Since newspapers are one of the best platforms for conveying information due to cheap and easy accessibility, it also helps the readers or audience to become aware of health related messages. Broadcast media, this media has also been used to spread public information and raise awareness through on air either it can be public service announcements, daily news, interviews or a weather forecast. While new media is a form of communication where social media may be the most visible form of this type of new media. It is a huge influence to use and share information throughout social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and more. Having access to current events and up-to-date information is very valuable in today’s modern world because of the constantly changing nature of the world.

To sum it all up, These three media forms namely Print, Broadcast and New media would have be a great advantage and is essential to all of us; individuals. We can use it in our daily lives. These things play a big part to us, just by communication, gaining information, in socializing, in updating the happenings in the world, and etc. These media also have a broad effect to us. We are influenced in what we see, what we have encountered or what knowledge we gain from it. Media assume a huge function in keeping everybody refreshed about the different occasions in the world. Today, we can look at the most recent news and current undertakings with only couple of snaps of mouse or by just turning on the radio or TV, aside from looking at the paper each day. It’s likewise the best vehicle of correspondence for mass crowd. With the assistance of different media like electronic media, print media and web media, the mass specialized strategy is refined in a reasonable manner. "Understanding the relevance of information literacy in the midst of social era"

Information literacy is a set of integrated abilities encompassing the reflective discovery of information, the understanding of how information is produced and valued and the use of information in creating new knowledge, and participating ethnically in communities of learning. Information literacy is a life long learning process, it has five components such as to identify, find, evaluate , apply, and acknowledge. It is important for today’s learners, because it promotes problem solving approaches and thinking skills – asking questions and seeking answers, finding information, forming opinions, evaluating sources and making decisions fostering successful learners, effective contributors, confident individuals and responsible citizen. Information literacy allows us to cope with the data smog, by equipping us with the necessary skills to recognize when we need information, where to locate it, and how to use it effectively and efficiently. Consequently it will help decision making and productivity which is beneficial to the society. And also information literacy help us to recognize misleading, out of date or false information. It also help us to sort through the data and interpret it intelligently.

One has to understand the significance of being an information literate in the current digital world. There has to be an evolutionary adaptation anchored with a critical thinking mind as well, that may combat the underlying shortcomings in handling media and its information. Knowledge is power: We can put down bad propagandas around the internet if we know how to judge them and by judging them, we should be able to manifest a rightful judgement and let ourselves learn and teach other people too. By that, we can enact our information literate selves and keep ourselves on the drive of this fast-pacing world. Information is all around and we are supposed to be not suffocated, but rather manage them all according to their functions while eliminating those that are not needed, and spread what is accurate, reliable, and timely information for other people to raise awareness and knowledge, and to propagate an educated society where people cannot be blinded by lies anymore. Needless to say, the society will be peaceful if people are open to be information literate in the midst of social era.
