So it turns out trying to post weekly when there’s a lot going on is not a good idea. I got the drawing done a while ago, but didn't type shit, so I will quickly explain his backstory and how he met [REDACTED].

Tw for cult, torture, hints of body horror, murder, and maybe genocide???? (does killing an entire cult count as genocide, idk)

Author Wood (he/him) was a human of angel descent who was born in a cruel community that “experimented” back when Jack the Ripper was rampant, when Author turned 18, he got his halo (a ring of one word representing an aspect of anyone of angel descent, it could be a traditional one, jewelry, or a mark somewhere one their body). The moment the word death was revealed was the moment he was imprisoned and tortured up until somewhere between his late 30′s early 40′s, it was impossible for him to properly tell without thinking about the pain he endured, it’s so severe that his hair had turned completely white within a few years. Within that time, he promised himself to never become as apathetic or violent as his community when he got out. He managed to escape one day, realizing that if anyone lives, they catch him again, so he killed everyone in his community. He blacked out throughout everything then realized that he couldn't feel anything. It no longer felt cold, he no longer felt anything other than the wounds from his community trying to defend themselves closing up. He imeadieatly realized that he would never live a normal life no matter how much he tried, he broke his promise he made, and this was the consequence. He started running for days, feeling his skin breaking away from frostbite and growing back, it was the one thing he could feel, and he could feel the severe pain it brought, but it slowly got more and more muffled as he panics more and more, one day, he entered an abandoned library in Germany and stayed in there until the late 1940′s when the library was entered by builders who planned to re build it. When he thought they were members of his community, he blacked out until he was waiting in line for a plane, hearing about the recent killings....his killings. He boarded the plane to the USA and started a cycle of starting to work at a library or bookshop, having his abilities be found out, and killing the person who found out, and leaving to another library. The cycle repeated until he started working at a bookstore in Chicago.

He had a reoccurring customer who constantly bought trivia books. One day, he got curious and asked about them. He then learned that the customer’s name was Spencer, and he’s been using the trivia books for a project (aka tmp, but he doesn't reveal that). They then started talking, getting mild feelings, but nothing serious. Then Author accidentally cut his finger off with a paper cutter in front of Spencer. They both start panicking because

1.Author chopped his finger off

2.Spencer, aka [REDACTED], realizes his curse just triggered and is worried about hurting Author

3.Author is worried Spencer will find out about his ability and get him in danger

Spencer is trying to figure out what to do, when he see’s Author’s hand regenerate. Author is panicked about having his secret revealed, but Spencer reassures him by taking off his glasses (revealing his actual eyes) before temporarily fading into a shadow before fading out of a shadow with specs of blood still on his sweater. They both briefly explain each other situation and Author spends the night at Spencer’s house (platonically). As they continued to hang out, they opened up to each other more and more, explaining each of their pasts in detail, sharing passions, to they point they became a couple and got bracelets in honor of it. Now Author is a bit more open to people, but makes sure that Spencer gets sleep due to the fact he’ s a workaholic.

Updated lore, All characters with abilities, and Announcement

Sorry I failed to keep the promise of posting when party pack 9 got out. To make up for it, I’ll post a new list of all of the characters and their abilities but first, I should also get into the other types of abilities. Keep in mind it also has stuff to do with genetics, not everyone can develop an ability in this au.

Tragedies (T) are curses or magic that are a result of trauma. For example, if someone was nearly drowned, the can develop water breathing. Once someone develops a tragedy, the can’t give rid of it.

Comedies (C) are blessings or magic that developed as a result of life changing events. Being accepted into your dream college can grant you the ability to read books without opening them.

Sins (S) have nothing to do with religion (religion doesn’t really exist anyway?) they are abilities that are gained by doing horrible acts, the one thing all of these have in common is those with sins gain immortality, so they can't die of old age or natural causes, however they can still die. Sins also tends to corrupt an individual, but having a support system prevents that for the most part.

