     ah. well. it was bound to come up eventually. there’s been enough time, now --- obi-wan may have missed the intervening years, but darth vader is no longer an active threat to the galaxy. the histories are a little freer, perhaps. the hero with no fear --- if only the holonet news channels knew.  ( if only obi-wan had known, truly realized how untrue that title really was. perhaps he could have done something, before the galaxy fell apart. )  “ i certainly thought i did. ”  it’s half agreement, half chagrin. what he knows of anakin now... he can only regret that he didn’t, then. and that’s of little use to either of them.  “ he was... an exceptional pilot, a skilled jedi. ”  all the stories she would’ve heard already. obi-wan’s mouth quirks up to one side, just short of wry.  “ he had a kind heart, despite everything that happened. ---and no regard whatsoever for his own wellbeing, which caused me no end of concern. ”
