FRANTIC FANFIC SENTENCE STARTERS ... 8!
quotes that me and my friends have written , taken from various fanfictions. feel free to edit as you see fit. trigger warning for swearing.
Had a feeling I'd find you here.
Sovereign for your thoughts, love?
It's a mess- I'm a mess.
My thoughts are absolutely not worth a Sovereign at the moment, honestly.
And you know you're priceless to me regardless, so go on.
Smart to hide in here, honestly.
Things back there are getting… tense.
Sounds familiar.
It was all her, mostly!
She started all of it.
There's a human saying. What was it? Takes two to tango?
I assure you, dear lady, there was no tangoing involved.
Don't feel the need to stretch yourself too thin on my behalf.
Everyone else clear out already?
They're around, somewhere.
Do you mind if I take a look?
I'll keep my hands to myself, of course.
I admit I find myself missing my own ship.
Ah, that's a long story really.
I suppose we've got the time.
Holy shit, dude.
You got anyone we can call, son?
I'm fine.
Really, we don't need to call anyone.
You sure about that?
Just seconds ago you were almost in tears.
Yeah, that happens sometimes.
No, no no, it's fine.
Is it the boat?
I'm good.
Boats and me, we're good.
That's where I was going.
I really don't want to be a bother.
That sounds like a good idea.

PROMPTS FROM LARA CROFT: TOMB RAIDER * assorted dialogue from the 2001 film, adjust as necessary
i woke up this morning and i just hated everything.
oh... very funny.
to see your world in a grain of sand, and a heaven in a wild flower. hold infinity in the palm of your hand, an eternity in an hour.
i'm only trying to turn you into a lady.
a lady should be modest.
what's that smell?
you might try to kill me.
i'm not going to kill you.
so... time to save the universe again, then, is it?
it's a clock. it's ticking.
tell me, is there a good reason why i just kept you alive?
i think you're trying to cheat me out of my little ray of sunshine.
why would i try to cheat you out of anything?
i need you to get the piece so i can steal it from you later.
you're bluffing.
was it programmed to stop before it took my head off?
ah, well... that would be a no.
we have 83 rooms.
why can't you just live in the house?
i'm a free spirit.
i don't believe it.
i think it's really cool that you can still keep a day job.
it's obviously just for show.
still pretending to be an archaeologist?
it's not like you ever really owned them or anything.
i think your clients need you.
it's all just a business.
so... go do business.
i suppose you think i'm a greedy, unscrupulous sell-out who'll do just about anything for money?
if you cross me, we may not be able to remain friends.
always a pleasure.
now... for a cold shower.
pretty much touch anything, and you get your head chopped off.
it's my system! so i know where they all came from!
this is where i start to have fun.
into the belly of the beast.
it's wrong.
time was stolen from us, and it's not fair.
really? that's fascinating.
i don't know about you, but i'm not planning to give that much time to this enterprise.
my ignorance amuses me.
i've always found your ignorance quite amusing.
i'll be calling in a favor.
that's a secret.
if i told you, i'd have to kill you.
ah, [name]. how predictable.
what are you doing here?
she taught my men a thing or two about home invasion.
we may even need to hire her.
hello. if you don't mind, i'd like to have a word alone. please.
so, what are you? good guy or bad guy?
your problem is that you can't be trusted.
i'm just trying to get by. have a little fun.
i know what you are.
you should wear this. allow me.
[name] must mean a lot to you.
i had hoped it wasn't necessary. a betrayal...
you know, you worry me.
i can feel your conflict over this.
do you mind if i smoke?
i'm not gonna kill you.
who sits here?

"Uh huh. Sure you didn't, and I'm sure Aunt Bekah would say the same if I asked her about it," Hope giggled. His comment about banjos made her reach out and tap him gently in the side. "He doesn't play the banjo, he's more of a guitar guy. So that shouldn't be a problem."
Hope nodded, yawning reflexively. "That sounds like a good idea. Tomorrow I'll put her in the statue garden and seal the entrance again, and no one will think about her ever again."
The hybrid's body shook with his soft laughter. "What? I didn't mean anything offensive in the slightest with my statement. It was merely fact back then." He shrugged and slowly rose into a sitting position with a soft groaning. "Of course, your mother and Jackson will be allowed to do what they will with their quarters. So long as Jackson keeps the banjos to a minimum." He cracked a teasing smirk and laughed once more.
"Likewise." He mused about Aurora and shook his head some. "No, tonight she shall remain where she is. You, my love, need to rest." Klaus smiled. "Renovations and redecoration can wait."

