I had a dream where someone was yelling at me for the cleaning efficiency of some maids by saying i was causing them higher costs, cleanings and faulty dusters. After they followed up, very angrily with, its a straight-up dub circle!”
The fuck is a dub circle and why is it straight up?
So anyway, im going to start using the phrase now and see if it catches on.
“My Grandmother dies last Thursday.” Thats a straight-up dub circle.
“I failed my Chemistry exam.” Thats a straight-up dub circle.
“The McRib is back at McDonalds.” Thats a straight-up dub Circle.
“There are three guys beatboxing in the parking lot.” Nah, bro, thats a straight-up dub circle.
When someone asks for an explanation, im just gunna shrug my shoulders and say i heard it in a dream once.

Subtle / Fever
He hasn't felt good for days. It's hard for Wolfwood to put a finger on what ails him, his own body often something he doesn't fully understand. But he's hit a roadblock he can't avoid and nearly ended up with a gut full of lead because of it.
He's sick and sore, sitting on the ground with his face hidden when Vash walks over to him. He'd been sloppy in the middle of a scuffle and Vash had just managed to chase the fuckers off but at that point Wolfwood had been doing good to slowly sink down to sit in the dirt next to the Punisher.
And even now he hasn't moved much. He's hunched over himself, shaky and head pounding as he tries to breathe through the feeling. He feels like he's about to be sick and he's just trying to will it to pass. He's distracted enough that he doesn't notice when Vash crouches down next to him until he touches his shoulder and Wolfwood nearly jumps out of his skin.
"Are you alright, Wolfwood?"
He doesn't look up, just nods with his face buried against his knees. "Just... One minute."
He can get up in a second. He can--
Vash reaches out and presses his hand to his forehead without his glove on, skin to skin briefly leaving Wolfwood fluttering his eyes closed from the pleasant coolness. But the noise he hears in response to the touch sounds alarmed.
"Ugh, you're burning up," Vash murmurs, hand still pressed to Wolfwood's forehead. "We need to get you out of the heat."
Wolfwood heaves a sigh. "I can walk in a few more minutes..."
Vash clicks his tongue softly and then the hand against Wolfwood's forehead is gone. He leans after it, making a frustrated noise at the loss of the feeling, but a moment later he's being hefted up to his feet. Vash grabs him under his arms, dragging him up against his chest, and Wolfwood's head spins so hard he can only go limp and make a woeful noise. Met with this, Vash seems to think for a moment while supporting him entirely before slinging Wolfwood's arms over his shoulders and scooping his legs out from under him.
It takes longer than he's proud of for Wolfwood to realize he's being carried. Especially when his face ends up pressed to the cool skin on Vash's neck just above his collar. It feels so nice all he can do is burrow against it and sigh. In another moment he might protest but for now he'll let Vash win.

Strixx Like a Forger
Trying to get back into writing before I start work. Working on a sickfic with a baby Yuri being raised alongside Anya... These are basically just notes for inspiration.
...Trying to understand one child was difficult enough, but two was near impossible. To make matters worse, Yuri was almost the complete opposite of Anya. He showed little to no interest in playing with toys and only partook in Anya’s spy games if he could protect his older sister. Television shows were beneath him, drawing was mediocre, and make-believe was for babies. Three facts he’d stated bluntly and firmly when Anya had tried to get him to play “Bondman” with her, Bond and Chimera.
Unlike Anya, Yuri spent most of his time reading; flipping through his textbooks or some of the random books Loid had laying around the apartment in an attempt to make it feel more “lived in.” He’d stay at the dining table, studying or scribbling notes over his homework for the next day, his legs swinging from the chair while Anya threw her fists in the air, mimicking the moves Bondman was using on one of the villains in the living room. The contrast between the two was unbelievable.
Truth was, Yuri was smart. Bright and intelligent for his age, which made keeping up this rouse harder to pull off the more he questioned it. The 11-year-old picked up on things. He was observant and detailed; he paid attention to things most normal kids wouldn’t. And with his sister, it was like he was always on high alert. (Made it harder to keep the whole marriage charade up; sure, it would have been easier to tell the kid, but Yor was pretty certain it wouldn’t have to come to that. And given that he went to Anya’s school, it would be harder if two kids knew their secret versus one.)
