Thoughts about the general feelings of the Tron franchise.

I know we're all upset about the movie, and don't want to support a pedophile.

I'm not supporting it either

But this means we HAVE to support Tron Catalyst as much as possible if we want to see more content in the future. And I think Catalyst is in the direction we want to see that content go in.

So. Hype up the game as much as you can. Go buy it. Play it. Get your friends to play it if you can. Talk about it. Post about it. Get it trending if you can.

I know we all probably are, already, but all the more if we can.

Oh yes!!! I would be delighted to have the zine linked with Mission Day!

...Thought: So I know this has been dead for a while, and it was originally just a silly bit, but... w.r.t. the last post, I was thinking what if we wrote the Tron 3 we wanted to see. But the problem there is, there are so many of us, with so many brilliant ideas that could potentially conflict.

So: What if we put together a zine/anthology where everyone could submit their dream version of Tron 3? You're welcome to submit a script, a novella, a story board, concept art, anything you like. I'm happy to do the formatting and editing to make a polished document. Part of me is thinking, we can make this pay what you want and have the money raised donated to a charity (girls who code again, or maybe an org that helps sa victims as a middle finger to the actor?), but at the same time, I would not want to be the one to handle the money.

So what do y'all think?

@evecolourshock putting your tags here because 100% agree. Anyway I think we have enough artists and writers in the fandom that we could make Tron Asterisk at the very least a written novel or comic, if not an animated film.

The creative team dropped the new logo for Tron Asterisk! It looks fantastic!

You know one of my favorites piece of Tron Madea is the manga Tron: atonement

I think it is a beautiful story of Tron having to deal with his gillt with what he did as the rinzler and having to find himself again after the events of legacy.

It's like a battle shonen if anyone is wondering and the fight are fantastic

The art is fantastic with beautiful backgrounds and characters designs ( they drew Tron so fine 🤤)

The seen in the argon ark were Tron reunites with Beck. With Beck not fully trusting Tron and is skeceptical that Tron has fully broken free from clus control. especially what Beck seen what the horrors Tron has done as the rinzler ( Even though in the deepest part of his heart he still Hoped that the Tron he knew was still there,)and Tron realize that beck wasn't the same apprentice he last seen. This is a Beck that has seen the horrors of war and blaming himself for dragging beck into the war and causing beck sofering. I really like the father and son moment after they both defeated general pavil and both deciding to move on and forgive. I also love it when beck decideds that he's going to help Tron on his journey and stays in the cast.( The joke that Tron makes that beck is like a bug that he still needs to teach. For some reason it was really funny to me)

And don't get me started In the Encom ark when Tron is reunited with Yori for the first time in a long time. The way they both looked at each other. Both seeing the other has changed a lot over the many cycles since they were apart but at the same time looking at each other with sad loving eyes. The way Yori put her hand on Trons face rubbing his scar with her thumb and telling Tron with a smile" your still has handsome as ever." And Tron leaning in to her hand and looking at her one eye and saying " and your still the most beautiful program that has ever rez." ( Kill me please (⁠༎ຶ⁠ ⁠෴⁠ ⁠༎ຶ⁠))

This manga also bless us with Sam and Beck geeking out over motorcycles and cars together.

I also think this manga for exploring the father and son relationship between Sam and Alan.

Okay I've been taking my time thinking through that trailer but-

I seriously think I saw Beck in the trailer! I know someone else mentioned seeing him on a bike but that quick pan to a program on the roof watching Rinzler on the ground...I paused the trailer and zoomed in on what I could see of the program's circuits. I think that's Beck!!

Update on the Mission Day project I mentioned earlier.

Lots more detail at that link, but to summarize the main points:

Back in 2016, there was a line in a TRON game which said that May 14 was "Mission Day."

Some fans got excited that maybe something cool was gonna happen that day

akin to the Flynn Lives ARG starting in 2009, where fans were led on a whole fun adventure, following clues through a network of webpages

but no, this time it turned out nothing happened, and people were disappointed.

and when I heard about that, my own rebellious side went:

Let's make our own interactive Mission Day fan ARG!

Like, what if next May 14 you start seeing fanfics posted on AO3 with mysterious clues in them...

leading to a webring of fan pages and fan blogs, all connected in their own cryptic ways... easter eggs and sneaky links on them all...

Separated by rating, sure, with proper warnings and everything, so people can see the stuff they want, and avoid what they don't...

but NOT restricted by the rigid and sorta LGBTphobic censorship of canon.

so potentially offering a LOT more diversity in fanmade art, writing, comics, animations, games... anything we wanna make.

...And as I got started on this brainstorming, a few things occurred to me.

First:

The main focus of this should be celebration of the great variety of fans and the different ideas they have

and a declaration of our freedom from the "official" owners of canon

Since fans have such a wonderful abundance of different headcanons and AUs, many of which are not compatible with each other in the same storyline...

this will have to be a multiverse.

So.

I'm working on a framing device (one of the entry points to this ARG; perhaps not the only one) which is a webpage featuring text chats between characters, in one of the timelines

It will show their communication as they test a new adaptation to the laser technology, which opens up connections to alternate universes

Then the links to participating fan pages will be listed at the bottom... framed as a record of "different timeline branches" opened by the laser

aaaaand from that point out, the exploration is free.

Anyone who wants their page of fan content included can get in touch, and links can be added anywhere.

So anyway that's my concept. Dunno how long it will take-- maybe the whole year til next May 14, maybe more. Maybe the whole thing's way too ambitious for me to bite off at this point in my life, LOL...

But, anyone who wants to get in on a private chat planning this, or at least talking about it? Feel free to DM me. I'm doing stuff already, with or without y'all, and I'd love to swap ideas.
