Only half joking when i assert that Hajrudin could plausibly be the scribe king instead of Vlad. Like yeah. Vlad makes the most sense. The dentist calls him by name in hells island. He calls the romanov treasure a "family heirloom" in san martín.
But also. What if mr kozak is just an insane weirdo freakazoid who is merely the watcher for an immortal weirdonfreakazoid........ fuck logic and reason this is about hajrudin now
Hajrudin survives multiple aerial crashes and is unscathed after crashing the wankermobile during vlads surprise. Vlad doesnt worry about repeatedly sending his brother in law to do these jobs. Because vlad knows hajrudin is immortal as long as he is his brother in laws watcher. The perfect man to smuggle your christmas presents is the immortal who is too drunk to die.
Vlad is constantly calling hajrudin a loserboy but we save him every time because. He is family. And also because he is one of the immortal kings shocked emoji. Vlad may only be a watcher but for the past 20 years hes been doing the bulk of the scribes work. His desire to get revenge and reestablish himself underground as soon as he gets out of prison would make sense as a man whos duty is to watch over his king. He spent 8 years unable to Do That. His purpose as watcher and the contacts he has in place just. Slipping away. The ability to protect and supply and elevate the plastered scribe king being stolen from him
Vlad communicates with the fated payday crew as a watcher. The same way bain does (unknowingly?) for the elephant. And same the way kento uses the garretts emails to get through to them on behalf of the healer. At this point vlad is a DISTRACTION from the fact intoxicated almir listo was immortal santa god all along.......