Loid had pretty much given up on having Anya get all eight Stella stars in order to become an Imperial Scholar to meet with Donovan. Yuri, however, was much closer to achieving that, having already gotten two Stella within the three months he’s been here. Not to mention he was also in Deme. Desmond’s class; another step closer to closing out Operation Strix.
Loid sighed, folding his newspaper in half and setting it down on the coffee table as Yor set down a cup of coffee. She placed her own cup on the table before sitting on the couch across from him, glancing towards Anya as the young girl attempted a karate kick. Bond boofed as the six-year-old landed a gentle hit between the dog’s ears before letting out a soft howl and falling over dramatically, covering his eyes with his paw.
“Don’t worry, Mama! I, Anya Forger, have defeated the evil dog!”
“Very good, Anya! I’m so grateful to have such a skilled daughter!” Yor clapped loudly as the girl bowed. Bond boofed again before wagging his tail and sitting up, licking the six-year-old’s face, causing the latter to laugh loudly...
...
...Was this how he clung to his sister? Made sense. After all, she was the only thing he had left. Even if he were to see Loid as a father figure like Anya, or at the very least, someone he could look up to, there wouldn’t be much of a point in the end. Once everything was done and Donovan Desmond was dealt with, Operation Strix would be disbanded… or at least, Loid Forger would disappear. WISE would probably collaborate a false encounter with an unstable patient or long-term business overseas that would involve Dr. Forger’s research. Whatever the case, the Forger family would be no more.
Anya’s grasp was always gentle. Playful. If anything, Loid cautioned her to hold on tighter, afraid she’d lose her grip and fall with as much as she squirmed…. Yuri’s grasp was almost… desperate. Like he was afraid to let go; like even the slightest movement would cause the other person to slip from his grasp- slip through his fingers. Like he’d disappear...
...
“Loid, you’ve been so kind to Yuri and me over these last few weeks… but I can’t help wondering, since our arrangement has changed slightly… if you’re still okay with this. I-I mean, I… would understand if you would prefer Anya to have a mother, or I guess… if-if you would prefer to have a wife… um, what am I trying to say here… sorry,”
“Yor, are you happy with our arrangement?”
“What?! Absolutely!? I, just- I, now that Yuri is back with me, I don’t want you to feel obligated to continue our arrangement and-”
“Then Yuri is not a bother. As long as you’re happy, then I am as well. Yuri is a bright, talented kid. Besides, I think it will do Anya some good to grow up alongside someone; perhaps she’ll even learn a thing or two from him.”
“Are-are you sure? I mean, I can talk with my uncle and-”
“Yor, Yuri is a part of your family which means he is now a part of mine. If you want him here, then we do too.”
“I still don’t understand,” Yuri said, crossing his arms as he stared towards his sister, “Tell me again, Yor. How I went to Uncle’s for six months and come back to find out you’ve been married for a year… which means, you got married six months before I went to Uncle’s, and yet, you what? Didn’t tell me? I mean, how could you not tell me? I didn’t even know you were dating?”
“Oh, Yuri, you know how I am sometimes… I guess, I just forgot,” Yor laughed softly, cradling her tea mug between steady hands. Yuri huffed, throwing his arms up, “Yeah, but I’m pretty sure you went on a few dates before I left. And then you just forget to tell me. This whole thing seems really weird. I mean, how do you know that man-”
...
“I don’t want to be her uncle,” Yuri pouting.
“Hm… then why don’t you think of her as your little sister?”
“Little sister?”
“Yeah. So now you have a big sister and a little sister.”
“I… have a little sister…”
“Honestly, I’m kind of jealous of you.”
“Why.”
“I see the way you and your sister are around each other, and even though your ages vary dramatically, it’s easy to see you’re extremely close. I can tell you both care for each other a great deal. I never had anyone like that growing up; I was on my own for most of my childhood, and to know that Yor spent some of hers with such a strong brother there to protect her, to look out for her, makes me envious in knowing I never had that. I’m so proud that you were able to look out for her and be there for her, and I can’t imagine it’s easy to have some stranger step in to take over. So why don’t we look out for her and protect her together?”
