Her heart pounded in her chest as she crept closer to the front door, tightening her grip on the arm she was holding. What did this intruder want? Was it a thief? A Murderer? She was her own worst enemy, her mind swirling with the possibilities. As a voiced vibrated in her ear, and she froze in place.
They were inside. Oh No.
True panic set in, and she found herself wishing Bear was just that; a bear, or anything. Anything that other than a tiny, metal sparrow. Something huge and terrifying; anything to scare this fiend off. But that was not the case, and no amount of wished could change it. It was up to her to protect them.
All 157cm of her.
Sunhee peeked around the corner, laying eyes on the intruder, her mind instantly going blank.  She was half tempted to run to her room and hide under the covers out of fear and possible hope. Maybe they wouldn’t find her there? Maybe, they would only search the front of the house and leave her alone? No, that was ridiculous. She had to be brave; rather needed to be.
With a deep breath, she steeled herself, gripping ever so tightly on the arm. As quietly as she could, Sunny inched closer, raising the metal arm once she was in range.
With a loud scream, she swung her weapon with all her might.
Finally being able to step inside the apartment was the most refreshing feeling Jitae had experienced all day. Regardless of having fought with the lock just moments ago, he let out a deep sigh and let his posture relax, shoulders slumping as the weight of the day finally lifted. He gave a gentle and tired smile as his eyes recognized the familiar wall color and flooring. Home.
The man was eager to slip his shoes off and remove his uniform, giddy at the idea of finally being able to wear his hoodie and sweat pants. Feeling even happier about the fact that he would finally be making something to eat and getting to watch something on the television before he readied himself for studying.
Things felt wonderful the moment he heard that click of the lock. He was home. Finally. Inside the four walls he felt safe in. Where it was far from the noise of the city. These comforting thoughts put Jitae at ease.
Gently rolling his shoulders back, he removed his backpack and placed it on the floor. He turned to face the door once more and toed his sneakers off, perplexed when he noticed that his slippers were not where he had left them this morning. Tilting his head and frowning in confusion, he failed to notice the presence of another in this apartment.
Only when the scream left their mouth did Jitae notice he was not alone, eyes going wide and panic setting in. Jitae turned his body to face the source of the sound but he did not have time to react. As soon as the scream resounded and he saw the girl that stood before him, arms raised high with weapon in hand, he tried to raise his voice to call out to her, “Hey, hey, he-” suddenly he felt an immense force come down on his forehead.

Things went black instantly.

Lucky couldn’t help it - the second the other jumped, he burst out laughing - full on cackling, really - at the top of his lungs.  It was almost cartoon-like, the way the guy startled.  Cookies flying, chair clattering… he was almost surprised their wasn’t a boing! sound effect that went with the jump.
Tumblr media
“Whoa!” he managed to choke out, still cackling loudly.  “Easy there, my dude - it’s just lil’ old me providing a fascinating tidbit over here.  No ghosts or ghouls or murderers out for your blood.”  Laughter dying down into chuckles, he considered for a moment and then added, “Actually, I guess there’s no way for me to prove that I’m not a murderer out for your blood, so let’s take my noodle arms as evidence that I’m too weak to lift an axe and leave it at that.”
Making a split-second, impulsive decision - the only kind Lucky tended to make, really - he slid from his own chair, snapping his laptop shut and carrying it with him over to the other’s table, pausing only to swipe up the package of cookies from the ground.  Sitting across from the other without invitation, he waved the snack in the air.  “And yeah, I mean the cookies.  Apparently the way you eat oreos can tell your personality type.  For instance,” he continued.  “I wouldn’t eat these right now, ‘cause I don’t have any milk to dunk them in.  Apparently dunkers tend to be energetic, adventurous, and social.  Which means I’m batting three out of three, at the moment.”
He felt ridiculous, jumping as high as he did. Jitae’s cheeks warmed up, dusty rose gracing his skin as the younger male cackled loudly. He really wished he hadn’t been in such a daze, if only he had been more awake and focused on his surroundings he wouldn’t have been so startled and wouldn’t be the target of this guy’s laughter.
While the other’s laughter died down, he continued to speak excitedly about murderers and ghosts, but that didn’t really phase Jitae. Instead he decided to focus on the way the younger boy addressed him: my dude. “That’s a new one...” he mumbled to himself as the kid mentioned something about an axe or another. He couldn’t really make out a lot of what the kid was saying only because he himself wasn’t paying a whole lot of attention. Still kicking himself in the butt for falling asleep (only a little!) and getting the fright of his life.
