 10 weeks or 10 months or more to get there.
A month ago, Emmerdale was not even a passing thought in my mind. Robert Sugden was as good as dead in my mind. What a time it is now lol.
So, there is literally no spoiler that could make me disappointed at this time. Literally.

Insanely romantic thing to say about someone you are actively denying even caring about. “He has that stupid punchable look on his face that he thinks is funny, which it isnt 🥰🥰🥰” DOES HE HEAR HIMSELF… The intimacy of describing exactly the faces Robert pulls, of knowing the reactions he gets out of people… The intimacy of knowing that Robert thinks it’s funny 😭😭 The intimacy of Aaron having an opinion about that face… The layers in Aaron dismissing Robert getting hurt because of their history (like the innumerable times Robert has been hit … including by Aaron, most recently 2 weeks ago). Jesus. So much said in just 1 line. Real ass TV
Then Vic with the KO line that solidifies this as insanely romantic. Even she was like ok and you fell in love with that stupid punchable look. And is she wrong…

So much of affair 1.0 era was Robert panting after Aaron. It's nice to see the scenes where Aaron wasn't exactly chill about wanting Robert sprinkled in. Even Robert, Mr. Let's Defile Every Corner of This Small Town, was flabbergasted here lol.

Pitbabe 2 EP 5 - CharlieBabe (+Willy)
I've been seeing a lot of people unhappy with that scene at the end, and I'm definitely on that boat. I've also seen a handful of people being neutral between Charlie and Babe on this whole Willy fiasca.
Yes, Willy is a bit of a stalker and persistent and strong. But Babe, the one we know from Season 1, isn't far off on those latter two characteristics. He's persistent and strong, and has enough of a network, that he could have put an abrupt end to all this ages ago. He could have looped in his team on Willy's behaviour (especially since the dude is from the rival team and so many of their confrotnations have centered on 'racing'). He could have been more agressive towards Willy. He could have told his boyfriend.
That latter one is the one that I cannot understand for the life of me. After all that Charlie and Babe have been through, with Babe knowing firsthand how shitty it is being kept in the dark, WHY WOULD HE NOT EVEN MENTION WILLY TO CHARLIE (beyond bringing down his sel-fconfidence with hurtful comparisons)?
What has been giving me the ick all these episodes is how not unresponsive Babe is to Willy's advances. The most glaring one being that Babe did not even block Willy's number at any point. Rather, he intentionally hid his phone from his boyfriend and looked around before texting Willy. If that isn't cheater behaviour, I don't know what the hell is.
And yes, I classify EP 5 as Babe cheating. Sure, maybe, at some point, whatever was happening wasn't entirely consensual from Babe's end. That does not change that Babe is the one who went behind his boyfriend's back to set up a meeting with Willy in a rather sensual setting and entered that setting in only a towel. That does not change that Babe flirted with Willy quite bluntly. That does not change that Babe let WIlly put his hands on him (at first at least). He was cheating the moment he texted Willy to meet him at the sauna.
No information that Babe needed justified how he went about that. It wasn't hot headed or an impulsive bad decision, it was planned and wholey intentional on Babe's part. He simply did not respect his devoted boyfriend enough to give two shits about Charlie's concerns.
Obviously, Charlie deserves so much better at this point.
Anyhoo, SA is bad, yes. But that does not erase the utter wrongness of Babe's actions and his clear betrayal.
If Charlie has an ounce of self-respect, he'll head home, pack his things, and flip Babe the bird on the way out. Babe doesn't deserve more chances. Charlie has literally had two conversations with Babe where he has made clear his insecurities and concerns about Willy. In both conversations, Babe has words and promises that contradict with his actions these past few episodes.
Men and their false promises, eh? Y'all be safe out there and have some self-respect.

Chapters: 14/? Fandom: Smallville Rating: Not Rated Warnings: Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings Relationships: Clark Kent/Lana Lang Characters: Clark Kent, Lana Lang, Kara Zor-El, Chloe Sullivan Summary:
A story of Clark and Lana making their way back to each through a multitude of hardships.
This picks up from Season 7 episode 20 where Lana is held at gunpoint and forced to break up with Clark by Lex's men.
Let me know what you think of the story so far! (I haven’t watched past S8 so don’t expect this to be accurate to whatever went down in any episode after Requiem)

