Hello! Hello! I’m back with another post!

So i did a CAS collab with @thesirensims and here is my side!

First ya’ll need to go check her out! Go right now! She is a super sweet, amazing person and she deserves more!

Anyway, lemme say a few words about my sim.

Regina Banks is the fraternal twin to @thesirensims sim, Dorothy! Regina’s  aesthetic is barbiecore and well, you can tell.

Personality wise, she is just like barbie, she’s nice, kind, loves her family, animals and all that good stuff.

Equestrian World: Capaon Anghofion

This world is, quite simply, gorgeous. It was created by Sugar's Legacy Stables, who has? had? two different websites, apparently, and also seemed to be active on the official forums around 2013ish. But, this particular world is not linked from either of those sites, nor could I find any mention of it on the official forums. It is, however, included in this download folder, which is linked to one of the sites. I've had one of the worlds in it for a while, and when I re-found that folder when I was looking for some horse tack, I decided to check out the other worlds in it that I hadn't seen before. As it turns out, a lot of them are incomplete, some really incomplete, but some of them are pretty awesome.

Since I've never seen this world, and since pics of it don't seem to exist and I can't find any info about it, I thought I'd make a proper post with numerous pics for it and give as much info about it as I can. Because it is, as I said, gorgeous, and I'm sure a builder could have lots of fun with it. I will be doing the same for the other more or less complete worlds in that folder.

It is an equestrian world, as are 95% of the worlds in the linked folder. That usually means a big world with a number of 64x64 lots placed with no space between them (for building a multi-lot horse complex) and then lots of open, scenic real estate, often with trails for horseback riding, sometimes with an area for building a rabbithole "downtown" as well. Basically, they're usually big sets for picture-taking/storytelling, not really meant for normal-style playing.

This world, though, has two areas meant for a horse complex as well as two riding trails, but it also has an empty area to build a town/city as well as a number of smaller lots, including 10 already-built, non-farm lots. So, this can certainly be used for regular playing. You just have to build stuff or plop down pre-made lots or whatever.

There's more info and a lot more pictures behind the cut. But before that, just in case the folder linked above disappears, I also reuploaded the .sims3pack for the world here. It's always good to have more than one upload of older CC on the web, IMO.

Now some info:

Since there is no longer any published info about this world on the web, at least not that I could find, I can't tell you what EPs it requires. I have all EPs, and I recognize some of the deco and items used as being from Late Night, World Adventures, Pets (obviously LOL), Into the Future, and Supernatural, so I know it requires at least that.

It's a large world, I'm guessing 2048x2048, and almost all of that space is fully decorated with trees and water features. It also has a lot of visual effects, especially splashes and surf in addition to multiple waterfalls, so all of that might be an issue for weaker machines. It has all spawners except for nanites, including the fish ones from World Adventures, so collectors can do their thing in this world. There is CC included in the .sims3pack, which as far as I can tell is used in the pre-built lots. I didn't install it in order to take these pics, and some of the lots were missing doors/windows, for instance. So, if you're not going to keep the pre-built lots, then you probably don't need to install the CC, and if you do keep the pre-built lots, it'd probably be easy to replace the objects if you de-sims3pack the file and choose not to install the CC.

Now, here are some pics taken in Edit Town, showing the lot layouts in various areas:

This is the city area and on the right-hand side is where the 10 pre-built residential lots are.

On the right side of this pic is 8 contiguous 64x64 lots where you're meant to build a multi-lot horse farm. Then, toward the upper left is three more lots, two of them also 64x64 where you can build individual farms.

On the right side of this pic is 4 more contiguous 64x64 lots that can be used to build a multi-lot horse farm plus there's a big, fenced pasture. Then to the left of those lots is one of the two horse-riding trails. You can use the four empty lots placed on it to place jumps and create a sort of cross-country course, if you want to.

And we'll finish with a few more pics, including ones where I forced some snow cover, because I was curious to see how the world would look in snow.

