Minnesota's Largest Indian Reservation Celebrates First Home-Born Bison Calf https://www.goodnewsnetwork.org/minnesotas-largest-indian-reservation-celebrates-first-home-born-bison-calf/

The White Earth Nation was surprised and overjoyed as a bison calf was born out of season, a sign the band said demonstrates “resilience, healing, and hope.”
It’s the first bison calf born on the White Earth Reservation since it started a buffalo harvest and breeding program two years ago through the Inter-Tribal Buffalo Council.
Bison typically give birth in the spring, and the tribe’s bison foreman, Jack Heisler, said it’s an example of how wildlife “doesn’t follow a script.”
“This bison calf being born, it didn’t follow a script either, because the mama is so young,” Heisler told MPR News.
The White Earth Band is the largest of the six band which make up the Minnesota Chippewa, and their reservation is the largest in the state by land area. Its bison herd numbers 10, a number the nation hopes to grow to 44 by next year.
“This historic birth marks a new chapter in our ongoing efforts to restore the bison to Anishinaabe lands, reconnecting with a sacred relative that once roamed freely across our homelands,” the tribe posted on Facebook. “The calf’s arrival is more than just a moment of joy. It’s a sign of resilience, healing, and hope for future generations.”

Short term Campaign for Yaser Hamad!
It has been a while since @mariampoetry and I started a mini campaign for a Gazan artist, so we decided to help out one who we campaigned for few months back.
Yaser Hamad is a talented poet and song writer and has been using his skills to earn an income for his family. Unfortunately, though, his phone, which is what he uses to write, was damaged by the extreme heat and humidity and is affecting his livelihood as an artist who writes songs for other singers around the world. His phone is not just the only means of communication with the world but a survival tool, too. If he loses it, he won't be able to sell his songs to support his two daughters in impossible conditions.
This is a song he wrote called "Falastinia," describing the pride, resilience, and beauty of Palestinian women.
youtube
Yaser can buy a new phone for $1400 which is a mid grade phone after inflation and the crazy commission fees.
We will be opening donations until August 23rd, after which all donations will be refunded with love and respect so please donate if you can.
As always I'll try to update the status of the campaign daily.
Please donate on PP @/miriampoet

Hey guys. This was posted by my friend Mohammed Ayesh, who's the on-the-ground vetter for our list of verified fundraisers. Despite the horrifying situation, he maintains a smile. He has lost a lot of weight, something that saddens me to see.
What you don't see in this video is that behind the top of that hill, there were tanks. They might've been zionist occupation ones, they might've been American ones. Either way. There were tanks. And soon after they opened fire and rained hell on everyone, while the Ghazzawiyeh were gathered there to get bags of flour.
He described to me the terror that was in his heart as he ran away from this, praying to God asking Him to save him. He promised he would never go back to these again if God saved him. And he made it out alive. He might not have a choice though, he will likely have to go back if it means he can feed his family for a while.
Please. Help him. I don't know what else I can do besides plead for his case. Please help him.

My name is Nada, I’m 22 years old, from Gaza 🇵🇸.
I used to live a peaceful and happy life with my husband and our little child ❤️👨👩👦.
Suddenly, everything changed when our home was bombed and collapsed with all our memories 💔🏚️.
We survived miraculously, but now we live in a tent after losing everything ⛺

The war stole our sense of safety and took away my child’s bed, toys, and little dreams 😢🧸.
We asked our friends in the U.S. to help by launching a support campaign, but the link is taking some time 🇺🇸⌛.

So we had to use my friend Maram’s link temporarily 🙏.
We hope peace returns, and that we can rebuild a new life despite the pain 🌈🕊️.
Thank you to everyone standing with us, even with just a kind word — you are the light in this darkness 🤍✨.

Voice of Gaza students
$25 can change the future of a university student in Gaza. After the failure of our fundraising campaign for the Architectural Design course, we turn to you today, hoping for your donations for next month's rent at Isnad Foundation. $2500 sustains more than 100 students in Gaza. Can you imagine this amount supporting this many people? Work spaces and providing electricity and internet in Gaza are very expensive, and students cannot afford the cost. That is why Isnad exists, to provide these resources to them and grant them a safe and free educational environment. With a small donation from you, you can make a difference in the life of a citizen in Gaza.

