GEB 650 Entertainment Business Finance Journal Post
So, after four weeks in this course I can truly say that even though I was overwhelmed at first I have very much learned a lot and have some substantial knowledge of the practical requirements evolved in financing a business and all the elements of math and statistics involved. The course has taught me that finance doesn’t have to be complicated but simply organized and done under the right formulas and forms. A big thing I learned from the course was how the loans and startup costs work and the amount of typing in numbers and percentages can take a toll on you. Running a business is not a simple venture and requires planning and the right attitude.
The forms and sheets we filled out certainly facilitated the process and made it seem simple at times. Business finance is a interesting course that shows you how to crunch the numbers and show them off in a statement. Taxes and interest rates are a pain but really help to track and be able to stand on your feet in the capital world. In essence the course was very much a breath of fresh air and a new look on the program that was not expected. I appreciate all I learned and will take it into account once I begin to start my own business in the near future.

Leadership Mastery Journal Post
Based on my readings and what I’ve learned from the course I truly believe I am very much Maxwell style. The reason is because I am naturally this way and will be more successful being myself as much as possible. All though I must admit having a little Greene in you is never a bad thing I will try to keep the laws at a minimum in the industry I am looking to enter. Now, in the one I’m currently in I have to be Greene because of the aspect of my current profession, which is sales. A big component of why Maxwell will aid me in the sports entertainment business is because of the concepts he emphasizes, rather than laws in the Greene book. I think that Maxwell is much more flexible and willing to go with change rather than the Greene book with really makes you into a more aggressive and success hungry professional.
A concept I really liked in the Maxwell book is problem solving, I believe that will be one of the things I will be doing the most as a leader in the sports entertainment industry. Fighting is chaos sports are chaos, and being able to manage that craziness and at the end of the show delivering an amazing product will really be the goal for me. I truly believe Maxwell will help me do that. The statement in the book “There is a world of difference between a person who has a big problem and a person who makes a problem big.” (Maxwell 1993) I am of the mind that if you do and emit good, good will come. I am a competitive person but do not wish to win by stepping on others, that is one reason why I will take Maxwell over Greene for my chosen industry but will keep Green in my toolbox for sure.

Mastery: PDL timeline goal
The original goal I set out to achieve through this course was to be able to make people relate themselves with a fighter’s story and enjoy the brand that I’ve created. So, to great extent I have achieved that because of the lessons I’ve learned regarding how important it is to develop a brand in which people can create a strong connection to and find trust in. Another aspect is that the brand is not only something people can see and hear but also have a connection to, and that’s a huge point that I will highly emphasize on once I create my own business and launch it to my customers. I will use the knowledge squired not only in my academic goals but also in my current profession; developing a brand I the only way to have a strong customer base that will follow your product or content not only because of how good it is but because of how it changes and better’s people’s lives.
Another lesson I’ve learned from the course is how visuals and messages get into people’s heads and create an expectation and belief in the mind of the consumer. The mission statement doesn’t always have to be this huge long expensive message but just a condense and desire promise about what the employee’s and the company itself will do. So, I will use these tools in my business which is the podcast that I’m building and in my professional goal which is to become a leader in the sports entertainment world. At the personal level, I will use a very similar approach in how networking with people to create stronger and more lengthy bonds will help me on the long run in life, after all without each other were very limited in what we can do.

Project and team Management
During the Project and Team Management course I have learned a great deal of things. First off I had never taken a course where I was given so much creative freedom, that really helped me be even more happy and energetic towards the assignments. Another great aspect of the course was teamwork and using our imagination to create. I believe in teamwork and certainly believe it is the only way to achieve our goals. So in reality I am very satisfied with the course and learned a lot from the material and the assignments I completed. managing a team is no easy thing but the course definitely helped shape this task into a much more obtainable and reachable one. I highly recommend this course and have gained many great tools that will help me during my mastery Journey.
