okay at first ponyboy was extremely annoyed with your whole “love over violence” vibe

he didn’t think you were genuine about it

but after seeing you at every single protest he started to ease up on you a little

he admired the passion you had for peace

one day after a long protest he brings you a yellow rose

you quickly recognized him from around town

you unknowingly take a step back from him

he was hurt by your reaction

but ponyboy tried his best not to show it

the last thing he wanted was for you to be afraid of him

➝ choi yeonjun as a boyfriend

「 confession 」

➝ after he spilled his latte on you

because you were so busy with school work, you only worked at the café on saturdays, but you loved it anyway. it was a very calming place for you. chaewon, another barista who was majoring in music production, had a playlist which always played softly in the background. the café’s only lighting came from string lights across the ceiling and the lamps placed haphazardly across tables around the room. all of the seating was made of comfy brown leather and the whole place smelled like coffee and banana bread.

this early in the morning there were only a few customers sitting and sipping their morning cappuccinos and tapping away at their laptops. you ignored the sound of the bell above of the door, continuing to wipe down the counter while chaewon took the new customer’s order.

“hey, y/n,” chae called you over, her adorable gap toothed smile spread wide across her face, and you finally noticed the boy standing on the other side of the counter. “come say hi to my friend, yeonjun.”

oh wow. he was really cute. he was wearing a pale pink sweater which almost swallowed him whole, but instead of making him look like a marshmallow it just made him look soft and cuddly.

“hi,” he smiled at you. you tried to remember how to breathe. “i’m yeonjun. chaewon-ah was telling me that you’re really good at latte art.”

“oh, i’m okay,” your face felt warm. “i wouldn’t say ‘really good’.”

“shut up, y/n, you have a talent,” chaewon shoved your shoulder with hers.

“will you show me?” yeonjun asked you, his voice a little teasing, like he enjoyed seeing you get flustered.

“uh, sure,” you finally agreed. chae made the latte, but she let you pour the cream on top to make the design. your hands felt more than a little shaky, but thankfully yeonjun didn’t seem to notice.

“whoa, that’s amazing!” his eyes were wide with awe as the shape of a swan appeared on top of his drink. wanting to see better, he leaned forward and without meaning to bumped right into you. the cream splashed out of the cup and across your front, effectively ruining your pretty design.

“oh i’m so sorry!” yeonjun gasped, reaching for edge of his sweater and tugging it over his head to reveal the thin white shirt underneath. “here, take my sweater.”

“oh no, i’m okay,” you tried to assure him, dabbing at your own wet clothes with a cloth napkin.

“no you’re not,” yeonjun protested, sounding really upset with himself. “please, it’s the least i can do after messing up your hard work.”

you hesitated for a second longer before finally taking the sweater out of his hands. “thank you.”

“no, you don’t have to thank me. it was my fault,” he smiled a little sheepishly. “you’re just really cute and i wasn’t paying attention to what i was doing.”

of all the things he could have said, that wasn’t what you were expecting.

“oh—what?”

“i said that you’re really cute,” yeonjun’s confident smile was back. “and i was wondering if maybe i could take you out sometime? you know, to make up for ruining your clothes.”

“yeah,” you bit your bottom lip, trying to stop the smile spreading across your face. “i’d like that.”

➝ two a.m. mcdonalds run

it was another one of those nights where you couldn’t fall asleep, so you called yeonjun, hoping he could talk to you until you were sleepy.

“are you hungry?” he asked you after you had been talking for a while.

“what?”

“do you want to get mcdonald’s with me?”

“you mean, right now?” you asked him, sitting up in bed.

“yeah,” he paused for a second, like he realized it was a little bit weird. “i mean if you want. we can call it a date.”

“sure,” you smiled, the idea of doing something out of the ordinary never more appealing than when you were in one of your restless moods. “but you’re paying.”

“of course,” yeonjun rolled his eyes. “i’ll be there in ten.”

the employees at the drive through weren’t nearly as fazed as you’d expect.

“here are your fries,” yeonjun handed them over. “and your ice cream.”

to celebrate the ice cream machine not being broken, you rolled the windows all the way down and cranked kendrick lamar all the way up on the way home.

“i love you,” you confessed later, while you were sitting in his car in your driveway, eating burgers. “thanks for staying up for me.”

“i don’t mind,” yeonjun smiled at you, wiping ice cream across your cheek. “i love you too.”

➝ taking a bath

you had convinced yourself that you were only a little bit tipsy, but it was clear by the time yeonjun showed up to take you home that you were definitely drunk.

“c’mon, y/n, let’s get your shoes off and then you can go to bed,” your boyfriend murmured to you in the most comforting voice he could muster, carefully maneuvering your body onto your bed.

“no, i want to take a bath,” you pouted. it had been a long night and you felt sticky and gross. you just wanted to smell like your milk and honey body wash and feel yeonjun’s hands in your hair. “i want you to wash my hair.”

yeonjun wanted to find you annoying, but something about how cute your pouty face was made him smile. “okay, y/n, you can take a bath, but then you have to go to bed for me, okay?”

“yay!” you cheered, throwing your arms lazily around his neck. “will you carry me, please?”

yeonjun sighed, rolling his eyes, but he lifted you up anyway, carrying you into the bathroom, where he set you down onto the counter and started running you a bath. you took it upon yourself to start getting undressed, which scared the hell out of him when he turned back around.

“aish, y/n, could you warn me before you just decide to be naked?”

you just giggled, hopping off the counter and into the pile of bubbles in your bathtub. yeonjun washed your hair for you like he promised and you almost fell asleep right there among the bubbles.

it felt like hours later when he helped you step out of the tub. he wrapped you up in a big fluffy white towel and left you to brush your teeth, trusting that you were a little more sober than before.

when you finally stepped out of your bathroom, feeling much cleaner and sleepier than before, he was waiting for you with a glass of water and pajamas.

as he tucked you into bed and pressed a kiss to your forehead, you reached out for his hand.

“you’re going to stay, aren’t you?” the look of fear on your face made yeonjun smile.

“of course, baby.”

➝ even though he teases you 28/9, yeonjun really cares about you so so much and your smile is enough to completely melt his heart.
