Just finished the Greys Anatomy season finale and URGH I’m pissed. How is that when Mer wanted to leave everyone gave her shit about it but everyone else just left without ANY DAMN WARNING. Honestly, she should’ve just given her notice and left - not like she owed anyone anything there. They villianised her, made it if all the work she had ALREADY done for the hospital - like the Harper Avery Award and the mini livers project and hell the Parkinson’s project were not the reason people came to work at Grey Sloan.
I genuinely can’t believe they blame her for the shut down of the programme - was the physician shortage her fault? NO. Did she introduce the Webber Method? NO. In fact it was Bailey who blurred the lines in their relationship - accusing her of being ungrateful to her work place, which essentially forced her to stay. And when Bailey said “you break it, you buy it.” - that ENRAGED me. You know who broke it - Bailey and Webber. Bailey wants all the credit but none of the blame. When something great happens (usually because of mer) - she’ll be like I taught Meredith grey, but the moment things go bad she needs people to blame and can never take responsibility for her actions. In her tenure as chief, she has taken sabbatical and dropped her job so many times. Clearly she was not meant for the job - as much as proclaimed it since the start of the show. Talk about arrogance. And Webber - talk about another person that blurs the lines of professionalism and relationships in this hospital. He’s literally the person who started this whole circus - standards had dropped of the residency program while he was chief, starting the Webber Method, and not having proper supervision for it. But somehow Meredith is the one that ‘broke’ it. ffs, I hope she builds the place into a MUCH BETTER hospital and proves to them that she wasn’t the problem - they were.

Here is a new episode of Taylor Swift songs and ships that match that song.
Today’s ship is … KOPHIE!! I have loved This Is Us for almost 5 years now (thank you milo ventimiglia 💕) and it’s been Team Sophie for me for the entire time I’ve watched this show. Through the many other Kevin Pearson ships that have existed the entire time - only they have truly stuck with me. I respect the other ships that exist but in my opinion Kevin has never truly loved anyone the way he did Sophie, their timing had never been right - and they really needed to grow individually and experience life outside each other but finally find their way back. Ok wow, I could actually rant some more about why Sophie and Kevin and meant to be but I’m digressing from my point.
After their long-waited(imo) reunion, I was obsessed, kept watching that episode over and over in disbelief (you know the happy kind) and I don’t know maybe subconsciously my mind just ended up seeing them while hearing this song.
Cardigan by Taylor Swift from the album folklore. From what I believe the song is about, is a woman reminiscing her teenage romance that ended when he cheats on her. HEY that sounds familiar. And certain lines really resonated with me were “but I knew you’d linger like a tattoo-kiss, I knew you’d haunt all of my what-ifs” - Sophie mentions how Kevin’s the only man she truly loved and when she sees Kevin and Maddison’s wedding announcement you can see the that wistful look in her eyes. Another line - “and you’d be standing in my front porch light” y’all that’s basically our introduction to Sophie and for some reason we are constantly finding Kevin lingering in front of her house. And of course the hook (?) of the song “when you are young they assume you know nothing but I knew you …” their young marriage, people doubting them but Sophie always knowing the person Kevin is and could be.
Wow this was longer than the last one. Honestly, I really felt them in this song - I’m soo happy they are endgame (as long as there are no more surprises it’s still this is us) To conclude Taylor said it best with “I knew you’d come back to me”.

My recent obsession (more like my not so recent, exponentially increasing) with Taylor Swift and her songs have led me to draw certain connections. Is she writing songs about Joey Potter? Because I swear I’m just listening to songs and watching Dawson’s creek and keep seeing Joey (and more specifically her relationship with Pacey).
For example, “This Love” - 1989 (brilliantly beautiful song if you haven’t heard it.) The song literally starts with a Water/Ocean metaphor which HELLO screams Joey and Pacey with them building their friendship through the rebuilding ‘True Love’ and them eventually sailing off into the sunset (is it sailing into or sailing off into, why don’t i remember this) by ACTUALLY sailing away for the summer. And the line
“When you’re young you just run, but you come back to what you need”
This line is how I would describe Joey in general, not just her relationships because she seemed to always be running, scared to get hurt but eventually she went back to what (or who) she needed.
Anyways, that was my rant for today. Come back tomorrow to listen to more rants I have about TV shows and relationships I’m obsessed with that I can’t talk about with people in my life cause no one gets me and thinks I’m crazy because I’m more passionate about fictional people than actually people.