Blessings (B) are rewards or a result of a deal. 

Lores (L) are abilities that are learned or developed via scientific means

Hearts (H) are abilites that are biological or with in bloodline. they can also be recieve when someone get’s reincarnated or revived

Mechanics (M) are mainly exclusive to robots, but they’re abilities built with technology

Objectal (O) abilities used via object like a pocket watch

okay, not technically anything to do with the au, but funny story relating to jackbox fanart

I got into an art program (not specifying) and for the summer project, I had to choose a picture and recreate it in different art styles, I chose sewing machine. One of the rules is also to not draw fanart (for copyright reasons, learned this after the project was turned in) What I realized is that considering [Redacted] and a lot of other Jackbox characters don't have Cannon designs (yet), I can still do Jackbox fanart. So what did for the summer project was for one of the styles, I did fanart of redacted using a sewing machine. They’ll never know :)

Oh okay okay, so when you say Felicia can inject chemicals to turn people into monsters and back (except serial killer and presumably monster hunter), is it implying that the transformation's temporary, or is it kinda like her where she has to hide her true monstrous form? Nice to hear she has a much more fortunate outcome :)

Well when they get injected (or assigned the role) they get the abilities of the role, but don't fully transform until they get revealed. It wears off a few days after the last night

Gonna explain Monster Seeking Monster at some point? :O

Alright time to talk about Felica, there's no art currently because I can't draw tentacle monsters well and I'm currently bit lazy, but if you want to know what her true form look's like, she looks like L'netta from sucker love if she was purple and grey/gray and without wings. Anyway...backstory time

Tw-drowning,death

-Felica was born in the mid 1800's in a family of land owners in britan

-When she was 20, she started sailing to America with her fiancée, arranged to marry.

-At some point a group of sirens attacked the ship, trying to lure everyone off board.

-Felica panicked and jumped in to save her fiancée, inevitably Drowning in the process.

-She soon woke up in a cave near some form of spider lady, aka Laverne Cavern

-While yes she was revived as per request, there was a side effect, she was turned into a tentacle monster, and a side effect is that the form ends relationships for one reason or another

-As the years went by, she developed the ability to view someone's sexual preferences and help relationships grow, basically becoming a love doctor

-She also befriended a bunch of serial killers, including [REDACTED], helping them with their curse by bringing victims to him to kill.

-When [REDACTED]`s wife died, she tried to use cupid between him and another woman when it didn't work. She imeadieatly that he was homosexual and somewhere on the aro spectrum, but kept quiet about it until he actively came out to her.

-A few years later, she found a bunch of mysterious chemicals and used them to temporarily transform people into monsters and back in Monster Seeking Monster (or most of them)

-If you get the serial killer role, instead of being injected with chemicals, you end 3 criminals who have actively been a danger to society (with actually evidence)

-Felica in the mean time attempted to go into relationships again, bit to no avail until she meets Lady Raven at the hotel and meets up with Lavern again.

-She ends up in a relationship with both of them (she's polyamorous) , however a month into the relationship, she accidentally revealed her true form, and panicked

-She was worried that the relationship was going to end, however they both stuck on her side, pretty much bending the curse in her favor by admiring her form (and no not in a tentacle kink way you dirty minded fools) resulting in her being much more confident in her true form, and due to both her girlfriends being immortal and actively communicating to avoid being toxic, the relationship isn't going to end anytime soon.

-Felica is pan and uses she/her pronouns

-There will be more info added eventually, currently brain farting

the blood lust curse history

Alright time to talk more about the blood lust curse. 

Tw-blood,murder,and any other possible issues, idk

The curse has only effected [REDACTED]`s family and the dectectives in weapons drawn thus far (will explain how the detectives got later on) and the following will result in the person being affected:

-Anyone biologically related to the original curse holders

-people who have been added to the family (via marriage or adoption)

-people with the blood lust curse casted directly at them

The only way for the curse to end for good is for the entire bloodline to die. A way for the curse to be dispelled individually is basically being disowned by the curse (this can happen if you’re an asshole and pass the curse’ personal boundaries) and if that happens, that’s a bad thing ironically, because there’s a high chance of dying and disappearing into a puff of dark gas afterwards.

