you know growing up felicia didn't have many friends. a lot of acquaintances sure, but friends she could count on ... not much. her personality would eventually drive most people away - it's always some type of fight with her, not really walking on eggshells but there's always that lingering feeling that she's about to burst any moment. vander and silco were just out of the mines for a while when she met them - there were rumors about a man who was planning something, always ushed and vague because there's ears everywhere.
her dad was adamant she stayed out of trouble. for his sake and her mom's, that is already so sick and doesn't need more worries. then one night, she's had enough - she takes the longer way home from the mines because there's more light, the air sucks but felicia grits her teeth ( a few nights before she was in a hurry, took the shorter path which is a whole lot darker, and got caught up in an enforcer testing her patience. later on she found out a lot of her female coworkers were also followed around on their way back home ). it makes her seethe with rage, pilties will think they're beneath then hunt them around just because nobody will believe the word of a woman, much less from zaun. so when she finds silco and he's indeed the guy she's looking for, felicia doesn't think this revolution thing has much future ahead ( he looks worse than her ), but then she takes a seat inside the last drop, tells her story and vander is so pissed off he offers to walk her home so nobody will try anything on her.
most nights after her shift she would wait for him to close, then they'd walk together until she was safe behind the door of her house. that kept happening even after years - except felicia would invite vander to dine with her family, her daughters always pleading him to play fight. anyone else in any other context would have been mad about the lowkey boxing classes happening in her living room ... but it's a shitty world, she'd rather know her kids can defend themselves. vander's seemingly pacifist personality was strange to felicia - he's a good listener, very attentive of other people's needs it would make her wonder if his cup was as filled as the ones around him by the end of the day. he made her worry a lot.
with silco was different, he was more difficult to cut through. complete opposite of her personality, always focused on his plans and calculations. there was a different understanding between them - he'd stay up late talking about assemblies, and she would rally miners. his thoughts brought as a message by her ... less cold, carefully crafted to show that it wasn't empty words and promises, there's actually so much work done behind the scenes. she gives the empathetic input of someone who knows struggles he can't fully understand one way or another, in return he gives her a place for all that rage to be useful. she never worried about him, because if she was an idealist then he was worse. their plans were the epitome of up to no good ... and it stayed true to the statement until the very end.

this is very important, jo doesn't see jody a mother, but she's the closest thing to ellen that there's left. they're close in age enough for jody to be more of an older sister, but jo owes her so much because... when she came back to life the only option was to stay with dean and sam and as much as she loves jo wasn't really ready to be around any of them
they were roommates in the beginning, and sometimes jo would offer help for research while jody would work on the actual hunt. it was nice, familiar, safe even. jody would listen and be understanding of jo being a 24yo with literally zero plans and a fuckton of nightmares she didn't know how to stop playing in her head
when jo decided it was time to get her shit together and get in the life again jody was supportive and always made sure jo knew she was always welcome in the house. jo would call every day to check in and swing by every now and then, even told her about the plans to get back to college
jo's also seen alex and claire get the same treatment and felt part of a family again --- and it felt good despite the little voice in the back of her head telling her she was replacing her mom and ash with strangers and they'd be ashamed of her. eventually she pushed the voice away, bonded with the girls, with donna, with patience, with kaia. saw her little new family grow and secretly sworn to protect them, take care of them because they would do the same
nowdays she doesn't spend as much time with them as she used to --- blame it on the end of the world, but they're always in her heart ( and on speed dial on her phone for anything )

