Bone spider remodel!

Originally, these spiders are from Minecraft Earth, & since that game is no longer available, they kinda no longer exist in any way within Minecraft, which is a shame. I'll be bringing them back for my mod, though.

I changed the palette up a little bit so that the bone patterns look better on it, & moved the "skull" texture to the abdomen. Otherwise, it follows the same general proportions as in my spider redesigns.

Like in Minecraft Earth, these critters will spit Bone Shards at the player. They'll spawn in the place ov spiders in deepslate level caves, as well as in dark forests. The bone spider is larger than regular spiders, but will still only be the third largest spider.

It's rly frustrating / funny trying to explain how Void Stranger is tonally a souls-like bc like. The meme "[x] is the dark souls of [y]" is so overplayed but like. In this case it's actually accurate way beyond just "its hard" 😭

More accessible version; you could obviously argue for a lot ov different time signatures, but when actually Playing the song, the rhythm does follow two bars ov 6, 1 beat, 2 bars ov 6, then 2 beats. Time signatures, as always, are more about the Feeling ov the song, & it isn't Uncommon for a song to have a single beat ov lead-in, & the way L's theme is written definitely evokes similar strength on these; vibe-wise, it really feels like each 6+6 doesn't have an appended 1 or 2 beat but rather that it's Prepended to the next sub-verse. It's super weird & keeps a feeling that you're On Your Toes, like every time you start to get comfortable with the rhythm you Trip a little bit, which is super fitting for the themes ov the show. It's kinda brilliant.

hot take there's no such thing as canon, adaptation does not meaningfully exist outside product iteration for a property that is not inherently the deciding factor for what defines the devices contained within individual vs subsequent works.

Also like. Time loops as a Genre vs as a Mechanic r very different too like. Time traveling Intentionally is often more "regression" than "time loop" imo, esp with the themes it plays with being more about fixing your past than being a prisoner ov your own mortality. Both play heavily with grief yes but in two very different ways.

I went to the notes on that post expecting good time loop story recommendations but instead seeing the absolute worst takes like Actual zero reading comprehension. Hadestown is literally not a timeloop. The Good Place is not a timeloop. HOMESTUCK???? ISNT A TIMELOOP..... just. what the FUCK are you talking about dot png.