Now when someone gets the curse, the urge to murder starts off as something akin to intrusive thoughts. Once the person takes a life for one reason or another, the murder urge intensifies to the point it’s irresistible. It comes in waves, but can be triggered by severe stress and seeing anything “violent”, even a nose bleed can trigger the curse. Here are some warning signs that the curse a about to force someone to kill one way or another:

-Sudden rapid thoughts of murder

-blood tears

-sudden apathy (depends on the person)

-Symptoms of panic attacks (depends on the person)

-sudden distancing (happens when the person is near people they care about)

If the curse isn't treated in time, the curse takes over and does it for you. Thankfully it can also be dispelled temporarily by the following:

-Having an animal (especially cats) nearby to “eat the darkness”

-focusing more on hobbies

-practicing self care 

-harnessing the magic of the curse into something else (like another magic spell)

-already killing on a regular basis (the route the majority of redacted’s family chose)

Another thing about the curse is that is basically has a get of jail free card with death, so if one died once with the curse, don’t worry, they got revived about an hour later. They died again, whelp, they’re gone for ever, unless someone knows any revival magic.

The curse tends to form as a dark never ending cloud (and some previous people with the curse have slept with in it before, it’s like the void)

I will go into more detail about each family member afflicted with the curse in the future

Oh crap, it’s Schmitty’s birthday? Better post this now Disclaimer:Yes, I know Schmitty most likely looks a lot like his Voice actor, but I’m taking creative liberty into his design that would probably change later on. I don’t draw Schmitty as often as I draw [REDACTED], so the design sheet isn’t really great. Anyway, let’s get to his story in this AU.

TW:Kidnapping and Unlawful Human Experimentation(I don’t know if that stresses anyone to the point of needing a trigger warning, but be warned)

-Josh “Schmitty” Schmitistein (I hope I spelled his last name right) was born and raised in Chicago in the 1970′s

-Before being a YDKJ host, he breifly worked at a phone network company (This fact was based off of his voice actor voicing the AT&T customer service bot look it up)

-When he heard his rival from highschool was working for the show, he joined out of spite

-Spite never even imagining being famous at all, hosting the TV edition of YDKJ got a lot of attention, which put a target on his back.

-Before Vol 3, a group of illegal scientists kidnaped him (and a few other small celebrities) in order to test their Quiplash serum in order to artificially create magic and figure out how desperate does one have to be to be funny 

-They did this by turning them into quips and having comedy competitions and the winner get’s food, the loser is more likely to die of starvation.

-A few months in, Schmitty figures out how to completely control Quiplash, and escaped to Cookies house, and called 911.

-The police search the abandoned lab and found the only survivors were the earliest tests of quips that lost all humanity, the others that were there were either killed or taken somewhere else.

-Schmitty, reluctantly took them in order for them to have a chance to turn back into a human in the future

-In the mean time, Schmitty discovered that he can change one of his hands into a quip form, he can defy gravity in his quip form(as in if he jumps mid transformation, he doesn’t fall down), he is pretty much indestructible in his quip form, and being in the quip form for long periods of time hurts....a lot

-In YDKJ:The Ride, when he fell to the bottom, he hit his shoulder on a rusty piece of metal, causing horrific scarring. (don’t worry, he got a tetanus shot afterwards.

-After hosting a few more YDKJ shows, he realized it wasn’t working out for him so he retired and just read sponserships.

-He also picked up videogame dev as a hobby, when he thought of an idea.

-As a big fat “Fuck You” to the people in charge, he made a non-serious videogame based off of the event called well Quiplash. 

-When the game went viral, he quit completely and focused more on being a game designer.