jo's room walls are filled with pictures, draws of creatures she's never seen and pieces of newspapers that would declare the end of some strange case going on ( her dad usually being the one to pull the trigger and end it, but this she can't tell anyone ) and posters of singers she had heard of through her uncles old cassettes.
while the things thag give away her research are strategically hidden away from her mother's careful gaze, the pictures are framed and hung where they can be seen --- a memento that the people in there were in her life, that it was home and it was family and it was everything.
there's a picture of jo, ellen and bill smiling at the camera, a green backpack is hanging from one of her shoulders. they look normal and the roadhouse looks less like a dumpster and more like the treasure that is
a picture of jo with her uncles bobby, shawn and caleb, bill took it --- there's the light shadow of a fainger on a corner, he's never been good with these kind of stuff. ellen can be seen in the background with a cake
a picture of john winchester sitting at the roadhouse counter, glass of whiskey on a side and a book between him and little jo, who is pointing at something with a curious frown on her face, a caprisun box on her side
a picture of jo and ellen in the backyard, taken by shawn after one of the numerous lesson in hand to hand combat he'd give his "niece" after she got detention for hitting a boy who wouldn't leave her alone. on the back of the picture, in a scrambled handwriting, there's the phrase "a hunter is born"
a picture of jo and gordon at the roadhouse, looking at a grimoire he had found during one of his hunts
a picture of jo and ash sitting at a table, pieces of a computer sprawled on the wooden surface. jo is pocking her tongue out and ash is giving a middle finger. ellen can be seen rolling her eyes in the background
a picture of jo and rick, he's leaning against his bike, eyes fixed on her, and she's smiling sweetly at the camera
a picture with sam and dean post pennsylvania. she's making bunny ears behind their heads because she's childish like that
a picture of 16yo jo, wearing her dad's jacket despite being three times her size, a wide grin on her face as she looks at his old bike, now working again thanks to bobby's adjustments

thinking about in the off chance of felicia coming back ( my verse basically ) how she wouldn't regret being in the riot fighting for a better future, or being front row despite having two kids waiting for her, she wouldn't be mad that what killed her came from the same hand she knew so well. it's not okay because she lost time with her daughters, the "peace" achieved afterwards wasn't even real - but it's okay. there's no other way to put it, couldn't be anything else.

lil facts about solaria:
it's a star and is part of the solar system. it's closer to the sun than to the earth and being part of the magical dimension has a glamour that won't let humans see it
solaria has three suns / sources of light: the sun, the pillar of light, the moon. they all get classified as suns though because the moon is too far from the stars, and night isn't really a phenomena solarians get to experience. the pillar of light has a continuous stream of power than keeps the solaris -and as we saw in s5 solarians too in some extent- alive, to put it simple
people of solaria used to live in greece before the wizards of the black circle drained earth of all its magic, in the middle age. ancient solaria as we see it in s6 is a replica of knossos' palace
solaria is a republic and the solaris are just representative monarchy. however throughout the years the solaris have thrived financially through the foundation of SOL, a company that provides light and electricity to the whole magical dimension. solarians get it for free
there is an academy that is entirely paid by the royal family and accessible to every social class, where studies carry on from 6 to 19yo. the academy is specialized in teaching how to use light and dark magic, astronomy, philosophy, healing / medicine, clairvoyance and illusory magic etc...
a "branch" of the fairy amazons who left earth settled in solaria and named themselves maidens of the moon hunt. they have a representative in the solarian parliament and are considered solaria's national army
the solaris are believed to descend from apollo and run on a matriarcal line. queen eliana had two sons and was believed to be cursed. the solaris passed down through generation some sort of psychometry, to which they call the sight
in relation to that there's a huge temple in the city of valeria that was created to honor apollo. every eight year a new set of oracles is chosen during a huge parade in which children usually enact the story of solaria
there's a national game that's called magic lights and is essentially basket with a side of parkour

one thing about felicia is that she forgives but never forgets and honestly it's so interesting to me specifically because she can hold a grudge for ages, it festers until it's rotten and you'd never know - until she drops some sarcastic remark that leaves you there thinking "damn did she just lowkey ... yep she did ..."

