they're always bringing experts or activists on the news to agitate about porn and there's a standard script for this that's like "I think sex education is important, I'm not anti-sex, but so much of this porn is violent and misogynistic if not outright illegal, and it's far too accessible to our children"

I want to see someone finally be brave enough to say that the government should just make its own porn for teenagers that accords with community values, so they don't have to go to these shady places to get it. I think the government porn would probably be pretty bad but I would be so eager to hear about the process of designing it. there would be so many stakeholders and consultations. in canada it would have to be bilingual

i actually have some sympathy towards people who are scared of 'tourists' coming into their hobby spaces and stuff.

for the longest time i was a huge morrowind fan. i mean like pre-eso morrowind content, i was a huge morrowind fan. and back then it was very niche, and i didnt know anyone else into it. so i enjoyed it mostly on my own and nobody cared about all my artwork but that was fine.

and now morrowind has a huge fandom that came up very seperate to me, and i dont relate to it at all, because i never had a fandom for morrowind. i dont get why they act the way they do about things, i dont get their in jokes, its tonally really far off from what morrowind fandom was for me. my art used to be one of the first results on google images for sotha sil, and then eso made him hot and it all changed.

and its really easy to feel kind of bitter, because i was here first but i feel distant and dejected from what morrowind is online now, i just dont connect with it. it makes you feel even more lonely to see everyone having fun with something thats similar to what you knew, but not the same. it feels like somethings been taken from you.

but... theyre literally doing nothing wrong. you cant be mad at them. i never owned morrowind, it was never my creation. i just had the luxury of monopolising how i saw it through my own interpretations, whilst now, i have to see other more popular ones. my morrowind didnt go anywhere. i still have that.

eso changed sotha sil forever when they showed him pre-death. mostly, because they changed how fans interacted with him. female custodes are pretty similar.

i guess what im saying is i really feel for people like me who feel really defensive and prickly when they see things like the warhammer community changing, because its not a nice feeling. but that symapthy just gets instantly severed when they dont exchange the same sympathy to new fans and just start being sexist or whatever.

still reading frankenstein and i completely forgot that theres a part where victors wrapping up doing devious deeds on a sparsely inhabited island off the shore of england and he loads all his mad scientist shit into a rowboat and pushes off into the water and then fucking falls asleep with no navigational tools and when he wakes up hes like, adrift with no land in sight and hes like ‘FUCK my creation!!!!!’ even though the monster had absolutely nothing to do with getting him lost in the middle of the fucking english channel and he starts lamenting about how hes going to die and his family is never going to see him again and hes going to go to davey jones locker or whatever because hes been without potable water in a rowboat for like 4 hours and then he sees land and hes like ‘oh thank god im saved!!!’ and he gets to shore and is met with an angry mob who thinks he murdered someone and hes like ‘but where is english hospitality?????’ and theyre like ‘this is ireland you dumb slut’ and as theyre marching him to the magistrate hes like ‘i was still thirsty but did not want to show my weakness……’ like could you even imagine