"If Kai Parker would like to believe that Kai Parker isn't overly dramatic, then I suppose that's Kai Parker's right," Hope shrugged. "And I don't know anything about that period, but I'm willing to bet a thousand dollars that you were overly dramatic then. And the time you killed your sister in her wedding dress, at her wedding. Just throwing out some examples."
Hope laughed and gave her head a shake. "Nah, you've missed the golden age of the reboot, where they resurrect every dead franchise and beat it into the ground. That's just the latest one, so you've got something to look forward to."
"She's an Alpha, yes - her and my stepfather run the Crescent pack. And my father does do a pretty decent job of intimidating people. But no; I don't want that. I've spent my entire life being the object of someone's fear, someone's loathing. I'd just like to live. To get married, to just...find my own path without constantly being on the defensive."
"Wha--excuse you, but Kai Parker is not overly dramatic. I do everything with just the right amount of dramatic.... drama. " He corrected himself. "Ah, no, wait," He made a small hissing sound as his thoughts collected and drifted to the front of his mind. "No, I was possibly overly dramatic during the weeks I spent trapped with Bonnie after she freed Damon..." He reminisced. Shrugging his shoulders and moving on from that topic just as easily as it had began, he contemplated her words.
If Hope Mikaelson was concerned about the power that had to have been used to merge the two cities together, then Kai had to assume there was a credible concern. From what he had heard around town, she was the apex being - and the apex usually doesn't have anything to be concerned about. "Ooh, Karate Kid? Now I think you're just sweet-talking me."
"Really?" Kai gave her a confused look. "I would love to have people as terrified of me as some of them seem to be of you. Huh... what's that saying, different strokes or something like that?" He remarked. "Though, I guess you don't really need it. From what I hear around town, your daddy keeps enough people afraid for the both of you. That mother of yours too - she's one of those alpha-things right?" He questioned, waving a hand. The heretic's knowledge of werewolves had extended from a bite from Tyler Lockwood to years spent playing cat-and-mouse with Diego

"Parents aren't so good with other people touching their children, in my experience. My dad almost..." killed my adopted brother for that, was the sentence in her head, but Hope decided that was just going to open an entire can of worms that she really didn't want to get into. "Anyway. But good job saving the kid, if that makes you feel better."
* . ⊹ morgan barlowe — open starter — @darkskiesrpgstarters ⊹ . *

The vampire had just caught a child from falling off the post they were climbing on and set them right up on their feet before she looked up to see their parent coming to snatch them away, giving her a sneer before rushing away. "Sorry, I'll let them fall on their face next time." she called out after them with a roll of her eyes. "Gotta protect the children from the scary lady who just saved you from a meltdown."

"I know that was a tough thing to go through; it might have been the only way, but it impacted everyone. I'm just sorry you were one of them." She smiled, nodding. "Pretty sure we're safe on that front, Malivore's as dead as dead can get now." With a heavy price, but dead all the same. Gods, was it hard to focus when he was doing that. "And I love you for it. But I'll want to know what you're thinking, too. If I pick a color that makes you gag, I want to know. If you don't like the dress, you can take it off me and pick a new one," Hope giggled, kissing his temple.
"I always felt like something was missing during that time," Xavier muses. "Let's both agree to never allow that to happen again, yeah?" The corners of his lips twitched upwards at the shudder of her frame, always finding pride in his ability to resort her into a pile of mush with just a touch. His lips grazed her skin again, feather soft as he nuzzled into the skin of her neck. "No need to apologize," he murmurs against her skin. "Honestly, I expected worse so I'll take only having to repair the bar top. You've had most normality's of life taken away from you in life, the least I can do is give you the ability to tell your family yourself about the engagement and to plan the wedding of your dreams. Whatever your heart desires I will give you, that's a promise."

"Well then, I'm happy to provide." Hope reached out again and gently scratched at the horse's mane. "Aren't you a gorgeous boy, hmm? Absolutely gorgeous." She smiled and returned her attention to the woman who'd come to join her. "How are you? It's a beautiful day."
"He loves scratches," Darcy muses as she slowly approaches down the gravel drive with a mug of coffee in hand, a smile tugging at her lips. She always loved when people stopped by at the sight of the horses in the pasture. It wasn't very often but when it did happen, she always made a point to greet them. "Good morning."

"I'm sorry," Hope chuckled, "did Kai Parker accuse something of being overdramatic? That's a little like the pot calling a kettle a kettle, don't you think?" But she easily conceded his point with a nod. "Same - I don't believe anyone's that lucky, which makes them someone I wouldn't cross. That level of power is more than anything I've ever come across, and coming up against it seems like a good way to die quickly."
She nodded. "That's fair. Honestly, the experience hasn't changed much; there's better sound and bigger screens, comfortable seats...and assholes on their phones the entire time. Pretty sure there's a new Karate Kid coming out this summer, so maybe that'd keep you busy."
"I'm sure. I don't enjoy people being afraid of me - it's something I've dealt with all my life, and I'm very tired of it. I'd just like to live my life and enjoy being with my family again, that's all." Despite herself, she laughed. "More saving the world, less playing superhero. Beating Malivore twice, that kinda thing."
"A touch overly dramatic, honestly. Like, seriously, did we really need converging timelines and a mashup of two cities like some garage band cover album?" The heretic remarked. He listened, however, as she expressed what sounded like admiration for the complexity and yet, simplicity of the magic. "Whatever created a spell like this either got lucky with all the pieces falling into place as they have, or they're someone that I do not want to ever go toe to toe with." He shook his head once.
"I don't know." He shrugged simply as she questioned if a movie would really be that bad. "The last time I really spent watching movies was growing up in the 80's. Since then I've been... preoccupied." He smiled.
"You sure? Having the power of fear over people can be incredibly powerful. Intoxicating too, if I'm being honest." He mused and nodded as she remarked about her little friends. "Probably better that way. Less kiddies out playing superhero or whatever it was that you all got up to." He shrugged simply.

