Salamat Humss

Marami rami na kong napagaralan sa strand ko Humanities and Social Science. Maaring ang iba ay hindi ko na naalala. Pero lubos akong nagpapasalamat sa strand na ito dahil hinubog nito ang pagkatao ko. Ginawa akong tao ng strand na ito. Oo tao. Sapagkat namulat ang kaisipan ko sa maraming bagay sa mundo na minsan pa hindi natin malalaman at maiintindihan ng basta basta. Maraming bagay ang naitulong ng strand na ito hindi lamang sa lessons at knowledge na nakuha ko kundi maging makatao sa kapwa at marami pang iba. Kaya naman para sa lahat ng Humss students: be thankful instead of being mareklamo HAHAHAHAHAH

So why HUMSS?

The courses, humanities and social science collaborated or combined basically focuses on the in depth study of human beings. To elaborate the statement, both of the courses study the rationality, naturalness, sociality, morality, spirituality and the cultural ways of different human beings. From the cultures that comprised the world today, we can’t seem to learn enough about them as they dynamically evolve and change. The humanities and social sciences track/course then, allow you to explore all that causes diversity within one planet. To do so, taking the paths set by the concepts of humanities and social science will provide you the development of your analytical thinking skills in order to have a wider set of concepts and understanding. In tackling various races and ethnicities, one will need his/her global perspective as he/she deals with different knowledge, cultures, beliefs and virtues. In order to attain a global perspective, exposure to the differences in our world is the main factor to this goal. Through the shared knowledge and concepts of humanities and social science, one will be able to have enlightenment on the what’s and how’s needed for different who’s and why’s in this world.

The courses also improve your abilities in oral and written communication as it is your medium in reaching out to those of who is need of your deepened wisdom. Even students at the top colleges in the country can be surprisingly deficient when it comes to writing. That’s because teaching writing isn’t as mechanical as computer science. It comes with time when it comes to studying the way other people think and process. You don’t get that from one class nor in a pure scientifically and mathematically explained degree In the courses of humanities and social sciences, you will gain interconnected areas of knowledge. You will witness the adversity and diversity of all your fellow people all over the world and as you do, your views shall deepen to the point where there may be no more judgement in you as you have great belief that all men regardless of gender, age, culture, race, ethnicity belong into one zone—and that is humanity. We are all human.

What makes HUMSS unique?

What makes HUMSS different is that it gives you a wide set of different things than what it is usual and is open to almost everything that it opens you as well. It gives you a number of choices of what courses and professions you are interested and suitable in. It is not only enclosed to one job opportunity. This track teaches us empathy, how to deal critically and reasonably with subjective, complex and formidable knowledge and they teach us to weigh evidence and consider more than one side of every question. It builds various skills that puts our intelligence to a much extended field. It makes us understand how things work and why people act the way they act. It teaches you to be open minded and understanding. It gives us an advantage to have good conversational skills and know the right things to say. It actually makes you find appreciation and love towards life more. Some say that HUMSS is uninteresting because all that are being done are reading, writing and analyzing. What they do not understand is that by reading and writing that is how we learn and through this we attain further understanding about life.

What is HUMSS?

Humanities and Social Science are the study of human behavior based on different aspects like how one acts socially, culturally, environmentally, economically and politically. Through studying humanities and social sciences, students will develop the ability to question, think critically, solve problems, communicate effectively, make decisions and adapt to change. Thinking about and responding to issues requires efficient and great understanding of the key historical, geographical, political, and economic and societal factors involved.

Studying humanities and social sciences comes with a set of key ideas and skills. These are some examples of the key ideas: tradition; students should know their identity, society; know the constant changes of different cultures and societies, connection; view all men as one regardless of their trait. Lastly, there is the responsibility of knowing histories of societies and connection to the modern world.

The 5 key skills HUMSS students should possess are questioning, researching, analyzing, evaluating and communicating. Of course, students should also maintain their open minds since humanities and social sciences deal with different cultures, traditions and various ways of life.

Hanggang dito nalang ba?

Hanggang dito nalang ba lahat?

Porket ba ito lang ang kaya ko ito nalang ang tingin sa akin? Sa aming humss students? Hindi ko alam pero ang pakiramdam ko parang ambaba ng tingin ng ibang studyante sa aming humss students. Hanggang diyan nalang ba talaga ang tingin ng iba? Hanggang saan ba kasi ang kailangan namin abutin para hindi kami maliitin ng ibang tao. Hanggang kailan ba magkakaroon ng hangganan? May hangganan ba talaga? Hindi ko alam pero gulong gulo ang utak ko sa lahat ng bagay na para bang andito palang ako nahihirapan na ako. Sadya bang mahirap ang gawain? O dahil nasanay ako sa madaling pamamaraan.

Hanggang dito nalang ba tayo? Bat di kaya tayo kumilos nalang kesa magreklamo at umangal sa mga gawain. Baka mas makatulong pa sa bansa at lipunan Maging sa sarili mo.

Mahaba habang proseso to ah hahahahhaha sinabayan pa ng 3 research paper sa iba't ibang subj. Pero naniniwala akong kaya namin to! Aja!

Humss

Hindi ko alam kung gusto ko pa ba yung strand na kinuha ko.

Actually sobrang gustong gusto ko. I love HumSS lalo na ang galing ng nagtuturo samin. Pero bakit kapag nakikita ko yung ibang classmates ko sa Fbs na mas lesser yung ginagawa samin, yung iba naggagago pa nakakapasa tas kami super hirap na hirap na at halos ialaan na lahat ng oras sa mga activities still ambaba pa din ng nakukuha naming grades. Hindi ko alam pero parang dumadating ako sa point ng pagkukumpara na para bang iniisip ko na lang na sana ayun nalang kinuha ko, sana ganun nalang kadali and all. Pero naiisip ko na wala naman talagang madali sa mundo sadyang may mga tao lang talaga na walang pake sa ginagawa nila kaya madali para sa kanila. Pero hanggang kelan nga ba sila madadalian sa buhay?

Hindi naman sa nagrereklamo at ngdodown ako ng tao at strand sadyang napapatanong nalang ako na bat ganun? Akala ko ba lahat pantay pantay? Pero siguro nga lahat naman may purpose.