Contribute to opening closed doors And be their hope

Please Help my family 🙏
✅️Vetted by @gazavetters, my number verified on the list is ( #672 )✅️
I am Shams from Gaza, 17 years old, a girl from a family of 7. I was in my first year of high school before the war. I loved my family, my school, my friends, and life itself. But the war came and took everything I loved away.
The days have passed filled with loss and hunger. We no longer go to school—education has stopped, my school and home were bombed, and now my sister, her four daughters, and I all live in a single room.
We are struggling just to find a bite to eat, to have a roof that protects us from rain, rocket shrapnel, and the smell of gunpowder. Time passed, and I was supposed to take my final exams this year, but the war took away our right to education in every way.
We are facing the worst living conditions—insanely high prices for food, cleaning supplies, and medicine. We are displaced after losing our home. My father was injured while trying to find food; he suffers from a herniated disc in his back.
We are truly in need of help. Life here is almost impossible, and the conditions are extremely harsh. Please help me secure shelter, food, medical care, and at least a livable situation. A little from you can make a big difference.

we're getting closer to the day that will mark two years of the genocide in gaza. conditions are worsening. while there is no individual who is unimpacted by the happenings in gaza, many are bearing the brunt of the genocide.
children, old people, pregnant women, and people with disabilities are unable to get enough food to nourish themselves. they don't have access to life saving medicines and the aid they require.
mohammed is a disabled child who was receiving regular physical therapy before the genocide. due to the invasion, his life has been flipped and he is unable to enjoy his childhood or get access to physical therapy.
his parents are fundraising to help him. kindly consider donating to them so that they can help their little boy. the fundraiser is verified.

DON’T SKIP, PLEASE I BEG YOU.
Please, I beg you — if you're reading this, don’t look away. Every second matters.
Children in Gaza are wasting away before our eyes. Starvation is not a silent death — it screams through every rib, every bone showing beneath their skin. I am a mother, and my little boy Qais is one of them. He’s just a baby, too small to endure this kind of suffering. Your donation could mean the difference between life and death. Please, help us feed Qais and the countless children who have nothing left but pain.
This famine in Gaza is not a natural disaster — it is man-made, and it is killing our children.
1. The Israeli blockade has cut off access to food, clean water, and essential supplies, turning Gaza into an open-air prison where starvation spreads rapidly.
2. Deliberate obstruction of humanitarian aid prevents food and medical supplies from reaching those in desperate need — including children like my baby boy, Qais.
3. Destruction of farmland and infrastructure from relentless bombings has made it nearly impossible for families to grow or access food.
From the depths of a grieving mother’s heart, I beg you — don’t let Qais starve to death. He’s only a child, his only crime is being born in Gaza. His little body trembles in my arms as I watch him shrink before my eyes. Please don’t look away. Please don’t let him fade into silence like so many others. Every dollar, every share, every act of compassion could save him. I am pleading with everything I have — help me keep my son alive.
PLEASE DONATE HERE
If Qais was your only child, would you leave him to face his fate alone?
DONATE HERE PLEASE

DON'T SKIP, I BEG YOU ✋🚨 you're the only hope to save a child😔😭

🔥 22 Months of Pain… and Still No End in Sight 🔥
We live in a suffocating tent under the blazing sun, the scorching heat stealing our breath.
My three children cry out in pain, their bodies covered with rashes and sores, with no medicine or treatment. Donate now
Hunger is devouring them, the bombing chases us, and there is no sign of life around.
Even my wife, weakened by malnutrition, has painful blue spots on her body with no cure.
How much longer will we live like this? 22 months and the war is still ongoing…
Please, we have no hope except you — help us and share our story.
Your donation now could save us from death.

I feel like I’m screaming at the top of my lungs, But no one hears me. No one turns around. No one asks why.
We are still here starving under a sun that never shows mercy, in tents that barely stand.
Have you stopped seeing us? Or did you just get used to the silence?
Please, remember us. Even a little kindness can reach further than you think.