Equestrian World: Acaraho

This is another world created by Sugar's Legacy Stables for which there is a download in this download folder but few pics and little info on the internets about it, so I'm making a proper post. (These are pics of V3 in that download folder.)

This is a large, mostly-empty American-West-style equestrian world with lots placed, but it is not completely decorated. The parts that are decorated are lovely, however, and that area is enough to play in, I think. Of course, if you want to do more decorating and lot-placing and such with World Editor, that's certainly a thing you can do.

In addition to the standard equestrian world features of blocks of contiguous 64x64 lots for building multi-lot horse facilities, a riding trail, and scattered lots meant for picture-taking, this world has an already-built resort, an empty diving lot, and four ports built and ready for houseboats but no actual houseboats. (Though I do not think it would be advisable to move houseboats in the world, as there isn't really anywhere for them to go.) I've had this world for a little while in my own game, and I've been poking at making it a functional world off and on, changing the existing resort into a base camp so that the world can be used as a vacation world for horse people, using the Traveler mod.

That said, there is an old thread (from 2013) on the official Sims forum that has pictures of a more-built version of this world, and there is a Mediafire link to that version in that thread, but the link is unfortunately dead. This is the most complete version of the world that I've been able to find. If anyone happens to have that more-built version, I'd love to have it. Hah! I found it! Silly me assumed that V3 of the world would be the most complete. It isn't. V2 is the most complete version. It isn't much more decorated than V3, but it has more lots placed and lots of pre-built lots that are pretty nice, including houseboats. I'm not going to take more pics, though. You can look at the pics on the linked forum thread above.

Anyway, here is a link to a re-upload of the V3 file and here is a re-upload of the V2 file. just in case the above-linked folder disappears, and there are a lot more pictures and as much info as I know about the world behind the cut.

Those pics aside, I'd say about half to two-thirds of the world is unfinished in terms of decoration, so it looks more like this:

So, it's a good world if you like to mess around in World Editor, as I do. You can decorate to your heart's content, and you can place more lots anywhere you'd like. But if you don't enjoy that sort of thing, there's enough of the world that is decorated that you should be fine, too.

Now some info:

According to the creator's website, this version of this world requires all EPs. I think it's a medium-sized world and at least in its current not-fully-decorated state, I think it will run smoothly on most machines.

The world comes with a handful of CC, which I did not install. I'm pretty sure it's all used in the pre-built resort because there were items missing when I took pics of it. So, if you're not going to keep that lot as-is, there's no reason to install the CC.

In the official forum thread I linked to above, the creator mentions that they used Monte Vista lighting in the more-built version of this world. I don't know if that's the case for this version. All the pics on this post were taken with my lighting mod (one of Burntwaffles's) installed, plus Reshade, so YMMV.

Spawners are a little...odd. There are no seed spawners and no ITF ones. There are some underwater shell/bottle spawners placed in the otherwise-empty diving lot. But, only one insect spawned in the entire world, and all of the minor pets spawned on one lot in the world. I don't know why this would be, but the spawners appear to have been placed with CAW because if you open the lot in question in Edit World, the spawners don't appear. So, if you want to use this world for normal playing and you normally have your sims collect stuff, you should probably plop some spawners from debug mode on other lots to even things out. The rock/metal ones are already distributed well, but everything else is not. And then there's also...uh...this:

I imagine it's an underwater fish spawner, possibly meant for the diving lot, but it's placed on the same lot where all the minor pets spawned. So, a little weirdness going on there.

I should probably mention that I read somewhere when looking for info about these worlds that SLS deliberately did not use routing paint on any of them, so that sims can route anywhere in them. This can create weirdness, like the pizza delivery dude on the side of a butte here:

It also means that, say, sims on horseback can go pretty much anywhere. This is nice for picture-taking purposes, but perhaps not so nice in terms of routing issues when using the world for normal-style playing. So, just a heads-up.

