How we like to end the day. A mostly empty truck. A long day but some good time spent with my wife and daughter. I was able to meet up with 2 out of 3 customers, which is about par for the course on these deals. I picked up a few black oak slabs from the fella I am helping sell slabs. I am reflecting on a couple good weeks sales.wise this morning at @mycoffeeroseburg, and some good potential for the next couple. In order for everything to work though is going to require some good logistical planning. I try also not to get excited about the big sales. I have found that they are the hardest to reel in and finalize. Someone gets sick, someone backs out, or folks just drop off the map. Probably of all the contacts I get, probably only about a third end up in a sale. Of anything over a few hundred bucks, even less. I need to get better pictures, but I couldn't wait to get this awesome collaboration with @josh_voynick out. Josh took a couple of my white oak slabs and made a couple small tables with hand forged legs. My favorite part is actually how instead of just leaving the ends square, he added some smooth curvea. They are awsome!! I am so pleased! I am going to start them at $600 a piece. Its alot, but these are so awesome! Feeding cows early before delivering wood. Thursday and Friday are my days to feed, and when something else comes up, the cows still need fed. Dad still mostly does the cow part of the ranch, although Sarah and I have stepped up with some updates, and I have taken on these days to feed. Meanwhile while the wood salvage part is mine. Ranching and stewardship of the land and animals is not one dimension. I will market locally for garden/barn repair boards and try to make a cheap package deal of $150 for all of them.