“Together?”
“You and me, Yuri. We’ll protect her together. Come rain or snow or wind or fire. Even if a giant meteor crashes into the Earth, we’ll both give everything we’ve got to be the person she needs. To make the world a better place for her and for Anya to live in. Deal?”

Part of In the End, I'm Just a Loser.
Trying to get back into the swing of writing before I start work again. Snippet from a sickfic I've been working on for Hirano to Kagiura...
...
What do you do when someone’s sick?
The 17-year-old cleared his throat as he sent the text to his father, hoping he wasn’t too busy with work to answer. It was probably a stupid question, but Hirano had never really been around someone who was sick, on his own. Last year, he was rarely sick; and Ichinose always told Hirano to “go on without him, to live his best life” whenever he was sick. Either that or the Dorm Manager would stop by several times to make sure his roommate was still alive, staying longer each time. But, for the most part, Ichinose never really asked for anything… not that Kagiura had either. However, Hirano was closer to his kouhai than he was his senpai… and it was his job to look out for the younger, to be there, right? And in this instance, this moment, Kagiura asked for him. Needed him. Wanted…
Are you sick, Tai?
Hirano winced as his father’s reply came through. Considering he’d gotten seriously sick two months prior; it wasn’t surprising his father’s first response would be to see if the blonde was alright. After all, his parents had freaked out and ended up taking him to the hospital – several days of which Hirano didn’t remember nor tried to. The whole experience had been one giant blur, a few minorly cringy details recalled, but other than that, a giant fucking blur.
No. Sorry; I meant my roommate. He doesn’t feel well. So, I wanted to know what I could do to help.
The 17-year-old glanced towards the train doors as the next stop was called, his fingers hovering anxiously over the keys, waiting for the three dots to turn into something helpful. He wasn’t really sure what was wrong with Kagiura considering he hadn’t really seen him since this morning, but hearing his voice over the phone, hoarse and rough, told Hirano that something definitely was. Never mind the fact that he’d asked if Hirano could come walk with him… which meant, the younger wasn’t feeling confident enough or well enough to walk back on his own.
The teenager leaned forward in his seat as the train came to a quick stop. Luckily the train station near their school wasn’t far away, but it still meant there were several stops along the way. Several too many, in Hirano’s opinion. His phone buzzed, and the 17-year-old looked down, tapping the screen a few times before it lit up:
What’s wrong? I need to know what’s wrong to tell you how to help, son.
Hirano’s fingers lingered over the keys. What was wrong? He wasn’t really sure… but given the way Kagiura sounded, his throat had to be bothering him, and he’d been coughing a lot over the past few days. Hirano highly doubted the 16-year-old had gotten any sleep last night, not to mention the last few weeks, due to the bags under his eyes. And he didn’t really have an appetite last night or this morning… and he was pretty pale earlier… Fuck, Hirano really should have made the younger stay at the dorm. He should have fought harder. But they had argued; Kagiura demanding he was fine; it was just a headache… that he’d be fine. And despite the sick feeling in his stomach, despite wanting to shove the younger back on the bed, Hirano let him go. After all, his roommate knew his body better than Hirano did… but maybe that’d been the wrong move…
What if Kagiura was bad? Like really bad? Should he force him to the infirmary or a clinic? Were either still open at this hour? If not, what should he do? Call the Dorm Manager? Ask Hanzawa? Shit, should he have called his father instead? Yeah, he was probably at work right now, but he’d answer – or he could call his mother? She might be sleeping, but she’d also answer. Did Hirano screw this up? Kagiura had never asked him to come walk with him before, so did that mean-
His phone buzzed again, and the blonde glanced down:
It’s alright, Taiga. Think it through; he’ll be fine. If he’s sick, you know what to do – what your mother and I do for you when you’re ill; try to remember what makes you feel better. Or think about what might make him feel better.
If he has a fever, try to keep him cool and check his temperature every couple of hours. Write it down if you need to. If he’s puking, he might want to be alone, so don’t rush him.
You’ll be fine, and if not, you can still call me – we’re just doing rounds tonight until calls come through - or you can seek out your Dorm Manager.
You’ll be alright. Remember, just be patient... Punk.
