Skyro 3.0
Skyro was created with the goal of helping you capture the important moments in your life, be it meetings, lectures, music, events and more.
Today we’re happy to announce that we’re taking a big step forward in helping you capture those moments better. Say hello to Skyro 3.0.
youtube
So here are the highlights of Skyro 3.0
Design
We’ve designed Skyro 3.0 from the ground up to be a fresh, exciting new experience. Based on material design and powered by the principles of bold, graphic and intentional imagery, we’ve tried to move skyro in a bold new direction. All new themes, android Lollipop animations, new cards and icons are just some of the design highlights of Skyro 3.0.
Images
At the same time, we wanted to make recordings richer at a more fundamental level. We’ve noticed that at many points during the course of a recording, our users have wanted to take a picture, be it of a slide on a presentation, a note or a correction to that guitar riff. Adding that image gives that recording so much depth and meaning and we just had to add this in.
So in Skyro 3.0 you can
take images right from within the app during recording and we would automatically remember when the image was taken and play the image back at the corresponding same time
you can leave the app to take an image from any other camera app (during a recording) and you will still get the same great experience
add images at a later stage from your gallery, google drive, dropbox and other sources
playback your image-recordings in full screen! (long press on one to get started)
In fact, this feature works great retroactively, in case you've taken pictures during a recording in the past, just click on “add an image” and we’ll try to retrieve the images you might have taken at that time. Prepare to be surprised!
Other features
Experimental support for bluetooth recording (over bluetooth headsets)
Experimental support for recording in m4a
Tons of new themes (we will update them more frequently now)
Support for over 15 languages with the inclusion of Polish
We hope you like this release and do stay tuned for more, we're just getting started here.
Cheers

Default file names
We've always tried to make recording as easy and hassle free as possible. We've always wanted to take care of all the details, the file formats, the recording context and so on, so that you can focus on the content and we're taking a step further in that direction today.
Today, we're happy to announce one of our upcoming features: Default file names. It might seem like an insignificant update at first, but did you know that less than 10% of recordings in Sky Recorder are actually renamed. Yes, less than 10%. With that data in mind, it makes a lot of sense to empower users with the ability to choose their default file names.
With that enabled, each default record name gives users more context into when, how and why a recording happened without going through the somewhat tedious process of renaming recordings.
To choose the default file name, go to Settings and choose the Default File Name option. There you can select one of many available file names for you to choose:
We've included descriptive names like 02-Mar-2014-1851 to ISO8601 compliant names like 2014-04-02-185152. You can even choose to create you own file suffix by choosing the last option.
We hope this update makes the recording process easier for you. As always do write to us with your suggestions and feedback on the same.

The new Sky Recorder
Sky Recorder was started in an attempt to make audio recording, playback and sharing easier and more beautiful than ever before. After the initial launch in June 2012, Sky Recorder has been used in over 1700 cities in over 139 countries across the globe, all during a limited beta and we couldn't be happier with the progress.
In the meanwhile, we've been hard at work to make Sky Recorder the best audio recorder out there. Keeping that in mind, today, we're happy to announce a completely revamped Sky Recorder and the all new Sky Recorder pro.
Let us begin by telling you a bit more about the new features in Sky Recorder
A completely new, redesigned audio recording engine with better, clearer audio recording
Themes (still experimental), you can now completely change the look of Sky Recorder, changing the background will completely change how Sky Recorder looks
An optimized interface for android tablets, a new and fresh look for tablets like the Nexus 7 and the Nexus 10
Search! You can now search your audio recordings!
Support for notifications, even the new expandable notifications supported in android jellybean and above, all with inline controls
Widgets! We've included some basic widgets to record and playback your recordings and yes, they work in the lock-screen too (Android 4.1+).
So you can start and stop recordings, n play back your recording without even unlocking the phone! PS a lot of widgets are being worked on.
Many new UI elements, like the background scrolls with the playlist :)
Overall the app is much faster thanks to tons of changes in the code :)
Thrilled with the global footprint of the application, we've also included support for multiple new languages including Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish with many more languages in the pipeline.
Sky Recorder and Sky Recorder pro
To facilitate future development of the application, Sky Recorder now comes in a choice of ad supported avatars (ads are shown once you have recorded 10 clips) and a pro version with more features and no advertisements.
The pro version is priced at just $2.99 and in addition to the features of the free version, it will have
no advertisements
access to all mp3 bit-rates (as opposed to just 128kbps in the free version)
access to all audio rates (as opposed to just 44100 kHz in the free version)
access to all sync interval, you have option to sync every 10 minutes or even once a day (as opposed to once every hour in the free version)
access to all themes (as opposed to limited themes in the free version)
access to more pro-audio features which are currently under development
If you are an existing Sky Recorder beta user ...
Ater the transition to the newer version of Sky Recorder you might not have access to all the settings in the free version of the app. However, as a way of thanking you for using Sky Recorder early, we want you to keep having access to all your settings.
To do that, if you already have Sky Recorder installed and have your favourite settings selected, all the settings will automatically be moved to the newer version and you will continue to record on the same settings. Therefore, it is important that you select all your favourite settings before you upgrade to the next version.
Furthermore, we will also be running a 5 day sale on the Sky Recorder pro app so that you can get the $2.99 pro version at a one time price of $0.99 which is at a discount of over 66%. We hope that this enables you to get Sky Recorder pro at a great price and unlock all the features of Sky Recorder.
We thank you for using Sky Recorder and we want to tell you that we will continue innovating to make this the best recording application out there.
Happy recording.