in the verse where felicia comes back and it takes a moment to adjust to this new ( and not very improved ) zaun, she takes her time to study the dynamics at play - the last drop was her metaphorical home for decades, her daughters have grown up there both in her presence and absence for a while.
i mentioned a couple days ago iirc that she would be in utter disbelief seeing the chem-barons portraits, obviously they didn't exist as a group before her death, but upon being filled in about who they are and why they're there ... well, you can imagine her anger. an independent zaun obviously would have needed a counter council to the one in piltover ( which i guess it was already forming back in the days via the more known names of those involved in the revolution ), the problem is that the barons are greed oriented, capitalistic in all the wrong the ways - their need to control the mass doesn't leave any space for actual growth of the community.
i do think eventually she'd have to meet whoever is left simply because i guess they would come back the last drop since we know they did try to overthrown, attempt exchanges with topside especially of jinx, fight about who has to take over. felicia doesn't want a place at their table, but has to stay aware about what happens behind the scenes - that being said i think she would keep sevika close in those occasions, because she knows the events better than felicia ever could due to her absence.
( in the off chance of aus where silco is also alive, he gets an earful - felicia knows it's useless because ten years in it is what it is. she would still give her possibly unwanted opinion about meetings and decisions )

headcanon: about ash.
jo is an only child, and ash is the closest thing to a brother she’s ever gotten. before meeting, they had been internet penpals --- him being interested in her way too detailed family history and her finding his conspiracy theories funny. none of them seemed fazed about their conversation topics through the years, culminating in 2001 when jo’s hunt with gordon turned out to be a disaster and ash got kicked out of MIT
that same yeard they decided to meet, two reasons being that ash’s parents were disappointed enough to never want to do anything with him, and that jo decided to put aside her costant moping and picking up on archery again like bill had taught her ten years prior. ash helped her develope special types of arrows to use while hunting, and she helped him build the big ass antenna that graces the roadhouse backyard, much to ellen’s annoyance

thinking about felicia's lowkey "alright, fun is over" attitude as soon as her life gets turned upside down with the news - how yes kids make her sweaty but have never been out of the equation for her future ... it's just the timing. she was hoping to have kids in a different zaun because she knows well it's no place to raise children, instead she has to deal with the fact that they're nowhere close to the final step of the plan ( which is so ironic because she goes to the boys to tell them what's up and you see vander's attitude is kind of "ah yes, we can totally raise a kid or two" while silco is just "eh, let's make this plan move faster" ) and most of the baby responsibility will fall on her shoulders as time goes by, which means she won't even be able to help that much.
she really was the one to believe the most in the blisters & bedrock mentality ( she basically started it ) and like, to think even after her death nothing changed much / got worse if anything, would probably break her heart.
#that scene lives rent free in my mind because all three of them are literally on a different level of reality / delusion 💀#there's a whole universe where felicia got to have her daughters at the time she wanted#and she also had a job more akin to her attitude and that wasn't attempting to her health every over day#IF ONLY#the revolutionary. dev

here’s a sad thing. jo’s ( and ellen’s ) number wasn’t deactivated after she died because when the roadhouse was burned down every single trace of their lives had been erased --- no pictures, no videos, no postcards in jo’s neat handwriting. her voice saying “hey this is jo’s phone. you know what to do” was literally everything left of her. her number was eventually deactivated when bobby died and nobody bothered to pay the bill

okay but jo being alive is huge but also... not normal, somehow. jo was sent back to earth with a purpose, she just needed a solid body and a clear mind to follow osiris' orders. her being stuck on earth when he becomes incapacitated mainly mean a few things:
jo's aging process is a mess. she's 24, but she was not supposed to stay on earth for almost all of a decade. her skin doesn't decay like it would with a zombie, but it doesn't even wrinkle that much. by s15 you would never guess she neared 30, she literally looks ageless
she doesn't really need to eat or drink, but she does it anyway because it makes her look and feel normal. food tastes like carton and drinks feel all the same on her tongue, but she still remembers tastes from when she was alive, so it's easy to pretend
she doesn't breathe --- or better, she still inhales and exhales as a reflex but it doesn't change much if she just stops altogether. she hasn't figured this out yet so she always avoids holding her breath
insomnia has always been part of jo's package but now? she can feel emotionally tired but physically she can't feel a thing. she doesn't need to sleep, although it's not unusual to find her curled up in her bed, dim lights on, resting her eyes but being painfully aware of what's going on around her
her body doesn't register wounds and pain as quickly as anybody else's would. jo tries to avoid cuts because she doesn't even know if stitching would fix her skin or turn her into frankestein's long lost kid. if it does happen, she's found out angel powers can fix her real quick

