It's said simply, quietly. Not with any sardonic tone or overt sappiness - just a statement of fact.

"He's smart, and kind to Pokemon. He's good at learning new things and remembering. He talks about things I don't understand sometimes, but that's okay. If we all understood each other right away, that wouldn't be as fun."

A small smile. "He tries very hard. I'm proud of him."

also, of course, I would be remiss if I didn't share some love with lettie. she meshes so wonderfully with N, he really feels like he's found a friend he can trust and rely on to teach him about the world, and their joint feeling of being misunderstood by the rest of the world gets me so ;A; <3333

I love these two so much, the compatibility between them, how much they value each other and respect each other's differences, how they both try to be kind and understanding in a world that just does not get them. I love that their friendship feels earned, like even if we haven't written out every single beat of the game the history between them is still tangible and affects their interactions with how much they know and remember.

Lettie's parents... tried. And try. They love her, they do, but they never moved past the idea that her silence is a symptom to be treated - that if they do something right, something will change. There's a distance between her and her parents because of this; they're so desperate to work out what it is they're missing, and she doesn't know how to convince them that what they are missing is nothing - that she's not in pain or hiding some secret self from them, that she just is who she is.

It's difficult. Because they love her, and she loves them, but the wall between that and understanding is too thick to speak through.

This girl can teleport with how quietly she walks and she will get away to get into some nonsense if you give her the opportunity. How did she get in that tree.

Interpol is baffled. This is the most proven interaction anyone has gotten with Lettie in the last... two years at least, and she's quizzing one of their agents over why they weren't in Galar during the Darkest Day or even put out a distress signal for other Noted Trainers to answer on their behalf.

Concept: Every time Lettie uses the orb to call the dragon to her for battle, a MASSIVE storm rolls in and it's in the roaring thunder and fire that the legendary creature descends, ready to fight

Secondary concept: This was the dragon's idea.