"That's how the best ones always start" -Lana Lang to Clark
In a show that is 10 seasons long (I only acknowledge that 8 of them exist), people are bound to find lines or plots that they have problems with. For me, it was Lana in S4 saying to Clark “that’s how the best ones always start” about L*is. So many problems about this one:
Lana was in her last year of high school in that scene - She was what? 18 at most? What does anyone really know about love at 18, let alone how the “best ones always start”?
This was what? The second episode of the first season L*is was here? - At this point, how much could Lana even know about Clark and L*is to make such a comment?
Lana has always loved Clark. Every second of this series. She loved him when she was with Whitney, she loved him even when knowing her best friend did, she loved him when he kissed/went out with said best friend, she loved him when he left, she loved him when he came back and essentially dumped her, she loved him when he wouldn’t tell her the truth, she loved him when she married another guy, when she thought she was pregnant with another guy’s kid, when she found out he was an alien, etc. So, under no circumstances whatsoever, would Lana Lang make such a comment about Clark and another woman.
What irked me most wasn’t so much how Clark and Lana ended, as much as how so many characters became mouthpieces for Cl*is propaganda. This line was so out-of-pocket for Lana to say, I don’t even acknowledge it. She would never say this, given her history with Clark. This was one of the many forced things about Cl*is in that show. And the fact that they had to write lines like this speaks to the great narrative leaps they had to take to make it look like who Clark ended up with made sense.

Clana Ramblings
Your enemies know you better than most people in many ways. That's how they succeed in hurting you. Case in point being Lex Luthor.
In Season 6, Lex married Lana (let's not pretend that was all because he loved her).
In Season 7, Lex's men forced Lana to break up with Clark. This one was most touching since Lex knew pretty well about the relationship issues that Clark and Lana were having. Heck, he was the one who let Clark in on some of the secrets Lana had been keeping and probably got a kick out of that. But, despite that, he still understood that there was no better way of hurting Clark than Lana.
In Season 8, Lex orchestrated the whole bomb situation, knowing the choices that they would make and what they would be sacrificing in making those choices. Again, Lex's actions force Lana and Clark apart.
It's just something that definitely speaks clearly to the strength and durability of Clark and Lana's relationship. Yes, it was years of obstacles and pain, but even when he and Lana were apart or when Lana had made mistakes that hurt him, the best way to hurt him would be to take Lana Lang away from him.

Alternate Ending To 7X20
“Sorry Mr. Kent, you just missed her. Lex Luthor came by a few hours ago and signed the discharge papers.” the nurse explained.
Clark prided himself on staying calm in most situations, but with the thought of Lana with another monster after he’d saved her from one had him on the brink of losing his mind. Think, where would he have taken her? Clark raked his mind and started compiling a list of places to inspect as Chloe walked in.
“Clark, how’s Lana? Can I go in and see her?” Chloe asked, hopeful to hear about her friend’s recovery, before she quickly caught the uncharacteristically panicked look on Clark’s face. “What is it?”
“Lex has her. Chloe, she was here one minute and now, -” Clark started to ramble.
“Hey. Hey. We will find her. Do you have any idea of where he would have taken her?” Chloe asked.
Clark shook his head - Lex had property from Kansas to Shanghai. Finding Lana would be like finding a needle in a haystack. “Let’s start with the mansion” Clark declared a moment before he superspeeded to the mansion. Clark quickly scanned all the floors and was frustrated to find that there was no sign of Lana.
Clark spent the next few hours scouring every inch of Smallville, and eventually returned to the hospital to find Chloe speaking with some police officers. At the sight of a disheveled Clark, Chloe bid farewell to the officers and headed to Clark.
“Anything?” Chloe asked. Clark shook his head and grasped onto whatever calm he had left, trying to think logically. “Chloe, any idea on how we can get leads on where they are?” Clark asked.
“The officers shared that Lex left in a rare car model - one that should be registered to very few people. We can try tracking the license plates.” Chloe suggested. Clark nodded and met her at the Daily Planet.
Lois was typing away when the two stumbled in. “What’s wrong with him?” Lois asked Chloe at the sight of a less-than-put together Clark Kent. Not something you see every day. “It’s Lana.” Of course it is.
“She’s missing-” “Taken” Clark snapped to interrupt Chloe before catching himself and shooting an apologetic look to Chloe. Chloe sighed and nodded - she was used to Clark being overly emotional about practically all things Lana, probably more than Lana herself, who Clark tried to always keep his cool in front of.
Chloe started to pull up the car registration records when Clark’s phone started ringing. Clark answered the phone, and heard Kara on the other line “Clark, when are you coming home? Lana’s here and it seems like Braniac’s hold on her is gone, but she seems a little out of it.” Before Kara finished her sentence, she felt a blur move past her to the direction of the stairs.
Kara headed up to Clark’s room to find Clark’s arms wrapped around Lana as they sat on the floor, leaning against the foot of their bed. Lana looked more at ease than she had been minutes before. Kara smiled in relief and left the two to themselves. They’ll get through it, they always do, Kara thought confidently and she happily made herself a much-deserved peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