-Around the time the sequel came out, he, Cookie, and his writer friend, Spencer Ham, met up again a year after YDKJ’s final season, meeting a government official Adal.Thus began Trivia murder party.

-Out of the 4 hosts he wasn’t very good at it, nearly got caught a couple of times, thankfully Adal erased any evidence.

-In 2018, Binjpipe came to ask him and Cookie about hosting a YDKJ reboot, he declined being more intrested in being a game designer. That was the second to last time he ever saw Cookie again (for now, the very last time will be explained in Cookies story)

-About a year later, he was dragged into a shadow portal all the way to the recentally opened Hotel in Germany. 

-[REDACTED] casually kidnaps him and he decided , in order to help his friend out he should create a TMP specific version of quiplash.

Now some fun facts about him

-He was medically diagnosed with Intermittened Explosive Disorder aka Anger issues.

-He is Bisexual with a preference for woman and uses He/Him pronouns

-He’s been through 2 divorces in his life time

-His and Cookie’s rivalry has the same energy as Dj Grooves and Conducter’s rivalry in a hat in time(minus the possible bird racism or any racism really), so yeah, they are very fruity

Disclaimer, these are not all of the employees and I didn't draw their full outfits to get it out quicker. Without a further a do, introducing the employee’s left to right.

Tw for brief mentions of arson, murder, cancer, and SH

Axen (he/him) was born an aquatic siren in Florida right before being taken away and put into a circus to perform for 20 years. One day on the way to another show. The cart he was in caught on fire. As he tried to put it out, the gas tank exploded on his right side. The initial impact resulted in him passing out and waking up in an abandoned house along with the survivors of the fire. Yeah, long story short, he is a trivia murder party survivor (will add more details of his game in the future) and he was given a place to live. Shortly after marrying his current husband and adopting a child, he bumped into the host of TMP himself, [Redacted], after he committed a murder in the alley way. He was understandable upset due to him being the cause of the fire, but he then explained the Bloodlust curse and his reason for even making the morbid trivia show, and apologized for it. Axen weirdly forgave him because he was more upset about the lasting burn scar and not that he was in Trivia Murder Party because if that never happened, he’d probably still be stuck in the circus and pretty much never living a normal life outside of performing and travelling. Up until a year before the hotel officially opened again, they ended up becoming pretty good friends. One day, his friend offered a job if the hotel staff when it opened again. Axen pretty much said “Fuck it” and got hired. Also considering he was the first one hired, he got to choose what job he got and he chose to be a part of room service because he doesn't want to use his voice for the sake of entertainment. 

Elizabeth (he/him) Is most likely the only one that doesn't have any form of magical abilities, though he was born with an war mutation, giving him pointy ears. Elizabeth used to work at a family farm that often has dead bodies dumped into the pig pen because the area was close to a town with a serial killer problem. At school they were constantly bullied at school for the elf ears, that plus dealing with the result of brutal murders and gender dysphoria cause him to deal with mental issues, but not wanting to stress his family, resorted to unhealthy coping mechanisms, which nearly killed him. Thankfully his parents found out, took him to the hospital and got him therapy. He later came out as Trans Masc and changed his name to Elizabeth. He started saving for top and bottom surgery by watching the pig pen to catch any serial killers trying this stunt. One day he felt an ache in is leg. This turned out to be cancer, so he had to pretty much dump his savings to not die. They did remove most of the cancer and part of his upper jaw after surgery, he still had to deal with half a year of Chemo therapy. Thankfully he survived, and considering everything, moved to Germany for a better chance of the same thing never happening again. He decided to get a job at a soon to be open hotel. What could go wrong? He later found out that the owner was not only one of the serial killers he caught dumping bodies that never got arrested, he was also the Trivia Murder Party host and member of the cursed family that originally owned the hotel. He decided to get the job anyway because it ended up being an opportunity to pursue his dream to become a comedian.