Hirano smirked as the last message came through. His father had started calling him ‘Punk’ when the teenager began bleaching his hair – something neither of his parents really liked, but something they’d never tell him to stop either. If Hirano liked it, then it was fine, even if they didn’t understand it. Expression was expression, and he was their son.
The station came near, and Hirano stood up, shoving his phone in his pocket. He adjusted his jacket, running a quick hand over his hair as the train came to a stop. At least this station was inside; the one near the dorms wasn’t, but it also meant this one was busier, so it’d probably take him a few minutes to find the younger.
The doors opened slowly, creaking as part of the metal scrapped against the side. Hirano stepped out, moving out of the way as several teenagers shoved past him, mumbling something about curfew. He glanced at the clock on the wall: 20.45. Shit, they were definitely going to miss curfew. He’d texted Hanzawa after hanging up with Kagiura, explaining the younger felt sick and asked Hirano to walk him back to the dorms. Hanzawa had mentioned he’d tell the Dorm Manager, that several students had gotten ill over the last two weeks, so he didn’t think it’d be that much of an issue. But still…
The train departed, and the 17-year-old waited, pushing his hands in his pockets before turning towards the signs above him. If Kagiura was on his way home, and he was taking the same route they always took, odds were, he was two exits down… then again, the younger hadn’t sounded like he knew exactly where he was. Something that was both agitating and concerning. It’s alright, Taiga. Think it through.
Hirano wasn’t really known for overthinking; much less picking up on certain cues that often-had others describing him as “slow on the uptake.” But in certain situations, such as this one, especially ones that involved Kagiura, the teenager tended to over-analyze, to worry…
...
Hirano glanced up, an uneasy feeling twisting in the pit of his stomach as Kagiura cast his gaze towards the floor, squinting against the bright lights in the train. The younger swallowed quickly, putting the back of his hand over his mouth for a second as he closed his eyes. He’d already felt nauseous to begin with but standing up… standing in a moving vehicle while the lights stabbed at his eyes, made everything a lot worse. Made him feel worse. And despite his stomach warning him otherwise, there was no way in hell he was puking in front of Hirano.
The 16-year-old dropped his hand, leaning his head further against the side of the train as it screeched to a stop. Five stops… that’s how many he had left. Until he was closer to the dorms. Closer to his bed. To sleep. Five stops and 15 minutes later. Then sleep. Then he’d feel better. And all this crap, everything, would go away.
“Hey.”
The teenager opened his eyes slightly to see Hirano’s hand reaching for him. He flinched as fingers cupped the back of his neck, pulling his head down quickly until Kagiura’s forehead rested against the older’s shoulder. He let out a soft sigh as the bright lights disappeared, the smell of Hirano filled his nostrils, and for a moment, everything melted away. For a moment, shielding himself, leaning against something, against someone… made everything feel better.
“You should keep your head down if you’re feeling sick, Kagi-kun.”
The pressure of Hirano’s fingers on the back of his neck felt nervous, stiff… awkward. Yet, it was nice. It made the younger shiver, a small groan escaping his mouth as the train doors closed and it lurched forward. Kagiura swallowed thickly, clenching his eyes tighter, resisting the urge to grab Hirano’s coat as he slowly counted. One… Two…
The 16-year-old’s neck began to ache, his back burning, and his legs shaky from his stance. He was taller than Hirano, almost by 20cm… so it made his position awkward and slightly uncomfortable… but if this was it, if this was his 10 seconds, then the younger would take it. Especially now, when he wanted comfort, craved it. Needed it. Five…
Hirano bit his bottom lip as the train came to another stop, and he readjusted his hand, pushing away some sweaty strands on the back of Kagiura’s neck. His stomach twisted again as the younger shivered, the heat radiating from him, uncomfortable and worrying. And the quiet that surrounded his roommate seemed wrong. Hell, everything about this seemed wrong. Unsettling. Sickening. Something eating away in the back of the blonde’s mind as the feeling from earlier, from seeing Kagiura hunched over at the train station, washed over him… what the hell was it?