He was pulled out of his thoughts when he noticed that the younger boy had decided to occupy the seat on the opposite side of the table, now sitting across from Jitae. Letting out a quiet, “Oh...” Jitae reached out to grab hold of his papers, gently stacking them into a haphazard pile closer to his person rather than the center of the table. Since he didn’t really have a whole lot of a choice, he decided to just hear the kid out... I mean, what could be the harm? It would allow him a few minutes to focus on anything except his study evaluations. It’s just two dudes... sitting in the library... sitting a table apart.
“The cookies can tell your personality type...?”
Now he was intrigued. Could he have been sitting on a gold mine of knowledge all this time and not known? Oreo cookies telling your personality type? Perhaps this could be his next subject of interest. The snack he always carried unknowingly carrying secrets? He wanted to know so much more. Maybe he could write his thesis on this...
He nodded his head softly as the lad spoke about his method to eating the cookies, the information he provided seemed to make sense. Jitae’s brain was suddenly alert, wanting to see if the information correlated correctly with the boy’s personality and behaviors outside of this very situation.
“Three out of three? Really?” he tilted his head, eyes gazing towards the package of cookies that were picked up off the floor, “Could you tell me more?”
Tumblr media
Maybe it was fate that he hadn’t gone home earlier that day.

a hypothesis.
[ ’ ride or die ’ ] starter for @iriscoded  – ! 💭
It was a nice day today, the sun was shining but not in a way that it was offensive. There was a soothing, gentle breeze passing by and causing the branches of the trees to sway softly, almost dancing as created shade for everyone who walked on the campus. It was such a nice day that eating outside was enjoyable, and certainly a much better option than choosing to stay in the crowded student union building or the cafes with never ending lines to order your lunch, much less acquire a table.
Jitae really enjoyed being outside, it felt so serene, and brought happy memories of his travels around Europe to mind. It was even more enjoyable than usual since today he was eating with his best friend, Eojin. Honestly, the sugar addicted giant was more like a brother to Jitae than a best friend. Their meeting had been a little interesting, but once they had gotten to spend more time around each other, they quickly warmed up to each other and became inseparable.
Today they were snacking on brownies. Of course. When was it not something sugary? Eojin had brought the snacks today, and they were the best kind of brownie. The kind where the top layer was crunchy and flaky... that would reveal a gooey soft center... and leave your fingers sticky with sweet chocolate. Jitae happily chose the five pieces he wanted. It had to be five. No more, no less. He smiled wide at Eojin, thanking him before beginning to pick at the flaky surface of the first brownie he chose.
As the pair began to eat their snacks and chat idly about how their classes were going, annoying new tasks they had to handle at work, and their little side project of dream observations they were working on in their free time, Jitae’s mind intruded with a thought. A very interesting one. He blinked, taking into consideration the notion he was about to bring to the table.
“Huh...,” he spoke out, shifting his gaze from Eojin’s chocolate covered face to the pile of brownies between them on the table. He began to pick at a brownie, pulling the crunchy surface off of it bit by bit as he nibbled his sugar coated bottom lip. Then he opened his mouth to speak, “I have a hypothesis.”
“What if you injected brownie mix into your bloodstream?”
Tumblr media
He paused to give the other boy a moment to consider before continuing, “Like, since your body temperature is like, 98 degrees, the brownies would cook over a few days and then you will have clumps in your arms and you just cut it open and eat the brownies.”
He shook his head at the table, distant expression plastered on his face, “I should be a scientist...”

Tumblr media
it was odd that so many androids and machinery started malfunctioning at the university lately, there were many things that needed immediate repair. or perhaps, the reason leon noticed it was because he was being sent out more often instead. it had to be either one of the two. after all, biorepair was busier than it looked on the surface, a small shop tucked in akihabara, they had a lot of requests all over the city, people who preferred a cheaper and faster option to neatech. after all the company was much slower than they were, so they won on that front.
so, when his boss tells him to hurry and get his ass over to shujin again, leon is surprised but curious at the same time, wondering what isn’t working this time. it doesn’t take him long to get his backpack and rush to the scene, but then again, he is quite late. he stumbles into the classroom, seeing the rows of students looking bored as hell, and the assistant sweating bullets trying to fix the machinery.
leon moves towards what seems to be a problem and greets the assistant with a nod, trying to calm them down with soothing words. in the next few minutes, he is sitting on the floor cross-legged, pulling out the hardware of the mainframe for the projector. it’s quite busted, but he thinks he can replace some wires for a temporary solution. adept fingers take apart the wires, and in ten minutes, he is done. leon is glad he isn’t a human, but he feels the itch to wipe the sweat off his brow nonetheless.
it’s then the assistant gets a text to postpone the lesson, and groans can be heard through the classroom. they really should have let the students go if they weren’t going to hold class in the first place, but it is what it is. many of them scramble away hurriedly, and leon feels the need to apologize, even if he did his job as soon as i could. “i’m sorry you had to wait.” he tells to the student, bowing a little in apology.
