He's gone, but his memory remains

With deep sorrow, we say goodbye to little Abdullah Abu Zorqa (5 years old), the child whose heartbreaking cry “I’m hungry” shook the world. He passed away today in a hospital in Adana – Turkey, after his fragile body gave in to illness and hunger, deprived of medicine and proper treatment in Gaza.

Abdullah is gone, but hundreds of children in Gaza are still facing the same fate — slowly fading away without food, without medicine, without hope. Just imagine watching your own children die of hunger before your eyes… how would you feel?

Have you seen one of these dipshits? If you post regularly on ao3, chances are YES, but more likely you didn't notice nor suspect it was a bot. Sometimes they start off nice, or even praise you before getting nasty out of nowhere, like so:

I don't know where they come from, or what purpose this could possibly serve other than suicidebaiting random people in the internet, I guess; but apparently they've started parroting names from real users to send these comments and shifting their general length to go by undetected. Maybe those are scrappers trying to train 'reviewbots' to be sold as part of some scam service promising to give feedback for newbie writers, who the fuck knows.

I am writing this post on behalf of Mahommad Taysir Al-Anqar and his family who are struggling to survive genocide in Gaza.

Mohammad is a father of three small children: Joud (5 years), Yazan (4 years), and the littlest, Taysir (6 months). Taysir was named after his grandfather, who was murdered by the Israeli occupation, and the baby has known nothing but the horrors of war since his birth less than a year ago.

Two years ago, Mohammad worked as a mobile app developer and lived a normal life with his loving family. When the war came, they were forced to flee with nothing. Their beautiful home was reduced to rubble, and all their belongings with it.

The relentless bombing of the occupation has forced Mohammad, his wife, and his three small children to flee seven times. Every time they searched desperately for safety, but there is no safety in Gaza - everywhere is a war zone full of destruction and death. They are forced to live out their days in a fragile tent that does not protect from the scorching heat of summer, nor the bitter cold of winter.

Despite these young children's lives being filled with nothing but suffering, they still cling on desperately to hope. They ask their father when the war will end, but he has no answers for them.

Mohammad's baby cries out constantly for milk, but it is nearly impossible to find due to the Israeli blockade. When food is found, the prices are astronomical, exceeding far beyond what they can pay for. Imagine what it's like to watch your children starving, crying out from hunger, and having nothing to give them. This is something Mohammad and his wife go through every day.

Their only hope of refuge lies in the kindness of strangers - in our donations. Please consider donating, no matter how small the amount. Small donations add up quickly and the money can be used to pay for food and other necessities these children's lives depend on.
