So I’ve decided that instead of going somewhere else for a physics PhD with my math art shit as my dissertation, I’m just gonna stick around UTK and go for a double masters in applied math and physics and I’m super stoked about this decision. (Well, this is assuming I’d get in, which I’d like to think I would.) I gotta get Matrix II for credit and Advanced Calc I and II out of the way for the applied math masters since they’re prereqs but nbd. Well, they can actually count towards the degree (I think up to 9 hours of the prereqs can count?) but I gotta lotta other shit I want to take as well that more than fills up the allotted electives. Same for physics, there’s more classes I want to take than are required of me, but I guess that’s no different than how I’ve felt in undergrad. I absolutely 100% have to take topology and I know that it’s probably going to be one of those classes that is painful to be in but I’ll love it the second it’s over. But I gotta do it. I need it for my work whether I like it or not. I’m definitely going to do the project route for the physics masters. I’m hoping I can maybe weasel my way out of experimental methods or w/e, though, since I have literally zero need for that since I don’t intend to do research and I’d so much rather substitute in something that’s useful to me. If I can’t, I will have a terrible attitude through that whole class and will be miserable. Ok I got distracted so I guess I’m done here.
