dan's "basically i'm gay" video was the hard launch. you just have to read between the lines in the segment about phil. "obviously more than friends", "more than just romantic", and the fact that he said that he's someone who wants to keep the details of his personal life private "and so is phil". that is a very clear confirmation if you really listen to what he's saying. i truly believe that it was his way of letting us viewers in, like "yes obviously we're a thing but we want to keep the details to ourselves". we really don't need to know more than that, it's a "we know you know" situation. seems like they might be ready to let us in a little more though, in their own way, and i think that's beautiful. just like they have a secret language with eachother, now they also kind of have a secret language with us, considering they're blatantly showing that they're aware of the deep phandom lore.