"Dumpling... an eight lettered word... d - g - i - l - m - n - p - u...,” Jitae’s mouth moves subtly as he mumbles the alphabetical order of the letters in the word “dumpling,” trying to keep himself preoccupied while the class assistant works away at the malfunctioning machinery. Not really one to get impatient, the dark haired boy just busies his mind with counting letters and breaking words about just to pronounce individual sounds to himself. It’s only when the door opens and a new individual enters the classroom that Jitae’s wandering mind comes to attention.
Seeing the way this new person moves swiftly towards the assistant and begins to speak tells Jitae that this must the one the class has been waiting for, their savior – the repairman. Unlike the other students who don’t seem to pay him any mind and continued chatting with one another or scrolled on their phones with monotonous expressions, Jitae tilts his head to the side mildly. Curious about the work the repairman is about to perform.
This repairman is unlike what Jitae’s imagination pictured him to be. Not to be one to believe stereotypes, but he’s somewhat surprised by just how young he seems to be. Jitae’s mind had conjured up someone in their middle aged years... perhaps with a bit more weight to carry than what’s in their backpack alone. However, appearances don’t seem to matter once the young man begins working away at the wiring of the machinery. Working with such finesse that leaves Jitae speechless, mouth hanging down in surprise. He wishes he was closer to be able to see it better. He worked with such speed that Jitae couldn’t help but ... stare. His eyes gazed with an intense focus, it seemed as though he was glaring at the other man.
Tumblr media
It wasn’t long until the issue had been solved, but to the dismay of the students, the class being postponed until the next scheduled meet up. A chorus of groans and hushed cheers can be heard from the students, rising from their seats to file out the door and carry about their now freed up days. Jitae, however, doesn’t move out as quickly as the others. He stares at the youthful face of the repairman, who apologizes to the students even if he wasn’t at fault for anything. Taking in a deep breath, Jitae stands from his chair slowly, pushing it in and shuffling to the exit slowly behind the last few lingering students. “What a drag today has been...,” he thinks to himself as he flickers his gaze once more towards the bowing repairman. Deciding to make his thoughts known, he stops walking and turns his body to face the apologizing man. With a blank facial expression he opens his mouth and lets the string of ideas plaguing his mind flow out,
“You don’t really look like a repairman, ya know. I think that’s kind of cool, you really took me by surprise.” Tilting his head to the side he studies the other’s face a little closer, “Also, why are you apologizing?”

The day passed by in a blur, and Sunhee was left to wonder just where all the time went. One moment she was on a bus to school, next she was racing to work, and now she was home, writing up a paper on the history of technology for a class. She was extremely tired; but, she pressed on, holding back yawns that tried to escape.
All was quiet in the Park household, her mother off visiting relatives, Bear ‘sleeping’ quietly on his makeshift bed. Sleep was all she wanted to do, but she couldn’t. The paper was due by the end of the week, and she already postponed it as much as she could.
A soft click echoed through the home, fingers pausing over the keys, as Sunny glanced over at she shoulder, brows furrowed. Her mother wasn’t expected to be back till the morning, and that’s when the panic set in. Regardless of living in the more quiet part of the lower level, it still wasn’t the safest. Her mind raced with possibilities of what could happen.
Instinctively, Sunhee reached for the closes thing to her, a metal arm she was currently repairing, and held in close as she made her was through the house.
His parents had always reinforced the idea of hard work, ever since he could begin to understand what they were saying to him. Even if he no longer lived under the same roof as his parents anymore, he can’t rid the rules and lessons taught by them. There are some things that just stick – even more so when they’re taught to you at such a young age and reinforced all throughout your youth.
As such, Jitae works as hard as he can. Being a full time student at Shujin University and working as many hours as he can fit into his day at the Yamazaki Antique shop. On paper his schedule isn’t too bad. However, on paper never accounts for any variables on the status of his physical or mental health and wellbeing. Because of this, Jitae often seems to pile on more work than his body can actually handle. He also doesn’t seem to help himself out when he often forgets to eat, or continually injures himself by fault of his own carelessness.
Today is a day unlike any other. Waking up before the sun rises to commute to campus. A schedule full of morning classes. Rushing to commute back to the lower layer. Changing into his work uniform. An afternoon of dusting and doing inventory. An exhausting, achingly long walk back home. All of this while barely finding the time to feed his stomach.
