they start with like the same first five notes, and also have the same key (f major) and similar bpm. that's called a motif
i just realised the klonoa 2 opening theme sounds like "masked strength". give me a second
#beyond the first five notes the melodies of the opening theme and ''masked strength'' are different#but they both sound very similar despite having different melodies and instrumentation#the opening theme has the piano melody. as well as some strings and glockspiel i think#''masked strength'' being leorina's theme features a harpsichord. but it's a part of the harmony#whereas the melody is played by. somethong. i can't identify what it is. glockenspiel 2? anyways it's supposed to sopping wet with sadness#or at the very least melancholy

there has to be a way to concisely refer to the genre of music i wish to make. you could probably call it just "electroniccore" but the electroniccore i've listened to doesn't usually have the defining characteristics of breakcore nor mathcore. this is like "electroniccore 2: autmistic furry music boogaloo"
it's a shame that i want to make music in a genre of music that literally has "math" in its name. mathcore. my dyscalculia