btw jo would hate how dean's turned out to be in the last few seasons ( from s12-ish onward although he has his moments before too ) and even in her last appearance ( s7 ) she still looked at him through rose colored lenses as much as she dismissed it. sure, she mentioned that as a hunter he's good but at a person not so much, but that's not enough. you carry all kinds of crap you don't have to dean --- and nothing much as changed because dean still acts like he's made 99% of crap most of the time
jo is said to be the female version of dean, but she'd rather be caught dead before lashing out at people violently, yelling at them and treating them like garbage, because one's traumatic events can't be an excuse to cause pain to someone else. jo would loathe the way dean treats jack, would despise his tone towards castiel or sam, wouldn't like the constant control on everything and everybody, even those who he has no obligation to look after to because they are not his responsibility
there are lines to be drawn and i think at some point jo would be full of it enough to get the hell out of the bunker for long periods of time because she simply can't stand how much hypocrisy and bullshit come out of his mouth. does she care about about him? of course, she will always care --- because jo is a family oriented person and dean is legit one of the last people she's got left... but whatever sentiment she might have had towards him is long gone

headcanon: about college.
jo attended college for a year. since her mother was against an hunting career, jo figured she could major in criminology, or criminal justice --- or whatever felt close to her dream job honestly and still get away with it. six months in she loathed the professors, the classmates and pretty much college as a whole
the cause was mostly that everybody seemed to have their life figured out in way or another, and in none of these lives there was a hint of fear for the things hidden in the shadows. then again normal people would be prone to think that it was all just stories, but they clearly never had to create an elaborated system of lies to explain all the weird voids in their lives --- thing that in jo's case further alienated her from her peers for pretty much her whole life
she eventually changed major to study of mythology and folklore, but that died soon as well when it slipped during a conversation with ellen, and she quickly picked up on what jo was up to. she ended up coming back home, feeling kinda guilty for not going along with her mother's wish but also feeling relieved for not having to change to fit in

something i need to talk more about is how felicia never felt adequate to be someone's parent and while she still fell into the role more or less, that never really goes away. even coming back from stillwater she's hellbent on reconnecting with the girls but she doesn't know how, and her mind is set on having to show that she hasn't forsaken them ever by making a better, free zaun for them. so she'll spend time scheming and reacting and letting things slide because she's essentially in no position to tell them to do better but it's so hard.

some random facts about stella's brother, because as you know canon can bite me and i do what i want:
they're twins. he was born eight minutes before her but stella's grandmother suggested to switch the births around so that stella could be the legit heir to the throne
they have no psychic powers, there's no such thing as that. stella and kastor are literally like sun and moon, totally different--- still, sibling personality wise kastor is similar to radius and stella to celsius, enough said
they used to be close, but as i already mentioned in another hc, radius and luna divorced when the kids were seven. stella stayed with radius as she had to keep up with her royal studies, while kastor decided to go live with luna and allan on earth. he'd come back during longer school breaks
he's pretty much the only link left between stella and luna, and her new family by extention. kastor both his sisters equally and hates that they have little to none interaction due to his mother's behaviour towards stella in the past
he's known to vaguely look like sky, and that might be because luna and samara are sisters, and for some reason their kids all look like carbon copies ( sky, kastor and soleil are all blond, fair skinned and blue eyed, stella is blonde, a little bit tanner and with golden eyes but still )
he's a bookworm and has read every single book in the solarian library ( y'know, that one that is bigger than the alexandrian library ) and he knows a fuckton of dead languages that he learns for fun. unlike stella he never had to wear glasses, which is funny considering that one could always find him with his nose stuffed in a book
he was supposed to attend oskuria college but he was never interested in learning magic, which i guess was ultimately the reason why stella finally gave in to her grandmother's pleads and moved to finish her last three years at alfea
he doesn't have any sense of fashion, which is a tragedy because stella and radius are known to be fashion icons while he had a bowl cut for like most of his life
he's panromantic and asexual. his first crush was a book character. stella teased him for years about it but then he got her back when 16yo stella was suddenly very annoyed by the fact that brandon would flex his swords skills around other people that were not her. oh yes, a real tragedy - cit
he and stella get out of the loop quite often because she's always travelling. at 19 he moved back to solaria to work as guardian librarian, and they started finding time to catch up. they play 20 questions like the absolute dork children they are
he watched solaria crumble to the ground under countess cassandra's tyranny. during that time he was kicked out of the castle and forced to hide in his mother's home planet, callisto, secretly aiding solarians that were in danger while coming up with plans to get the castle and radius back. he was never under the influence of valtor's mark, so he had front row tickets to every single ugly thing happened in hos family because of the countess

