Donnie, however, doesn’t seem to share his sense of elation. His eyes are wide, incredulous and disbelieving. A tremor goes up and down his hands, visible even this far away as an accusing finger locks on target. ‘What did you do?'" ------- Actions have consequences, and now Leonardo's paying the price. All he had ever wanted was for the pain to stop - for things to return to normal. Now that it has, he's about to realize just how much he has yet to learn. Or: maybe messing around with your dead father's scrolls isn't such a good idea. It is, in fact, a Very Bad Idea.

Summary: Lots and lots of unhealthy coping mechanisms wrapped up in a 22k word fic. Featuring: Bad Life Choices. Mind the content warnings in the AN and tags.

okay so-- it's at 9k words currently and nowhere near done lmao

expect it by next week though!

if things go well and i am able to keep up this enthusiasm and pace, i should have All that Glitters is Gold for the Fools all ready for beta-reading tomorrow :) after review and revisions, i might work on it a bit more and hold off publishing it until next week. idk.

it's looking to be about 10k words and full of Pain. lots and lots of the bloody thing

Out of what can only be considered morbid curiosity, Donnie stops. The question is worded with finality; there is no choice. It's a one or the other deal in presentation only. He can recognize a strong foe when he sees it.

His brothers seem to be thinking something similar, although the grinding of Raph's teeth is practically audible. He's been getting a bit smarter, a little less impulsive. Or perhaps it's just that Leo hasn't said anything yet.

Speaking of said brother, he's eyeing the stranger and making odd movements with his hand.

He's trusting Donnie to make the final call, something that wouldn't have happened a year ago.

Turning his eyes back forward, Donnie hesitates for only a second. "Alright, what kind of testing?"
