did you know that in "This is America" official music video, by Childish Gambino, has a reference to Charleston Shooting committed by Dylann Roof? In the clip, we are able to see a music choir dressed in religious-like attire, where he enters and dances along with the choir (symbolizing the minutes Dylann Roof spent in Bible study) and, after a while, takes out a gun and kills the choir members

Anne Marie Hochhalter, a survivor of the Columbine High School mass shooting, died this Sunday. Hochhalter was shot and paralyzed during the tragedy on April 20, 1999, and used a wheelchair in the 25 years since. She was one of the 21 injured students that day.

Tom Mauser, father of victim Daniel Mauser, spoke out:

“I have very sad news to report. Anne Marie Hochhalter passed away yesterday. Anne Marie was one of the students severely injured in the Columbine massacre. She was paralyzed from a spinal cord injury and suffered from intense nerve pain. Recently she had been through numerous frustrating surgeries, including for a pressure sore on her hip that was infected. She will be greatly missed for her perseverance.”

In late 1999, Anne’s mother, Carla June Hochhalter, walked into a suburban pawn shop, asked to see a handgun, loaded it and killed herself with a shot to the head. Carla Hochhalter's suicide occurred about six months after her 17-year-old daughter, Anne Marie, was critically wounded in the April 20 tragedy and left partially paralyzed.

THE MARILYN MANSON DEBATE

Did Eric and Dylan actually listen to Marilyn Manson? Friends of the two boys have denied that they were fans of his. And while there is no actual evidence to suggest that they did listen to his music, Dylan did have a poster of him in his room.

“Mrs. Klebold indicated that Dylan had a poster of Marilyn Manson and that she asked him about it, and in particular asked him what it meant. Dylan had told her that it didn't mean anything and that he didn't really listen to lyrics of Marilyn Manson music, however, did listen to the music.” (Columbine; Jeff Kass).

Additionally, Eric apparently did sometimes listen to Manson, given that he had written M.M- initials in his journal.

This behaviour seems kind of odd for people who “weren’t fans” of at least SOME of Marilyn Mansons music, but I digress.

Eric Harris went to the Freshman Homecoming with fellow student Tiffany Typher. It was their only date and when she refused to go out with him again, Eric staged a fake 'suicide', sprawling on the ground with fake blood splashed all over him. According to Tiffany, Eric had his friend (Brooks Brown) take Tiffany over to his house. When she got there, Eric was laying with his head on a rock, and there was fake blood around him, and he was acting like he was dead.

Brooks Browns recount of the incident: “Unfortunately for Eric, it wound up being their only date; she didn’t want to go out with him again after that. Eric was pretty bummed out, because he had liked her a lot. So he decided to play a prank on her as revenge. We decided to use some fake blood left over from Halloween to give Tiffany a scare. As the three of us were walking past Eric’s house, I started talking to Tiffany to distract her while Eric set his plan in motion. Then, once he was ready, he let out a scream. Both of us turned in time to see Eric lying on the ground with a bloodied rock in his hand. His head and neck were covered in fake blood, and he was no longer moving; it looked like he bashed his own head in.For a few seconds I played along, acting all concerned for my friend. Then I couldn’t hold it back anymore and I burst into laughter. Eric did too, chuckling hysterically as he picked his bloodied self up off the ground. Tiffany told him that he was extremely immature, and stormed off to her house. Needless to say, Eric wasn’t getting any closer to getting another date with her after that.” (No Easy Answers.)

It is speculated that there was a video of this prank taken. If there was, it has never been released to the public.

an incident that took place on the day of the shooting that often gets overlooked is what happened to jessica holliday under table 13. jessica holliday, who was the centre of the famous photograph with the girl crying with her hands to her head, was hiding under table 13 in the library when the shooting took place. she stated that her leg was sticking out from under the table. dylan walked by her, and mentioned to eric that maybe they should start knifing people. while he says this, dylan straddles jessica’s bare leg, and begins to reload his weapon. jessica stated that she was wearing shorts that day, and she feared that dylan may cut her legs. he did not, however, and jessica escaped the library unharmed.