The 17-year-old met the eyes of an elderly woman briefly, a sympathetic expression settling on her features as she glanced down, and Hirano pulled his roommate a little closer. Behind him, he could hear soft whispers from the two girls, followed by loud giggling, and Kagiura flinched. The blonde tuned them out, hiking the younger’s bag further up his shoulder as someone shoved past them. The train doors closed, and Hirano met the eyes of several others in the door’s reflection. People were staring; the girls behind him glancing up, one covering her face as the other squealed before poking her friend. Kagiura coughed softly, shifting against him, and the older grit his teeth. He’d never cared about the other passenger’s before… but right now, right now, it was like he was hyperaware. Fixated on them glancing towards him… towards Kagiura. And it was starting to piss him off. His roommate didn’t feel well, and they were all staring.
Kagiura mumbled something against his shoulder, and Hirano released his grasp as the younger stood up straighter. The blonde tightened his grip around Kagiura’s bag as he followed the younger’s movements, rubbing the back of his neck as he met the 16-year-old’s gaze…
“You gunna be sick?”
The younger shook his head slowly, leaning his head back against the glass window beside the door. He turned inward slightly, “10 seconds.”
“What?”
The train came to another stop, this time rougher than before, and Kagiura let out a short breath. He closed his eyes briefly before glancing back towards Hirano, “It’s been 10 seconds.”
The blonde stood there; his eyebrows drawn together before the realization hit him. Ten seconds… the stupid touching thing? Right… has it really been ten seconds? He cast his eyes sideways as the girls pushed past them quickly, still glancing towards them, giggling loudly. The next stop was called over the speaker, and Hirano sighed, “Look… I’ll give you a pass for tonight. Deal?”
Kagiura met his gaze, smiling slightly as the doors closed. He turned briefly, coughing in his elbow, and Hirano winced. His cough sounded worse each time. And his voice… it definitely hurt to talk. Hirano really should have kicked his ass to the doctor this morning.
“Thanks, Hirano… but it’s okay. I’m starting to feel better.”
Hirano growled, jamming the bag against his shoulder as he clenched his other hand against his thigh, eyeing his roommate. The statement wasn’t even slightly convincing. The idiot looked like he could pass out or vomit any second and now he was refusing help! Refusing the one thing he begged the older to follow-through with every damn day! The one thing he never ever freaking forgot about. Was he fucking serious! He felt better? Like hell he did!
Hirano clenched his jaw as he glared towards him, his hand reaching forward, “Why are you being an idiot. Just let me-”
The 16-year-old glanced towards him, his green eyes meeting Hirano’s blue, before he leaned further against the doors, turning his forehead against the glass. The blonde faltered, his hand pulling back as Kagiura watched his movements through the windows reflection. A slight frown visible on the younger’s face, and the 16-year-old pressed his forehead further against the window as the same expression from before flashed briefly across his face. The same expression he showed every time Hirano touched him. The same one that pissed the older off. The same one that - wait…
The 17-year-old blinked as Kagiura pressed his hand against his stomach, his eyebrows furrowed before crossing his arms loosely against him. Was Kagiura… thinking about Hirano’s feelings? Was he refusing the blonde’s offer because he didn’t want to cross a line? To overstep? Fuck… was Kagiura protecting him?
Despite how horrible the younger had to feel, despite how horrible he looked, Kagiura was still thinking about Hirano. He was still protecting him, protecting his feelings - more concerned about respecting the older’s boundaries than making himself feel better. Hirano had drawn a line in the sand, and Kagiura was trying not to cross it. He didn’t want to make Hirano feel obligated to do something he was uncomfortable with out of pity.
Hirano swallowed hard, clenching his hand again as he glanced over the younger’s features. Kagiura was flushed, pink setting high across his cheeks and the bridge of his nose, sweat plastered down his face and neck, all visible signs his roommate was clearly running a bad fever. He was shivering, his breathing fast and shallow, and from his stance, it was easy for the blonde to see Kagiura was nauseous. His cough sounded rough, his voice sounded like sandpaper – and despite everything, despite whatever else Hirano couldn’t see, Kagiura was still thinking about him. Still more concerned with not crossing a line than he was on whether he’d faint or puke. Somehow knowing that, pissed the blonde off more than the stupid expression that crossed his roommate’s face every time they touched. Not looking happy, but sad, while they touched was one thing; not allowing the blonde to help because it might make Hirano feel awkward or out of place, was something completely different. If Kagiura wanted the comfort so damn bad, and Hirano was more than willing, his stupid roommate should take it – he didn’t even have to ask, all he had to do was accept it!
