Thoughts on Good Omens Season 2
I haven't posted on Tumblr in years, but the airing of Good Omens 2 was enough of an occasion to spark me back to life. So just to give you a fair warning, major spoilers under the cut.
I binge watched the whole season in one day like an adult person. First of all, I loved it. It felt familiar and comforting to return to these characters and their world. Back when I first saw the first season, my life was in a pretty difficult place: there were some personal losses that had me feeling hollow for quite some time, and I was still figuring out my place in the world and within my family. Watching the silly adventure of an angel and a demon trying to stop the world from ending was a like warm, comforting blanket I could wrap around myself. So to be able to return to that, I'd say it was worth all the wait.
So, some thoughts about the second season.
Maggie and Nina
Based on the trailer, I was a bit suspicious about their place in the story. But they grew on me lightning fast (aha, see what I did there). Now I'm kind of looking forward to following their relationship develop as well. Not only because they are an obvious parallel to Aziraphale and Crowley, but because they are an interesting couple of their own right, with their own insecurities and challenges. The matter of Lindsay left me wondering if there is more to her than we were shown. Maybe we'll learn more about her in season 3? Because there will be a third season. On a sidenote, the whole thing with the shopkeepers association and their meeting was also unexpectedly awesome and hilarious. This show is about angels and demons and yet it manages to portray humans so well. That is some excellent writing right there. Hats off.
Shax
I just loved Shax. What a great demon! A bit simple and bad at sarcasm, yes, but ruthless and able to strike where she sees an open. She has a purpose, and unlike many demons in hell, she wants to get somewhere.
Gabriel and Beelzebub
Okay, that was cute. Gabriel is still a d*ckhead, but so are the other archangels. Seems to be a part of their job description, really. Gabriel and Beelzebub didn't obviously need 6000 years to figure out they wanted to spend the rest of eternity together. I hope they are happy wherever they ended up.
Aziraphale and Crowley
I don't even know where to start. It was so good to see them so soft and comfortable around each other, trusting each other, the silly apology dance, Crowley without his sunglasses, the discussions about their car, their bookshop. And oh, those glimpses back into the beginning of everything, Crowley in his angel form (so they did know each other from before!), Job and his children, the business in the graveyard. Ughh. There is so much to talk about. I loved all of it. I love them both to bits.
And then. Those last minutes of episode six happened. They deserve a post of their own, but let's just say it was painful to watch. Great writing, amazing acting. So much emotions everywhere. And a terrible place to leave us hanging!
Some people have pointed out the similarities to the finale of Our Flag Means Death, and they are hard to miss. Misunderstandings, heartbreak, you name it. But what is really good about this is that the story is still unfinished! There is still more to come! It's hard to see the characters you love go through a heartbreak like that (and I mean them both), but from the point of view of storytelling, it was a necessary step that was executed extremely well. There will be no "us" until Aziraphale has finally sorted out his priorities, and I hope season three will show us that particular journey. It will certainly be an interesting one.

Sherlock Season 4 - this is how it goes
I had the strangest dream last night. Basically, it featured the fourth season of Sherlock. Might be a spoiler, so proceed at your own risk. There was a villain. He had a taste for taxidermy and puppies. Lots of drama. In the end, John shot his head off while Sherlock found a baby Basset Hound. “John, can we adopt this?” Sherlock asked. “Oh, Sherlock. I wouldn’t mind a dozen of them if it were with you!” John said. The end.

Gold Fireflies Dance Through Japanese Enchanted Forest in the Summer of 2016
An array of photographers captured these stunning images of gold fireflies during Japan’s rainy season in June and July. A dazzling long-exposure effort, the fireflies resemble a chimerical glittery effect only seen by fairies in enchanted forests.

Have a dog? Go give them a good hug right now. This is our puppy Madonna. She got run over by a truck today. It was an accident, and luckily, she didn’t have to suffer. It was over in an instant. She was the cutest little sweetheart you can imagine, and even though we had her for only two moths, we loved her so, so much. There were so many adventures ahead waiting for us, and now there is nothing. So IF you have a dog, or a cat, or any pet whatsoever, just do it. Go hug them. Because you never know.
