Less awkward

Well... I usually don't really write fanfiction, but instead prefer to stick more directly to the text and focusing on my own visual interpretation for that (unless it is jokey jokes, then all bets are off). But I also am a sucker for casual romance side plots that while being not the main focus of the story still are there and important to the characters and their progression. Hence these kind of scenes don't need much prompting to form in my brain... It was important to me that their dialogue, as I imagined it in their voices, still sounded true to their characters and I tried out several things for the coloration of this to make it als light and fluffy as possible without becoming too kitschy? It is more or less the antithesis to the Lonely scene... also since weird kissing sounds are not a problem in this medium... yeah. Yeah.

THE OUTLAST TRIALS — REAGENT/EMPLOYEE FILE PSD

So, um. Outlast Trials, amiright?

I'm a big big fan of faux files and ID cards and the like for OCs, and given how many exist within the world of the Outlast Trials (and how detailed, too!), I thought I'd try my hand at my own!

These are some fairly simple PSD templates for you to put your OC into, whether they're a reagent or a Murkoff employee. There's also a 'backside' with more room for additional information, so you can make it as long as you like.

I used photoshop to make these but they seem to work fine in Photopea (a free in-browser alternative).

TIP! To make your text a little wiggly/worn in like the prompts: select your desired text and hit 'select pixels.' With the selection, add a color fill (black), then select the layer mask. Go to filers > pixelate > crystalize (3) and apply. You can go bigger than three but it tends to get muddied after that! Adds a nice lived in effect.

"Item" Flash for the Original Outlast ~

[The original three games have far less items you can pick up, so the range of objects I could choose from was remarkably more limited]

[Personally, I always wanted to get Rick’s shears tattooed myself soooo if I was allowed to get any of my own flashes…so far it would be the shears, Miles’ fingers and/or the heart key from my Trials flash ~]

[EDIT] To clarify for people that have not seen my Trials Flash: If you want to get any of my flash motives for real, you have my blessing ✨ I’d only kindly ask to get credit for being the illustrator behind them, and would also humbly ask to see the finished piece because as a person disallowed from getting tattooed, I live vicariously through people getting things I’ve illustrated tattooed ^^

[It just makes me happy that these seem to appeal to so many people, an IRL friend is getting the camcorder soon and I’m so happy about that <3]