The same feeling from earlier washed over him, and Hirano glanced away quickly as the train approached another stop. Just because Hirano felt awkward around their dumb ten second touching, didn’t mean he didn’t like it, or he hated it; it didn’t mean he wasn’t willing to sacrifice. Especially now, especially if it meant it’d make the younger feel a little better. It wasn’t out of pity or obligation… it was because Kagiura looked downright miserable, and Hirano wanted to help. He wanted to take care of him; to make him feel better in any way he could. So, what if the older felt weird at first; Kagiura very clearly felt unwell, and the blonde wanted to do whatever he could to help. Even if it was something as stupid as holding his hand.
The train doors closed again as the next stop was called, and Kagiura pressed his lips together tightly, closing his eyes quickly as the train started moving. Hirano groaned before gripping the younger’s coat collar, pulling him roughly towards him causing the 16-year-old to yelp as his head made contact with the blonde’s shoulder once more. The older adjusted his stance as Kagiura struggled for a second against the sudden movement, and Hirano huffed, “Don’t be an idiot! It’s fine. Relax.”
The younger stilled, his back tense for a few moments before relaxing as all the tension left his body. He mumbled something against Hirano’s shoulder, letting more of his weight lean against his roommate as the blonde moved his hand from the back of his neck to his shoulder gently.
“I’m sorry we can’t sit down, Kagi-kun,” Hirano’s voice against his ear, the vocal cords in his throat vibrating with every syllable, “but at least our stop is next. And this should help if you’re feeling sick. Besides, you should just let me help, dumbass. There’s no need for you to suffer just because you’re worried about me.”
The 16-year-old winced, bringing his hand up slowly until he grasped the bottom of Hirano’s jacket between his fingers. The blonde let out a small gasp before adjusting his grip on Kagiura’s bag, tightening his fingers around the strap. His roommate’s breath against his skin was hot and fast, not to mention the rest of the heat radiating off him and the chilled sweat dampening the blonde’s shirt, was uncomfortable to say the least. Hirano could feel his own face turning red as Kagiura mumbled something again, his hand trailing further up the edge of his coat before dropping completely at the younger’s side as the train came to a screeching stop. Behind them, the train doors opened, letting on the final crowd before their stop, and the blonde grit his teeth, pulling Kagiura’s jacket sleeve closer to him as several people crowded next to them…

Fever care. FEVER. CARE. But specifically, fever care where the feverish one is just coherent enough to know what's happening.
Soft touches with the back of the hand on the neck, the cheeks, the forehead
Tracing fingertips lightly over sweat-damp bangs
Gently helping them sit up and lean back against pillows
"It's alright. You're not a burden."
"Your hands are freezing! And you're shaking. Let's get you back under the covers."
Guiding their head to rest on a shoulder while the medicine kicks in.
"You've always been the fragile one. I should have known better than to let you go out in the cold like that."
Cradling them to get them back to sleep as they run fingers through their hair

Kotaro, during his cold episode, gets worse. As his fever rises, he has a hard time acting as an adult thus showing his true 5-year-old nature, clinging to Shin like a child. He has nightmares of his mother refusing to touch him when he was younger without gloves, and his father finding him, breaking apart the small family he’s come to establish for himself these past few months. On top of that, through his delusional feverish mind, he’s worried Shin will see him as nothing more than a small child, a burden, too much work, and abandon him in the end like everyone else….
The anime deprived us of the true sick scene!! I wanted Shin walking around his apartment, carrying an emotional feverish Kotaro, trying to get the kid to calm down and freaked out because ever since his fever started rising and he started vomiting, the well-maintained facade of maturity Shin has come to associate with the 5-year-old, has been rapidly deteriorating. We saw part of it when he ran to the curtain in class to hide from the others when he felt sick, refusing to let go or come out of hiding/ admit he felt sick- this was a childish antic, and I wanted more from him!!!!