Now, some lot-layout pics:

This is the main area of the world, which is fully decorated. It has a contiguous block of 6 64x64 lots separated by foot paths and then six more 64x64 lots in two sets of 3, with a road running down the middle. There are other lots for non-farms, too, and then some that are obviously meant for picture-taking scattered around. It has a long riding trail with some empty lots placed on it to use to take pics and/or make a cross-country "course." On the left of the pic is the pre-built resort, which has horse facilities and which looks like this:

Next, this is the area with the four ports, a lot that can work as a beach, and the empty diving lot. This area has some decoration, but I wouldn't call it fully-decorated:

As I said, if you build houseboats on the ports, they really don't have anywhere to go, but at least you get the aesthetic. :)

Zoste Patrikia: A Middle Byzantine Propoloma Accessory for TYAEF.

It’s a new year, and I’m back on my Byzantine nonsense as a break from the texturing long-haul of the bustle project and to give myself a quick “ooh fancy fancy” project. So have a propoloma as a Tres Reyes/Epiphany/Twelfth Night gift!

What is a Propoloma? 

During the early Byzantine empire, the “propoloma” was a simple turban, as seen on the iconic mosaic of Theodora in Ravenna (1). While most depictions show it on courtiers or saints, because Byzantine art tended to focus on courtiers and saints, it is by no means improbable that a Byzantine woman with enough fabric and time on her hands could give herself a nice turban to wear. It could be worn by itself, if the fabric was nice enough, or worn under a veil. 

By the 10th century, it had somehow transformed into a fascinating trapezoidal/pyramidal cone, usually worn over one’s maforion, or over one’s hair, whether worn loose or styled (2). This ‘new’ propoloma was almost certainly a court headdress or upper-class headdress, if only for reasons of practicality.

The propoloma was usually white, although the zoste patrikia–the Empress’ most high-ranking lady-in-waiting–wore hers with a purple stripe, and ladies of the Imperial family wore theirs in solid purple (1). Because this is the Sims, of course, you can make yours neon pink with zebra stripes if you so desire. 

Although a propoloma of a similar shape and orientation on the head is worn in a Byzantine depiction of David’s entry into Jerusalem, as illustrated in the 1082 Vatican Psalter (3), and in the iconic Venetus A illuminated manuscript of the Illiad, circa 900-1000 (4), I would like to clarify that this is probably not the most historically accurate shape or style! Most reconstructions (e.g. Levantia and Anna’s New Rome) show the propoloma as fitted around the wearer’s head (1, 2). However, it’s extant, it’s documented, and I think it has a certain charm, so I’m sharing this with all of you.

I did not create this mesh; I took it from Bipsouille’s TS2 Star Wars: The Phantom Menace hair. You can see the original here; as you can probably tell, I took off the danglies and the earmuffs, and retextured it so that the propoloma is now fabric-textured instead of hair-textured. I also removed the original overlays and created five masks; the “x” and diagonal stripe are from the eleventh century (1001-1100) and the horizontal stripes and horizontal stripes with bezants are from the twelfth century (1101-1200) (5). I am unsure if the original Star Wars headdress was inspired by Manchu liangbatou headdresses, Russian kokoshniks, or a combination of the two, as I am not familiar with all the varieties of either of those headdresses.

Bear Hat for Toddlers

An edit of the WA bear hat. Just rotated and pushed down a bit. Also cut open under the chin, to make it easier to combine with different outfits. It’s found under hat hair. 

As usual I recommend the WA-required version if you have the expansion. I also made a base game compatible one. I’m rather sure I imported all the textures - please tell me if I missed one.

Super Cute Decora-tion for children

Hoo boy I haven’t tortured myself with an adult-to-child conversion in awhile 🙃 This one presented some challenges in terms of normals around the neck, but the most frustrating part was finding a way to recolor as much of this outfit as possible while making sense of the mess of…all that. The scarf is now recolorable!

For child females. Everyday, Formal, Career. Not enabled for random. Custom thumbnails.