Finally reaching the steps to the Orchard Housing, Jitae sighs in relief. He can’t wait to fall onto his mattress, laying in the dark with no sounds to agitate his mind. Cooking up some vegetable stir fry would be nice, too... his stomach growled to agree. Going up the stairs to his home, Jitae pulls his backpack off his shoulders, rummaging inside for his keys.
Completely exhausted and distracted, he doesn’t notice that he stepped up to a door that is not his own.
Tumblr media
Finding the keys, he smiles tiredly, picking for the one with the yellowed masking tape that read “HOME”. Fitting the key into the lock, he finds that it resists to go in completely. “Huh...?” He pulls out the bronze key and flips it, maybe he just put it in the wrong way. It resists again.
“Please, no... I just to want to lay down...” he whines softly, beginning to shake the door handle softly. Sometimes it got jammed and just needed a little wiggle to reset. Forcing the key back into the lock, he wiggles the handle all while trying to twist the key. Miraculously, it worked. Jitae let out a sigh of relief upon hearing the small click that signified a successful turn of the lock.
“I’ll have to get that checked out in the morning...” he mutters softly as he turns the knob to open the troublesome door, eyebrows furrowed in exhaustion and mild disappointment. Yet, all Jitae could really think of was how his mattress was calling out to him, how the smell of stir fry will soon fill the room, and how he will soon be sleeping soundly in his apartment.

Lucky was doing great.  This was the time of day he worked best - long after the sun had gone down, long after nearly every reasonable person in the city had gone to sleep.  Morning classes were a problem for Future Lucky - he’d probably end up sleeping through the majority of his first lecture again.  But at that exact moment, he was as productive as it was possible for a usually highly-distractable nineteen-year-old to be.
That wasn’t to say he was doing homework, of course.  That was still something going a bit over his head, and he was hoping that if he ignored it long enough it would just go away.  It probably wasn’t a viable strategy, but it was the one he was going with.
Besides, it wasn’t as if he wasn’t actually working on anything - just that it was a Matrix project, not a Shujin one.  It was a virus, though what in particular it was going to be used for he hadn’t been informed.  All he had to do was make it undetectable, and make it destructive.
A few more taps to the screen, and Lucky decided he was at a good enough pause point to take a break.  Pushing his chair back, he raised his arms up above his head in a luxurious stretch, smiling a bit to himself as he slipped off the large headphones that had been covering his ears.  The shift from loud electronic music to absolute silence was deafening, and Lucky stared around the library with wide eyes as he realized that he was the only one left in the vicinity.
No, wait.
There was someone else, two tables over, papers spread out in front of him and a look of absolute exhaustion on his face.  He was eating oreos, Lucky noticed, and less than a second later the words had jumped from his brain to his mouth, as usually bypassing any potential stops along the way.
“Did you know those things can tell your personality?”
Coming back to studying after realizing how late it was seemed to be harder than starting to study in the first place. Since he broke his focus, his sleep-addled mind kept trying to whisk him off onto dreamland. Falling asleep would be so easy right now, it’s nice and quiet here... not too warm... no one would bother him if he just shut his eyes for a little while...
Jitae groaned each time he snapped back to, his head having lolled to the side. Rubbing at his burning eyes, he let out a grand yawn, stretching his legs out underneath the table and groaning at the tension in his stiff muscles.
“I’m never going to get anywhere at this rate...” he thought as he gazed at all his papers sprawled out on the table before him chaotically. Jitae shook his head in disappointment, reaching out for another oreo and nibbling on it tiredly. Hopefully a little sugar will work to wake him up properly.
Well, let’s say the sugar didn’t wake him up as well as the only other person in the library did.
Jitae jumped. Oreo shooting out of his hand and onto the floor, chocolate cookie crumbs sprinkling the floor. His whole frame essentially shot out of his chair - he wasn’t scared, though. Okay? He was very sleepy. Dozing off. Anyone would shoot out of their skin jump at a sudden movement or loud sound. Jitae snapped his neck to face the source of his heart attack surprise.
Tumblr media
It’s that other boy. The one who was previously hunched over his computer with headphones on. How in the world is he able to stay that active at this hour? Jitae just kept staring at him, head moving left and right slightly in confusion – he wasn’t being rude! He just really couldn’t believe he was being spoken to from two tables away...
“Those things...,” Jitae uttered softly, looking around in confusion more. “Y-you mean... my... cookies...?” eyebrow piqued, hesitantly pointing to the disfigured dessert on the floor. What was this kid even talking about? There’s no way a cookie could tell a thing about your personality...

closed starter for @triviahaze !
