Info: Okay, I want a fic that has Sam Kirk in it that doesn't make him out to be some douchebag older brother who ignored Kirk when his stepfather was abusing him. I want one where Sam protects Kirk from the abuse by going through it himself. Kirk never find out until years later when Sam is on the Enterprise for some reason.

This doesn't need to have romance or couples (though for some reason I really want to see some McCoy/Sam with some Spock/Kirk).

Info: How about one where Jim's mother blames him for 'stealing' her various husband/boyfriend's attention over the years. Of course he was a kid and didn't want them to touch him, but he takes it to heart. He compartmentalizes as best he can.

Cue present day, where, as part of a diplomatic mission they witness someone being publicly punished and humiliated, essentially for being raped. Suddenly he can't compartmentalize anymore and he does something that makes it really obvious how personal it all as to him.

Bonus points if he's still himself: No crying and if he's an internal wreck he doesn't let it show. Not very accepting of comforting.

Super bonus points if someone gets him drunk so he'll allow them to comfort him. Especially if it's Uhura (though Spock or McCoy would be cool too)
