Truly crazy to watch people pop off on Silver and Sworn for having Suvi’s back and letting Ame know that despite her intentions, her actions were out of place and unhelpful.
Silver and Sworn, the ones that were *actually* by her side when she was on her way to the horses to make sure no one starved, because Eursulon outright refused to help (and spoke of not wanting to be there at all) and Ame was bopping from fraught conversation to fraught conversation.
Silver, the one who understood that what Suvi actually needed when they were finally alone was to put down the devastating burden of trying to keep three dozen people alive behind enemy lines for a night and rest.
Sworn, the one that volunteered to handle the horse problem since he saw how much it gutted her to resort to it.
Feel however you want to feel about their phrasing or tone, but neither was wrong for taking Ame to the side and speaking with her on points Suvi’s also made to her in the past. It is neither empathetic nor community-serving to repeatedly refuse to adapt to a different culture’s way of doing things.
Truth is, Sworn and Silver are the ones being a good friend to Suvi right now, and if you can’t see that it’s because your Citadel-blinders make you instantly dismissive of anything Suvi wants or needs that diverges from Ame and Eursulon’s preferences. And that sucks to see. Again.

mismag hits so hard to me bc more than any other d20 season it is a show built on the love its protagonists have for each other. like flavor it any way you want, these guys would and do go to the ends of the earth for each other, they see each other for who they are and who they want to be, they compliment each other’s strengths and make each other feel secure in the face of their weaknesses, & they’re going to live in a treehouse together for the rest of time

Having this little exchange of Jammer and the Qohlye in this episode means so much to me! I remember watching tv shows and movies as a kid and feeling left out. Seeing SO much more representation now than 20 years ago is incredible. This season of D20 has so many moments that feel likes a celebration of Black culture and it really moved me. Thank you Aabria and the whole team cause I really appreciate it!

All K ever wanted was to be something bigger. Someone that mattered, a presence that grows. Amplification.
All Evan ever wanted was to please be small. Not to be so noticed, to fit in. Curtailment.
All Jammer ever wanted was to make good things to put out into the world. Bonds, nicknames, safe spaces, resources, connections. Creation.
And all Sam ever wanted was to know more. About herself, about others. Communicate clearly and not be mistaken. To not be hidden behind the persona she'd been trapped in. Truth.

Cast member Danielle Radford (who plays teenage Twitch streamer Sam Black) called her experience filming Misfits and Magic the “best two days of [her] tabletop career,” directly crediting Iyengar and Orion for cultivating a beautiful space where she was able to be fully creatively present—and offer humanity in the face of fantasy’s dehumanizing tropes.
“Being at a table where, you know, it’s me and Erika and Lou and Aabria, the majority of us are people of color—and that for me is so important,” Radford said in an interview with the Daily Dot. “And for me specifically, when I go into playing games and I go into playing tabletop, my characters will always be Black—they will ALWAYS be Black—and they will always be fat, fucking period, because there isn’t enough of that representation. Like if you see fat, it’s like a goblin or it’s like a dwarf or it’s like, you know, not human … I want other dark skinned fat girls to feel like they are not just allowed at the table, but to feel like they can contribute something, to feel like their contribution is welcome and needed because it is.”

idk man. something about sam being the only one who was able to look directly at evan’s shadow. who smiled and laughed in pure relief when his soul entered his shadow and tried to hug him even though he’s incorporeal. sam who has always accepted evan for exactly who he is, stood up to his demons without a second thought or fear for herself, sam who was just happy to have Some part of evan back. sam who loves and values her connection to evan so much that it overwhelms evan’s every attempt to deflect and shrink away from that unconditional love. i’m going to be sick