After having breakfast at the hospital with his father, Rin goes back to the tattoo shop and prepares his dog, Zeus, for a morning walk. He puts the leash on the dog and laughs as the animal jumps and moves around in excitement, already anticipating what’s to come. After some whining and crying from the dog’s part, Rin finally walks out of the shop and locks its door.
Zeus wags his tail frantically the moment they step out on the street, and the smile on the human’s face denounces how happy he feels to see his dog happy. The dog, as well as Rin’s father, is one of the most precious things in Rin’s life and he can’t help but do whatever he can just to keep the puppy healthy and safe. Zeus is a clear example that big dogs, such as pitbulls, are just as friendly and inoffensive as small poodles. They’re adorable big babies.
So after a couple of minutes walking with his dog, he takes a little break. He goes through the bag he brought from home and pulls an empty bowl from inside of it, then he puts the bowl down on the floor and fills it up with water from a bottle that he also brought in the bag. He smiles again when he sees Zeus busy himself drinking the water, and he takes the time to just stand there and look around. He looks at the people that walk past him, frowning every now and then when he spots an android ( it’s an involuntary reaction ).
Tumblr media
But a bigger smile forms on his lips when he sees a known face walking towards him, and a quiet chuckle escapes from his lips as he watches the younger man run clumsily towards him — so adorable and precious, it reminds him of why he likes Jitae so much: he’s so spontaneous and genuine. Rin feels like he can read right through him.
Yawning loudly and shaking his head softly to the side, Jitae does his best to wake himself from his sunshine slumber. It had been a little difficult paying attention in his classes this morning. He woke up with plenty of time to ready himself for his day, but was met with misfortune when he realized he had misplaced his city transport pass. Spending the greater part of the early morning hours hunting for it, he didn’t have enough time to eat. Barely making it out the door in time to catch the train to take him to the middle layer.
It wasn’t that troublesome at first, the first few hours passed with no incident. That is, until his stomach decided to speak up for him during a class discussion. Jitae’s eyes widened and his cheeks flushed a vibrant shade of rose. Chuckling nervously, he retreated on himself and wrapped his arms around his abdomen tightly. He silently cursed himself as he heard the lighthearted chuckles of his classmates.
“I should have organized my things before heading to bed...”
While that in of itself had been embarrassing enough, Jitae still had a long way to go before he could find himself something to keep his empty stomach occupied. The next class wouldn’t be finished until around lunch time... and then the campus would be bombarded with students trying to get something to eat... those lines just never seem to go down... and by the time they did, the restaurants and cafes would be completely barren... Having not eaten in the morning really wouldn’t be such a big deal, but the issue lies in that Jitae has been hospitalized for malnutrition one too many times.
And as fate would have it, the moment his final class of the day finished, the campus was swarmed with students moving in every which direction. Jitae sighed, arms full with the weight of his notebooks and assignments. He dashed out of the classroom in hopes to be early in the queue for the campus cafe. But his efforts were thwarted, seeming as though other students had the same idea as him. With his day going impossibly awry, he decided it best to just give up on finding something to eat and head home instead. Of course, with living in the outskirts of the lower layer, he wouldn’t be home for a few hours. How frustrating.
Tumblr media
Walking down the streets of Shibuya to get to the transportation station, Jitae struggles to focus on the path ahead of him – mind dozing off into fantasies about meals he can’t even begin to afford on his budget. Blinking to keep himself awake (and on this planet), Jitae’s eyes land to focus on a familiar face. Thinking at first that it could just his delirious mind playing tricks on him, he pays it no mind.
However, the person doesn’t seem to be blurring out into nothingness. Suddenly, Jitae’s anguish about a long day on an empty stomach is forgotten as he bolts towards the taller male. His empty book-bag swaying chaotically to and fro as he runs clumsily, arms still carrying heavy books and school supplies. But, he couldn’t care less. He hadn’t seen this person in what felt like forever. His adrenaline pumping madly as he gets closer and closer, until he’s just inches from him.
“Riiiin!!” Jitae calls and drops his supplies on the pavement, reaching his arms out to embrace the taller man in the tightest hug he could muster. “It’s been forever, I’ve missed you so much!!”

[ ’ chatterbox ’ ] starter for @luckyleetaeseok – ! 💭
His shoulders were so stiff. It ached to roll them. Shutting his eyes and nodding to himself, he pushed his chair back away from the table and stretched his arms up. Rolling his shoulders slowly as not to cause any further pain to them. Jitae had spent most of the day in the Library of Alexandria hunched over his notes and textbooks. There was an exam coming up soon and he needed to focus as much as possible, writing evaluations was one of his weaknesses and he needed to address that as soon as possible. He hated having to remember every little detail of a psychological study, it felt so tedious, but this is the path he had chosen so it’s best to shut up and suck it up.
