imo the reason the racism doesn't get talked about as much is because it's not easy to "fix" with tumblr posts about "what if it was like this." most of spn's racism is like. one-off characters who are written in a racist manner or the general LACK of poc. outside of getting invested in rewriting henriksen/kevin/billie's storylines (which i've seen), there's not a lot of ways to engage with the racism in supernatural beyond being like "this is bad." (which is IS)

this is just plainly not true like idk if ur new here or what but supernatural is racist in a way that u cant fix just by rewriting a couple side characters lol like the show is quite literally 1. built around protecting white suburbia from a monstrous Other which is an Inherently Eugenicist Concept 1a. especially considering that this monstrous Other is almost always condemned to death because they’re written as inherently evil and unable to escape that evil 2. entirely based in white christian mythology positing the christian god and the christian heaven/hell and the christian ideas of sin and morality as the absolute guiding forces of the universe and i HOPE i dont have to explain how thats racist 2a. especially considering that all mentions of NON christian spirituality are bastardized when they are, by chance, mentioned. there is just about infinite ways to engage with racism in supernatural youre just white

not to spnpost but i cant stop thinking about kripke's original script for the pilot describing sam as the luke skywalker of the series and in the context of how the show plays out thats so goddamn funny. it's like if in star wars luke started using the force but instead of tolerating it, han kicked his teeth in and leia called him a freak and at the end of a new hope he just stopped and no one ever brought it up again
