Inniskillin Winery
https://www.inniskillin.com/Niagara
Our last stop on our Niagara Trip was Inniskillin Winery located in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Anyone who is a wine lover or more importantly an Ice Wine lover will want to go to Inniskillin Winery. They are the 1991 winners of the Grand Prix d’Honneur, a competition that takes place in France. The type of traveller that would probably enjoy going to this winery would be young professionals, and seniors. These travellers will enjoy taking part in their $20.00 wine tour and tasting. Our experience was very interesting and educational. We started our tour in their wine library where we watched a short video about the owners and the picking of Ice Wine grapes, we also listened to our guide explain about the history of the winery and their accomplishments in the years since opening. We then went to the area where they ferment red wines and to the area where they de-stem the grapes. Our guide then showed us the rows to grapes at the front of the establishment and answered some of our questions about the types of grapes used for Ice Wine and the process of picking them. Our group finished our tour back in the main area of the winery where we could partake in a wine tasting. Our group would definitely recommend this attraction to anyone who is interested in doing it. We feel it’s a fun way to learn about wine making and Ice Wine since it’s a big part of our Canadian culture.

The Skylon Tower
https://store.skylon.com/
The third place we visited was the Skylon Tower. A little bit about the tower is, it stands 158m tall and peers over the Falls, it has an observation deck that circles around the tower for a view of the whole Niagara area. You’ll be able to see the casino, the Skywheel and believe it or not The United States of America! The Skylon Tower has spectacular views of Horseshoe Falls, a sight you won't want to miss! Prices vary from $16.24 for adults to $10.44 for kids (4-12), while children under 4 get free admission. These are amazing prices for the amazing experience that everyone can enjoy. From seniors, to adults, to teens, to kids all are welcome and are ensured an experience of a lifetime. The Skylon Tower has many visitors all year round and offers different experiences like, dining in the revolving restaurant, taking green screen pictures before heading up, and gift shops to end off the day. Our group had an amazing experience while we were up there, but Ivana was a little scared at first because she’s not very good with heights. Which goes to show that the Skylon Tower is for anyone even if you’re scared of heights. If Ivana can do it so can you! As a group we loved the view, not just of the falls but looking over at America and the city of Niagara Falls from above. Overall I would recommend this experience because it’s a sight you don’t get to see everyday and you’d be looking at one of the tallest waterfalls in the world from a breathtaking view! So make sure to go to the Skylon Tower the next time your in Niagara for a sight you don’t want to miss.

Scotiabank Convention Centre
https://www.fallsconventions.com
Our first stop during our Familiarization Trip to Niagara was a tour of the Scotiabank Convention Centre. This centre is the perfect place for industry professionals to host seminars and conferences. It’s a very spacious venue for any organization to host events like trade shows, and charity fundraisers. We were told that they have even hosted weddings in their smaller rooms. The type of traveller that would enjoy this centre would be young professionals, and business travellers who may be coming from out of town or country. My personal experience and my groups experience at the convention centre was enlightening. Our guide was Greg Higginbotham who is the marketing manager at the Scotiabank Convention Centre and he brought us on a tour of the whole facility. He showed our group the different rooms available for rent and told us about how they change the appearances of the rooms depending on the event. He explained to us how the centre is trying to be more sustainable by using locally grown and produced foods as often as possible, and that the facility has limited the amount of plastic they use. To end the tour he explained to our group about the history of the convention centre and how it was built to bring more business to Niagara Falls and its surrounding area. Our group highly recommends that you or your organization books this space for any event you are hosting. It’s a great space that can be changed in various different ways to meet your needs, and there are many hotels in the area for anyone who needs to stay overnight. We do recommend that you book well in advance because spaces do fill up quickly.

Niagara Fall Tourism
https://www.niagarafallstourism.com
https://fallsmeetings.com
After our tour of the Scotiabank Convention Centre we were given a Niagara Falls presentation which is really something that people should visit if they would like to learn a bit about the regions background, as well as what you can do to have a great time in Niagara. The type of person who would benefit from experiencing this presentation would be someone who is on a tourist board or in the tourism industry. Another type of traveller who would likely want to go to this presentation is someone who would like recommendations on what to do in Niagara. In our groups experience we found this presentation to be very educational and helpful. The positives about this presentation were that the presenter, Christina Marcotte, shared with us some highlights of things we could do in the Niagara region as well as different activities that happen in the region throughout the year. One of the highlights she mentioned was that during the winter they host a light festival which lights up the Falls. It is truly a beautiful sight for visitors. Another interesting point she mentioned was that the weather in Niagara Falls is fairly good all year round, making it the perfect place for any type of traveller. Christina also had a partner who spoke about the business aspect of the Niagara region and how they market the region so it stands out from its competitors. Her partner, Greg Higginbotham, went on to talk about how Niagara has followed a trend within the industry by opening their Niagara Falls Business Events sector. Our group would recommend this presentation for travellers who would like to learn about a tourist board and about the business events sector of the industry. This presentation was beneficial because it gave us the basics about the marketing and attractions of Niagara Falls.