Feeling that just stretching his arms wasn’t enough, Jitae stood from the chair and groaned feeling the tiredness from all of his joints. How long had he been sitting like that for? Wincing slightly as he craned his neck to glance at the clock, his eyes maintained their ever present sleepy appearance. That is, until he read how late it was. They snapped open wide within milliseconds.
“How has it gotten so late..?” he whined softly to himself. He had immediately trekked to the library after his last class of the day, needing to rewrite his notes to remember all of the variables and controls from the study synopsis he received that very day. He had been so caught up in his work that he genuinely did not feel the time pass, or notice the population dwindling within the library.
It was so late that he didn’t even eat... luckily, he always kept some snacks in his backpack. He reached in and grabbed the plastic lunch bag containing five oreos. He smiled tiredly seeing the perfect number of cookies and proceeded to nibble on them quietly. “I wonder if there’s anyone else here...” he thought, deciding to take a small break to just gaze around the quiet building. There was one other person that Jitae could see. He frowned in concern, thinking how tired that boy must be. “Hopefully he finishes quickly and can proceed home for the night..” Jitae sighs around oreo cream and then turns his body to return to his own studying. What a drag...

new beginnings.
starter for @leonsat – ! 💭
Of course he had spent all that time worrying for nothing. What had been the point of reviewing for the lecture review so late into the night, and then again on the train during his commute to campus? Jitae was more than a little exasperated, all he wanted to do was get this class over with so he could go home. Unfortunately for him, things never go his way. Ever.
Upon entering the classroom, he and the rest of his classmates are informed that the classroom equipment is having technical difficulties and thus, the lecture review and new lesson will be postponed until they are repaired. Shoulders slumping in disappointment, Jitae trudges towards his unassigned assigned seat and plants his chin on a bandage wrapped palm. He inhales sharply through his nose and stares out blankly around the classroom. Eyes slowly crawling from student to student. He wasn’t very chummy with the other students in his classroom, only ever speaking to them when he had to for an assignment. As per the usual, he didn’t have anyone to talk to, so he retreated back into his thoughts.
Tumblr media
“Maybe I could get some dumplings for the way home...”
Feeling his stomach clench at the thought of food, he noted to purchase some snacks on the way back home. Maybe some noodles would be good, too? Ah, what did it matter? He just really hoped that the repair-person would arrive soon. The longer it took for class to start, the longer he had to sit there in silence as the other students filed in and started chatting up one another. He figured studying would be the best option at the moment. Sighing once again, he reached into his backpack and pulled out his notes.
“I hope this class just ends soon already.”

is it time to wake up already? 💭 howdy again, everyone  ~ ♡ i’m here to share my second son, jitae bang, with all of you ! thank you all sou much for showing sou much support with kinam. i’m really eager to share jitae with you now! i’ll be talking a little more about him and his constant daydreaming below 💕
p.s. i’m fluent in english and spanish, if you’d prefer to interact in one language over the other please let me know!
◎ jitae bang is the son of a wealthy family from south korea.
◎ unlike other the other children he grew up and went to school with, jitae was never given luxurious presents or androids to play with. his parents enforced the idea of hard work from a very young age. as such, jitae knew that everything was earned and not given.
◎ the bang family preferred a traditional lifestyle, only interacting with technology when it was really necessary. his parents were very strict growing up and jitae was given many responsibilities to handle.
◎ yet, while he lived up to the standard that his parents presented to him, it didn’t seem like they were all too impressed. when jitae turned ten they began to look for a boarding school to send him off to.
◎ at age twelve he stood in the middle of a crowded airport all by himself. his luggage at his side. and no one to wish him a safe trip. he thought his parents would at least come by to see him off. they did not. he refused to cry. waiting. no one came, and eventually the airport security guided him to his gate where he would sit and wait for the plane to take him to his new school in switzerland.
◎ jitae did not fit into his new school environment. he did well academically. as usual. however, he didn’t make any friends. he was excluded by the other children. but he was rather accustomed to being left alone, and preferred it.
◎ his interests included psychology, literature, and nature. his room was covered in books and journals. he much preferred the worlds in books and his daydreams then his present reality.
◎ unfortunately, his daydreams didnt help him much with social situations. hes super awkward and doesnt have many friends. he also developed a few quirks that he never really learns to outgrow.
◎ after secondary school jitae explored europe before going back to south korea. after coming home he immediately began applying for university. he got into his first choice school with ease.
