Trixie laughed, “I think it’d be rather sad if I carried my notes around with me when I’m trying to get away from work,” she replied, “Well then we shall both leave it today, shall we? No work, just two people having some drinks.”

You know, if I can ever do anything to help for either of you, all you have to do is ask.” He was aware that the others brother didn’t really know him but it didn’t mean that the offer was any less genuine. Matthew hated the thought of anyone having to experience this but it was especially frightening for those who hadn’t had the experiences most wizards had. “I’m glad though. I’d miss you if you were gone.”

Trixie smiled, “I know and I am grateful for that and you.” It took someone special to offer to not only help her but someone he’d never met but that she cared about. She was glad that she had met him, “I’d miss you too but we don’t have to think about that because I’m not going anywhere,” her brother wouldn’t be here forever, having to return to his other life, but he could at least come back to visit now that he knew she was here.

“Oh, for sure. The best I can do is not bring work home with me but I do stay later than I should most days,” Trixie admitted, “Marking? So you’re a professor then? What do you teach?”

“That’s a relief! I’m glad to hear it too. I’d ask you for your thoughts, but no work talk tonight. I need to train myself to switch mental gears more often,” Dom laughed, taking the spot beside Trixie after her response. “Thanks.”

“Yes, I’d appreciate no work talk. Plus I don’t have my notes with me so let’s wait until our next meeting,” Trixie replied, laughing, “I’m the same. I struggle to leave the work mindset sometimes but I make sure I don’t bring any of it home.”

“And is he alright?” Matthew queried, hoping that nothing had happened to her family. He could only imagine what that would be like to go through. “I know… no one enjoys this really. Don’t let it put you off everything. There is so much more to love. The bad is just a tiny part of it, I promise you.”

“Yeah, he’s fine. I mean, as find as he can be. This whole Death Eater thing is kind of freaking us both out. We’re just not as familiar with the history of them as others are,” she shrugged, “I haven’t really got anywhere to go back to so I’d be staying here anyway,” she admitted, “I’m not planning on leaving either way. I do like it here, despite everything.”

A weird, motivational outlook, I guess.” Aiden chuckled, not really sure as to why he was going into so much depth of explaining the term. “I guess I could say the same.” Aiden told the other with a tight smile, feeling the pain in his shoulder and knowing it was the cause of a rough practice. “A not so great day leading to me feeling the need to have a pint before I head home.”

“Oh,” Trixie said and laughed sheepishly, “That makes more sense. I suppose without context it can be misinterpreted. What a strange phrase...” She didn’t know why she hadn’t heard before but didn’t think too much into it, “Not so great?” She repeated, “Want to talk about it?”

“Is that a Koon piece?” Trixie asked, thinking she recognised the style, “Very affluent indeed,” she commented, “Surely. It would be a shame to keep it hidden from view.”

“Well now you know,” Trixie said with a teasing prod of his shoulder with her finger, “I’m not drinking sorrows. Just unwinding and I am not letting you pay for all my drinks. I would never take advantage of you like that.”

Trixie laughed, “I’ll be honest, not as much as I probably could have if there hadn’t been a lockdown,” she admitted, “I spent a lot of time on the phone with my brother, making sure he was okay and checking in on some other friends,” she elaborated and then sighed, “I’m okay. I kind of wish this wasn’t happening. I mean, I didn’t know about this world for so long and I loved it when I arrived. I don’t want to lose it when I’m just starting to feel settled.”

“They don’t have ideas for new drinks anymore so they just put twists on old ones?” Eva initially replied, not too impressed herself with the description of the drink but then again she wasn’t easily impressed anyways. “I mean at least it’s good right? I hope they gave you a good amount of tequila in that,” she laughed before gesturing for the bartender to come over to take her own drink order.

“I suppose that makes. I mean they do it with movies, why not with drinks?” Trixie joked, “Well I hope so too but I think the point is I can’t taste it. I’ll let you know when it hits me.”

“Well exactly,” Trixie said, “I mean I am interested in alcohol, just not red wine. I’m on the spirits so I probably shouldn’t mix,” she replied, shrugging.

“Yes, I suppose it is and yet I can’t remember the name,” Trixie said, laughing, “Must be but I’d have a hard time when I run out of ideas. I wonder if there’s just one person or if the people who work here all help.”

“You know me, Nick, always the organised one,” Trixie replied, laughing with him, “Speaking of your writing, are you ever going to let your favourite sister read some of it?” She asked, smiling hopefully.