The most powerful and rich country in the world is currently forcing a starvation scheme on a death camp it helped build 20 years ago. The most powerful and rich country in the world is starving 2 million people it imprisoned in a few square miles with 40 feet of concrete & barbed wire, and is enacting mass murder traps for them when they gather for the breadcrumbs they're trapping them with. The most powerful and rich country in the world is coordinating the countries under its bidding to provide it with weapons and diplomatic immunity to continue this slaughter.
Ghazzawi people have been some of the most deprived in the world for decades now. But I don't even know what to describe this. This is beyond dehumanization. Beyond extermination. Beyond genocide. There are no words that can fully encapsulate the horror. Even horror feels like a weak word in comparison to the reality on the ground.
And there are still people who think the country behind this could be salvaged... the United States needs to end and dissolve within our lifetimes.

as-Salēm 3aleīcum once more, my friends. Most of you mutuals most definitely may already know about Ibrahim @aburakhiaibrahim, a Gazauī Palestinian man we Tumblr bloggers have befriended (him and many other Gazauīs as well) in order to help him and his relatives procure the help they so pressingly have needed and continue needing because of the zionist genocidal campaign underway.

Well, I'm appealing to your means and solidarity once more in order to get more donations for them. His body is now covered in a painful rash from contaminated water and malnutrition, and his family hasn’t received all needed aid due to the dangerous "red zone" airdrops; so it's become more difficult for him to actually pick up helping supplies for his relatives by himself.

They’re out of time. Every contribution buys flour, bread, water, lentils, bandages, antibiotics, or a moment of safety. If you’ve ever shared a post about Gaza all along, I'm sure you know fully well this is how you turn solidarity into survival.

If you can either help spread the word around or donate something yourself, please feel free to reblog this and/or reaching out to him; and thank you so much sincerely, ٱللَّٰهُمَّ بَارِكْ.

There's this weird cultural voyeurism that's like 1 degree away from cultural appropriation but it's its own thing. Where white people want to be entertained but they don't want to learn about our history or how we continue to live in the modern day. Speaking from an ndn perspective but I'm 100% sure they do the same shit to Black people & other poc. & it's been driving me a little fucking crazy lately

hey! i can answer this!
basically, most if not all gaza fundraising was happening on gofundme simply due to name recognition and brand trust. however, gofundme quickly proved itself to be actively complicit in the genocide through its targeting of palestinian fundraisers for deletion and suppression.
my own friend siraj lost over $27,000 he had painstakingly raised over several months when gofundme arbitrarily declared his previously verified fundraiser fraudulent. he instantly lost access to food and housing for his entire family and has not been able to regain that progress since.
by contrast, chuffed has basically never given gaza fundraisers any problems. it actively promotes palestine-related fundraisers on its front page.
chuffed has also been used by the sameer project, crips for esims for gaza, and other palestine orgs for over a year now. after a particularly bad wave of deletions (of which siraj was a victim) people began migrating their fundraisers to chuffed, and it's become the go-to host site for new crowdfunding campaigns.
so if you see a fundraiser on chuffed, that's why!
my friend siraj has since moved his fundraiser to chuffed. if you got something out of this post, please consider donating to him. he needs ~150 euros to afford food for his family.

Please buy my prints 🥺

I have three jobs that are all unstable. I live in complete poverty as a sole provider to a family of three in the global south. I am on maintenance medicine for hypocalcemia, type II diabetes and hypothyroidism for the rest of my life. I am their sole provider, and now dealing with nerve damage post surgery- a quarter of my face, and nearly my entire neck has not healed properly- its numb and painful and makes it hard to work for me as it limits my own movement somewhat. If you've ever taken joy from my art or little posts, I would love your help. I am grateful for this second chance at life, I would like to stay healthy and keep living. Thank you so much!

August 14, 2025 - A UK student opening their A-level exam results live on the BBC TV broadcast uses the moment to say:
"On that note, I want to say Free Palestine, end the genocide, and the BBC is complicit”.
The BBC reporter quickly interjected and said “we’re here to talk about A-Level results…", Student, to the camera: "The BBC is complicit".
If you have a platform in whatever way, use it to speak out! [video]

Hamza was sick yesterday. I went to look for medicine for him, but I didn’t find any suitable medicine. The medicine is expensive, and there is no suitable food for children.
I am also sick because of the smoke from the fire and I am looking for a suitable treatment. Our whole life has become a disease.
Due to the lack of proper nutrition, the body becomes weak and cannot withstand the disease.
I need money to buy medicine and some food. Please help me. I need 150€.