◎ he found that fitting in at university was necessary and enjoys it much more than secondary school. no one cares if he thinks that the number 2 feels like red. no one cares about him much at all. theres just sou much going on that jitaes weird antics go generally unnoticed. his major is psychology, minoring in neurology. both with a focus in oneirology.
◎ jitae happily resides in the orchard housing in jinbocho. far from the noise and commotion of tokyo. the commute times to university can get pretty troublesome, but jitae much prefers sitting on the subway for a couple more minutes than losing sleep because of gunshots or loud, careless people.
◎ he is happily employed at the yamazaki antique shop, a place where he can daydream happily about the antiques and what they must have gone through in their past.
◎ jitae is incredibly accident prone, and spends more time in the sasaki medical clinic than he does in his own home. you will never not see him with a bandage or medical wrap on.

INCOMING MESSAGE …
FULL NAME: jitae bang ALIAS: haze DATE OF BIRTH: 2119/02/14 ALIGNMENT: pro-android OCCUPATION: student at shujin, psychology major; clerk at yamazaki antique shop AFFILIATION: n/a ACCOMMODATION: orchard housing, jinbocho FACECLAIM: kim seokjin
ACCESSING: BACKGROUND …
haze | noun | /hāz/ : vagueness or obscurity, as of the mind or perception; confused or vague thoughts, feelings, etc.
Jitae Bang is the son of a well-off family. One look and you could think that he was just another rich, spoiled brat with a silver spoon in his mouth the second he left his mother’s womb. But of course, it’s never right to judge a book by its cover. Unlike most of the high class children Jitae went to school with, he was not lavished in presents. He was not taken out to grand family trips. And he was most certainly not given his own personal android to play games with after school.
While he did live in a rather excessively large house. And have house keepers, cooks, drivers, and nannies – human and android. None of it was his. It was all his parent’s wealth. And as a child they made sure to make this information known to their son. Their luxuries and wealth are all because they worked hard to achieve this success. And as their son, he too, will learn the notion of hard work.
His place in academia was to be the number one student. Regardless of the subject. Because report cards are the single most determining factor to consider when judging the worth of an individual’s life. His place at the house was to maintain a clean and proper home, his parents having requested that the hired staff educate and show Jitae how to clean and care for the house as they worked. Regardless of the task. Because a clean home is a proper home. Jitae lived his childhood under a strict set of rules, and watchful eyes. While his parents were never physically around much, they were always calling (phone or video) their son to make sure he met their expectations. While technology was flourishing and adjusting into the lives of many homes and families, the Bang family preferred the more traditional methods to raising their child and maintaining order within their four walls. Things continued simply this way for many years, until Jitae’s tenth birthday that is.
Boarding schools were such a unique concept. The promise of a well-to-do education for well-to-do children from well-to-do homes. Promises of accepting your sons and daughters as children and returning them as respectable men and women of society. He never really understood why he was being sent to a boarding school in the first place. Jitae was a very well behaved boy, and his teachers praised his intelligence and participation in the classroom. He couldn’t possibly think of a reason for why his family would want to send him away to a strange campus in another country. His brain, still too young, cannot begin to wrap around the idea that it’s a rather cruel tradition for wealthy upper class families to get rid of encourage new ideas for growth in their children. By introducing them to new environments, languages, and cultures. To open new doors. And shut old ones.
Of course, that didn’t matter. They sent him off regardless of his confusion. He could not oppose the words of his parents. For what they said was final. Their words, sacred. They were law, and they were order.
And on his twelfth birthday, Jitae stood there at the airport. With a one way ticket to Switzerland in his clammy hand. Just outside of the entrance to the terminal gates. His suitcases by his side, backpack adjusted tightly on his shoulders. His new school uniform crisp and freshly pressed, shoes buffed and sealed under a fresh coat of wax. The airport’s busy commotion did nothing to stop, seemingly unfazed as a lone child simply stood there. Wearing a blank expression… one that could be confused as sadness if they simply glanced at him. Jitae stood there, motionless, a few moments longer. Waiting. Hoping. The air around him slightly suffocating. He willed himself to stand strong and refuse to let his tears well up and fall. He was valiant. However, the airport security was growing worrisome. It wasn’t long until someone came to the boy and gently ushered him into the gates. Turning his back away from the central hub of the building. He was never given a proper send off to his new school. One that was far away from the country he called home.
His parents had never given Jitae the opportunity to even so much as glance at the campus prior to his send off. He had little to no idea about the place he would call home for the next several years, unbeknown to him. However, the moment he arrived on campus and stepped foot on the gravel, he knew it was going to be troublesome.
It was a citadel for canned though. Finding vapidity in uniqueness. Sharing disinterest in dexterous thinking.