Hope didn't want to laugh at that, but she giggled and clapped a hand to her mouth. "That's a terrible thing to say, but it was funny enough that I won't tell Aunt Rebekah you said it. And you're definitely going to have to share the reins with her. Also possibly Mom, at least for her and Jackson's room."
His reaction to being reminded of Aurora was much like her own had been the time she'd stumbled across the rug where it was in storage. "I think almost everyone has, and I'd prefer she stay forgotten as long as possible." Hope nodded. "Statue garden it is - I'll take her down there later so she'll be out of the way before we start doing any work on the place. Well, tomorrow. I don't think I'm sober enough for that right now."
Klaus laughed gently. "Indeed, she would be. It was always best to design our manors whenever she was preoccupied chasing potential love. Now that she is decidedly less preoccupied, I fear I may have to share the interior decorating reins." He mused.
The mention of his psychotic, deranged ex had him let out a groan of disgust. "I had almost forgotten about that little piece of history tucked away here." He spoke honestly. "As tempting as it would be to see Jackson haul her away, perhaps the statue garden would be a better place to store her. After all, we wouldn't want anyone to stumble upon her." He smirked.

Hope gave an exaggerated peek into the basket as she pretended to consider the question. "In that case, I would say anyone who brings fresh beignets is always welcome to hang around for a while. You know I ate my first one right over there?" she pointed to a table once filled with every manner of treat in New Orleans. "Even came with a history lesson."
There was something coming from Alexandrea in soft waves, but Hope couldn't quite put her finger on it and decided it might be better left alone. "I'm restless, mainly. It's hard not feel like I'm twiddling my thumbs waiting for Triad to do whatever dumbass thing they've got up their sleeve. Although I might have a little bit of news..."
❝ What if I said neither? I was just coming by to drop these off for the family. ❞ Alexandrea quipped with an amused eye roll upon entering the kitchen with a basket of freshly baked beignets carried in her arms. Would it scare her away if I admitted that I was actually here to check in on how she's doing?
The younger Crescent werewolf still chose to skillfully lie while the product of her midnight stress baking endeavours was settled onto the nearby kitchen countertop once she joined the tribrid to stand in front of the fridge since she still thought of Hope as some skittish horse. Truth is that ever since Evelynn had been kidnapped by the Triad, Andrea has been coming up with excuses just to pay them a brief visit every day off she had just out of concern for their safety and well-being. ❝ How are you, Hope? What's been up with you? ❞

"That's a good word. An apt word. That's art, to me - it makes you feel something. An emotion, a memory, a physical sensation. The first time my father ever showed me a Van Gogh I cried, and I couldn't explain why. He sat me on his knee and he rubbed my back, and he told me that Van Gogh was a man who'd struggled mightily in his day. That if he were alive today, he would probably have been diagnosed with depression at the very least. "And that's what you feel, hundreds of years later, looking into his brushstrokes. Isn't that amazing?" she quoted from memory.
"If you'd ever like to see the Bayou, I can point you to some safer places. The Crescents don't hold all of it, and if I let them know you'll be there no one should have an issue."
The shift in conversational topics to the art pieces on the walls was a welcome reprieve. Dagger lacked any form of argument that a full-scale escalation between supernaturals was the least desirable outcome for any faction. He followed along until she pointed to one of the pieces. "Hmm..." A soft hum escaped him as he surveyed the piece.
"Hot." Was the first word Dagger thought of, but he shook his head some and elaborated. "It reminds me of a sticky summer day with annoying insects, but a cool splash only a few feet away at all times." He paused some. "Kind of like what I've dared look at of the bayous around here. I don't dare venture too deep - I know your family's pack holds claim there."

@traegics (darcy)
For all the time that she'd spent exploring since the cities had come together, Hope knew she hadn't seen everything by any means. And one of the things on that list was the Willow Creek Ranch. She didn't intend just to walk onto it without permission, but it was easy enough to lean on the fence surrounding the property and watch the animals with a smile on her face. One of the horses, a beautiful chestnut, carefully approached her and Hope stayed cautiously still. "Hello, gorgeous. I'd give you scritches but I don't know how you feel about that, so we'll just talk instead." Catching sight of a figure not far away, she raised a hand. "Morning."
