Nice view of the upper sedimentary layers in the Grand Canyon, from the Kaibab Limestone at the very top (Prominent layer is the Coconino Sandstone) and gets to the Redwall Limestone at the bottom.

The Czech Grand Canyon

As if you wandered off to Middle Earth, Velká Amerika resembles a canyon but is actually a manmade limestone quarry filled with water. The Czech affectionately call it the Czech Grand Canyon. Albeit considerably smaller than the latter, the pit has a length of 800 meters, a width of 200 meters and a depth of 80-100 meter. Averagely the quarry is filled with water to a depth of about 17 meters. Swimming is not recommended. The area contains numerous other quarries, many of them connected by tunnels.

The Rhine Falls (Rheinfall in German) is the largest plain waterfall in Europe.[1] The falls are located on the High Rhine between the municipalities of Neuhausen am Rheinfall and Laufen-Uhwiesen, near the town of Schaffhausen in northern Switzerland, between the cantons of Schaffhausen and Zürich. They are 150 m (450 ft) wide and 23 m (75 ft) high. In the winter months, the average water flow is 250 m³/s, while in the summer, the average water flow is 700 m³/s. The highest flow ever measured was 1,250 m³/s in 1965; and the lowest, 95 m³/s in 1921. The falls cannot be climbed by fish, except by eels that are able to worm their way up over the rocks.