also i think i was talking about it ooc a while ago but ?? one thing about felicia is that she probably felt very lonely throughout her journey with motherhood. she couldn't work while pregnant, definitely couldn't work after giving birth and not at least until violet could eat / drink / sleep on her own. repeat with powder. in those months possibly years, connol was probably working for two so that they wouldn't lose the paycheck, and she was at all effects basically a single mom in the house. and sure the guys would help and she's infinitely grateful for that but at the same time she was legit just living for the girls. going back to work was good for her socialising but it was torture because a) she's always hated mining and b) she missed her kids
#fel and connol weren't serious when she got pregnant and he still took responsibility not once but twice ( as he should have )#he was fighting for a better future for his daughters too and worked his ass off probably missed so much about their lives and milestones#and it makes me so sad because i fear the girls didn't really know him nor remember much about him at all#the revolutionary. dev

headcanon: about love.
this is something between an headcanon and a concept, but whatever. it's no secret that jo was supposed to be a love interest, but let's explore for a second how she acts on her feelings
first of all, we see through her blog that she had a crush on gordon. now, in the majority of posts she idolises and romanticises him and his skills as a hunter, her major points for liking him being "he's badass and he's hot" which is true in some extent, but eh. jo has known gordon for almost all her life and at some point it turns out she likes him because gordon treats her like an equal --- thing she can't say of her fellow hunter friends/family. her crush seems to fade as she grows up, which is good since y'know, he's a young adult and she's literally a kid
then there's rick, jo's first love and somehow serious relationship. we learn through the blog that rick is a good kid and a decent hunter --- ellen doesn't even seem to be too bothered by the fact that they're dating ( although in a second version jo mentions they're keeping it secret for a while ) and jo literally goes on a rant about how they fought alongside each other and were in sync and she never felt that way with anyone. he also appears to be good for jo in a sense that she seems to be moving on with her grief with his help. rick disappears sometime before jo's introduction in the show, and according to her posts she goes from worrying to making up her mind he won't come back to keep on leaving him messages and reminders to give her a call. he never does
finally there's dean. now, it's commom knowledge that she had a crush on him but y'know, it's different somehow because she just likes him for his looks in the beginning --- he's cute and knows how to do his job, which is basically her type of guy since she was 13. she also can't stand him though, because dean does something that gordon doesn't, aka trying to push her away from working as a hunter, go do what other young adult people do... and she hates him because he sounds like ellen. then on the same day, they become best buddies over sharing their daddy issues, and i guess that's what set jo on liking dean more than hating him: they sort of mirror each other in a way. however, the thing i absolutely love is that unlike with gordon ( with whom she did the most dangerous sort of shit hunting wise ) jo stands her ground in a mature way and turns him down whenever she's got the chance, because she's 21 now and she's already seen tons of guys like him trying to get in her pants with cheap ploys and she wants none of that. i believe s5 was their peak, because she's 24 now and turns him down again, but also saves his life and gives him her shotgun. jo's death scene always makes me cry and their interaction too
i don't think jo loved dean though. i mean, she cared for him a great deal, and yeah she still thought he was cute, but i don't think they had a star crossed love or a sibling like relationship for that matter. they were familiar to each other and had potential, but for anything to happened they needed more time to sort their shit out, y'know