Jax (They/Them) grew up in a pretty terrible home, their parents were addicts and burnt them a couple of times, resulting in their tragedy, Phoenix, developing, giving them not only pain residence to fire, but the ability to create fire. At the age of 15 they snapped, burned their house down with their parents inside, and became a serial arsonists. When he was 18, they tried to burn down an old hotel, but the moltov cocktail they threw, got thrown back at them. They then looked up to see the owner walking towards them with a fire extinguisher. “Maybe make sure no one is at the building to stop you, asshole.” Jax fully expected him to call the cops to arrest them, but instead he took them under his wing and have them help out at the hotel to stay out of trouble, while being paid of course. They are the only one who don't know that he is the trivia murder party host.

Stora (she/they) currently doesn't have that much of a backstory. Stora was a part of royalty that associated with the hotel a lot during her youth. When they grew up, she decided to get a job just to have an experience outside of her kingdom, found out the hotel was open again, and started working there for nostalgia sake.

Ameala(she/her) is the only one that interacted with [Redacted] directly. She was a contest of Monster Seeking Monster and got second place with the role, serial killer. Here are more details about the au’s iconic Quiz Killer (loosely based off of Cannon lore and head cannons) Tw:death, murder, death of child, drugs, abuse.

-Spencer “[REDACTED]” Ham was born in the early 1980′s somewhere in Germany, making him the youngest of all his siblings with them being in their mid 20′s

-They are a part of the 5th generation of the bloodlust curse along with his Nephew and slightly older cousin, Aloysius.

-He and Aloysius bonded over the show YDKJ which aired in the 90′s (more on what YDKJ is in the au in a later post) this would later inspire him to make trivia murder party.

-Up until the age of 11, the hotel was (legally) open and owned by the weapons drawn Narrator, aka Lady Raven (more on her in a later post)

-At some point, the adults of the family got into a massive argument, resulting in Raven pretty much being kicked out.

-The last birthday gift from her that he received were 8 dresses, however their dad imeadieatly destroyed them because toxic masculinity and homophobia.

-The few pieces of the dresses that survived eventually became the fabric used for the player dolls

-at some point in his late teens, he pretty much snapped, and ran away from his family to America, specifically Chicago, Illinois.

-During his time there, he attended college and got a masters degree for writing, meeting someone named Eloise, which would eventually become his now ex-wife.

-He also met Schmitty and Cookie at some point and gave him a job as a writer for YDKJ

-When he thought everything was somewhat perfect, he’s married, and has 2 children, one biological, one he adopted (aka Toby, not the pattonly stupid host), his dad found out where he’s been the entire time.

-On the worst night of his life, he, his wife, and his biological child both died, Toby barely survived, but gaining a tragedy in the process.

-He later got revived and learned that everyone in his family but Toby and Dad was dead.

-the incident resulted in a slew of issues including a drug addiction (specifically Crack) and being severely over protective over Toby, which resulted a strain in their relationship.

-To clarify, no , the effects of the drugs didn't make him abusive in anyway, but it resulted in his overprotectiveness go into the extremes, as in if you even accidentally hurt Toby, you’ll pretty much be dead on sight.

-Eventually he realized his way of coping wasn't helping at and went to get rehabilitated from them. Pretty much the little amount of his life he had back on track again.

-at some point in 2011, he had the misfortune of witnessing the “zombie incident”, resulting in him discovering that Cookie has a body count (in a murder way obviously)

-Shortly after YDKJ ended (for now), They got hired as an assassin after meeting Adal (Guespionge host). He would eventually give him the nickname “[REDACTED]”

-In a reunion in 2016, Cookie, Schmitty, Adal, and [REDACTED] come up with the concept idea of Trivia Murder Party on the basis of the fact they know that [REDACTED] has the bloodlust curse and he always wanted to host a trivia show

-They all eventually went “Fuck it” and made it a thing. [REDACTED] was the main host while Cookie, Schmitty, and Adal became back up hosts.

-Before the voice filter changed into the masks, it was a in the microphone, which broke about a few months in, resulting in the voice filter fails in the actual game. 