Oh, how he struggled to integrate into the new society he was placed in. None of the other children really showed much interest in Jitae’s fascinations about psychology, nature, or about daydreams. He quickly became an outsider. Excluded. Segregated away from everyone else. Yet, what the other children failed to realize was that Jitae was used to this. In fact, their efforts to make him feel unwelcome only made him feel at home. Solidarity was his only companion.
He continued on like this for years. Excelling in academics, and yet, showing little to no interest in social activities. Instead he stuck to his books, his ideas, and all the wild fantasies he could conjure up in that head of his. Seeping away further and further from reality. Deeper and deeper into the world of dreams. It became so easy for him to do. He could just gaze out, slowly disassociating from reality, and suddenly be on another planet entirely. It was safe. It was comfort. It was the only place where he could really be himself. Since the real world didn’t want him to be that.
His dorm was piled up with novels, research studies, and thick textbooks ranging from the bottom of the sea floor to the careful and detailed analyzations of Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy. On his desk was a composition book full of his daydreams. His personal philosophies. And his innermost thoughts. Every inch of the book was filled, carefully with dates and times. Brackets off in the margins providing supporting source material for his ideas.
While his imagination grew to tremendous heights, it eventually backfired on him. Developing strange quirks that seemed to bother him to no end if he didn’t complete them. He spent more time focusing on words, numbers, and colors than on actual interactions with people. Sometimes stopping mid-sentence just to finish counting the number of letters a word had. He would lose his train-of-thought easily, and would cover many topics at once without taking a breath. It became overwhelming at times… even becoming a walking hazard to himself when he would walk into things or end up leaving scuffs and bruises all over himself. All habits he never learns to outgrow.
He spent more time in his false reality than he did in the real world.
And as such, didn’t pay it much notice when graduation was just around the corner. Rather than choosing to go back to South Korea immediately after completing his secondary education, he chose to wander around Europe and explore the sights for a while before returning back to his home country. Truly letting his mind wander. Finding peace in the open world, as compared to the confines of his school.
The moment he returned to his parent’s home in South Korea he was to begin applications for university. His time spent abroad in Switzerland would prove to be beneficial, as he was able to enroll in his first choice school with ease. Shujin University. Jitae’s parents were proud of their son’s academic success, and they expected him to continue to bring honor to the Bang name. As soon as all documentations were finalized, Jitae was shipped off once again.
Japan and Switzerland felt similar for some time. Both incredibly foreign upon arrival, but both starting to feel more like home than his actual childhood abode. His time at Shujin University seemed to go by much easier than in secondary school. The other students paid him no mind, not because of his strange antics, but because there were simply so many students. So many things to do. So many things to study for. Everyone was just trying to stay afloat…
Jitae preferred to stay as far away from the commotion of Tokyo as possible. Finding solace in The Orchard Housing in Jinbocho. In the outskirts of the lower level. While the travel times were a little bit of a hassle, Jitae much preferred the comforting silence of a good night’s rest. Of a long commute where he could daydream, count the numbers in the letters of signs, or catch up on class material before the next lecture.
It’s no trouble being away from South Korea. Away from his family. Because while all the other upper class children his age got to play with their sparkly new androids and go on expensive trips abroad, he learned to maintain a house. To cook, clean, and care for himself properly. He’s learned to take care of himself as early as he could remember. Never having to rely on anyone else for much. He could fulfill all his childhood wishes now that he’s older and away from his parents. He could daydream selfishly. After all, university is supposed to be a memorable experience, right? What could possibly go wrong?
ACCESSING: PERSONALITY …
POSITIVE TRAITS: humble, outside the box thinker, stops to smell the roses NEGATIVE TRAITS: clumsy, always thinking but rarely pays attention, easily distracted
a seemingly old soul. jitae is a simple boy with simple interests. he likes to read and think. the world is so large, so much larger than we could ever know… and he just wants to understand it, and understand those who live on it. he is soft spoken, but the meaning behind his words are deafening. he’s definitely not the type of person to put himself out there, much preferring to stay in the library or in the comfort of his apartment. spaces out more than anyone would like, and talks some nonsense from time to time, but means no harm. when listening to music he prefers to lay on the floor and shut his eyes, letting it envelope him completely – of course, this looks ridiculous to onlookers, but he pays it no mind. while he is proud of the technological advancements that humanity has achieved in the past hundred years or so, he feels bombarded by it constantly. always feeling overwhelmed by just how much stimulus there is all around him. he finds relief in printed media and things without screens. there is tranquility within it. maybe it’s the fact that it reminds him of his childhood house. the old stillness.
… END OF MESSAGE.
