A Simple Question To All Bit Users for Horses

Would you use a bit on your dog if he “ran off” while going on a walk and “nothing else worked”? Would you use a bit on your dog if he weren’t “as soft” in a collar? I’m sure you’re saying no right now since dogs are royalty in a human’s eyes, but why use it on your horse if you won’t use it on your dog, or yourself?