-After the video game Quiplash took off, Binjpipe offering a YDKJ reboot, and Adal being bored, they all left TMP, making [REDACTED] being the sole host of TMP

-A few years in, He received a letter, specifically a will from his biological dad, giving him a ton of money and the Hotel that has been closed for months. With a few days of wondering what to do, he decided to take tmp to the hotel.

-At the time, Toby also became a forensic Scientist, and got assigned the case about Trivia murder party. Toby knows exactly who’s responsible, but says absolutely NOTHING for three reasons, One, because spite everything, he still views him as a father figure, Two, he would deal with a slew of questions if they found out, and the final reason will be revealed in his specific post.

-on Easter, He officially moved into the hotel, cleaned it, hired some staff to help out and giving the illusion that the hotel is a real hotel (specifically people he previously encountered at some point, will be revealed in the next post) and opened the hotel once again

Alright basically story out of the way, along with some facts.

-Spencer is naturally blonde, but dyes it regularly

-He is homosexual and uses he/they pronouns, everything else he has no clue about

-Has Autism and C-PTSD 

-Doesn’t get drunk very often, but has once gotten so drunk, he performed the entirety of the Beetle Juice Musical, being every single role. He also attempted to try the heathers before passing out. This is just a funny head Cannon I came up with.

-The reason why he kidnapped Schmitty was because he missed his friends and he was the only one he could find because he doesn't know about the Binjpipe situation, resulting in them assuming that he was very busy and he knows full well Adal was busy too. They both decided to add a Quiplash round in tmp for the hell of it.

-[REDACTED] is an animal lover, having a lot of pets, at least 2 dogs, muffin, and apparently a Bat.

-At some point, he impulsively sewed fabric on his arms

-Wears glasses in public to hide his eyes which is a result of blood lust

-In this au, he got the French tipped nails (slay)

Edit: I was originally gonna make him Pansexual, but I recently got reminded that [REDACTED] is not into O.P.P according to detective chambers. According to google, O.P.P equals other people’s p*say, while yes it is a song, I like to think this is Chamber’s way of calling him gay, so I guess he’s a homosexual now and was in the closet when he was in a relationship his now dead-ex-wife.

Au explanation

This was originally going to be an angst heavy au with all of the hosts getting some form of backstory, HOWEVER I was struggling to work on it a bit, so I decided to completely overhaul the first storyline and have it be more focused on Redacted and the employees and not “recreate” tmp 2 with my own twist. There will be angst but it’s not to the extreme as intended. 

In a world full of magic of some shape or form, there is a rare type of magic called tragedies. A tragedy is a power or ability that stimmed from some form of traumatic event and can include curses and illnesses like supernatural madness. This is not the only magic type, but I’m working on it.

Here are the jackbox hosts with tradgedies:

Spencer “[Redacted]” Ham-  bloodlust (the family curse that forces one to kill), super natural madness(the ability to see ghosts with severe hallucinations as side effects) and Sew bending (the ability to manipulate fabric)

Schmitty: Quiplash (the ability to change into a quip, he is the only one with this ability)

Lady Raven “Narrator” - bloodlust and inkflow(the ability to control ink)

Lord Tippet- bloodlust and time loop(ability to make and maintain a timeloop)

Cookie Masterson-Growth (the ability to produce and control flowers at will, however ends up coughing flowers when sick, similar to hanahaki)

Laverne Caverne-Monster gas(constantly breathes a type of gas that changes one into a monster after prolonged periods of time)

Felica-cupid(the ability to develop anyone’s relationship from platonic to sexual as long as it doesn't change the person in question’s romantic or sexual orientation and they’re adults, basically she can’t make an aroace person get into a sexual and/or romantic relationship, she also can’t make two 16 year olds go on a date), love reader(can learn anyone's “preferences” when making eye contact), and lovesick (if she get’ into a relationship in her human form, when she reveals her true form, it’ guaranteed to end imeadieatly)
