âď¸Revised version of the Fiction task entitled âChemistry with Diplomacyââď¸
While along the halls of their penthouse ,on top of the Madison Avenue ,Tatiana overhears a conversation between her father -stressed, but at the same time a little frightened- and a Turkish man speaking in a smug manner. She enters the room and walks towards her father, Edoardo. Edoardo ends the call with the man from the loudspeaker as Tatiana approaches her fatherâs desk.
Who was that? It didnt sound pleasant.
It was just a partner not willing to agree with my companyâs terms
Well, that conversation sounded more than that.
Donât worry ,my princess. I can fix it.
As he tries to conceal his transaction, Tatiana already knew enough. Not because of what Edoardo says, but because of what she hears through the loudspeaker. Her father didnât know, but she can actually speak Turkish, and many other languages, and fully understands the conversation that happened between them.
A dictator from Turkey, named Azhbar Al-Shahid, does not want to pay all the billions he owed Edoardo for providing his army with illegal arms and threatens to divulge Edoardoâs illegal trade if he stops providing them with weapons. Edoardo knows he canât get near Azbhar as his palace is guarded with hundreds of men that makes it difficult for any assassin to go near him.
This fact infuriates him, but it enlightens Tatiana. She actually has a lover from her college days in International Relations at Harvard that, up to this time, is still obsessed with her. His loverâs name is Hussein. He is the son of an ally of the dictator thatâs why he afforded to go to Harvard. He now works as a confidant to the dictator, which deems him useful for Tatiana as she knows Hussein is by the dictatorâs side all the time. To add to that, she knows heâll do anything just for him to be with Tatiana.
It would have been better to meet with him in Turkey but if sheâs seen in that country, Azbhar would think thereâs something fishy. Instead, she decides to talk to him through an encrypted software so in that way no one can track the calls sheâs been having from that region. She fixes herself up, wears the most provocative clothing, and uses her signature alluring gaze on the camera as she talks to him.
It has been like 3 years and Iâve never heard from you after-
I turned you down? I was still my daddyâs âlittle princessâ remember?
Are you STILL his princess?
Almost free from him. if you do something for me, then Iâll be yours.
What is it then?
I want you to kill Azbhar. Once you finish the job,Iâll send a plane to fly you to US. To escape prosecution,to be with me! Iâll fix up everything for you, dear! Iâll clear your name so you will be known as the hero that freed Turkey, rather than a murderer, then you can freely roam New York and we can be together. That sounds good, doesnât it?
So your father agreed to this?
Absolutely!
I thought he never liked me because he feels I will withhold you from working, from doing anything!
That was before! I have changed,to tell you the truth im so tired of working that I just want to stay at home and be with my future husband.
Hmmmm⌠This, this sounds like a good plan.
So youâre willing to do it?
Yes, Baby! I already know what to do. Iâll just tell you when so you can prepare my plane.
A few days after the call, he messages Tatiana and says that he plans to do it on the dictatorâs birthday gala, on the 11th of September. As the party is right around the corner, Hussein prepares all the chemicals and instruments heâll need. He goes through the plan with Tatiana one last time and she reassures him that everything will be fine.
At last! The day has finally arrived. The birthday party is now in full swing and he can see the dictator enjoying himself on the dance floor. While everyone is distracted with dancing, he injects the dictator with potassium chloride as Azbhar dances with the crowd. After a few minutes, the dictator falls onto the ground. Because of the huge number of people at the venue, he easily camouflages and flees the party. The buffer minutes were enough for him to escape as Tatiana sends out an asset to pick him up and drove him to a huge plot of land where a helicopter awaits to fly him to Russia, where her fatherâs private jet lay waiting. Hussein is still high from the suspense and the excitement that heâll finally see the love of his life again. He was still shocked that Tatiana finally agreed with the life he wants her to live in. The only thing that is running in his mind is that Tatiana will never get away from his grasp anymore.
After hours of flying, he finally lands in Russia. The plane was âparkedâ here as Tatianaâs father has a lot of allies from the Russian Government that he discusses âbusiness dealingsâ with and frequently flies them to New York.
As he fastens his seatbelt, Hussein exhales a sigh of relief as he knows he is out of danger. He dozes off because of exhaustion. After sleeping soundly, he opens his eyes and gets greeted by the flight attendant on the jet telling him he has landed in New York. Hussein cleans himself up while awaiting the announcement that he can get up from his seat. He peaks through the window seeing several men waiting for him.
As he descends the stairs, he is greeted by them and escorts him inside the car.
Once he settles in, they restrain him and injects a paralytic substance, and drives into a warehouse. As he slips into unconsciousness, he gets dissolved into a bubbling tub of sodium hydroxide that melts away flesh, actually all of his remnants.
These men were hired by Tatiana to kill him. They were her dadâs assassin that she got in touch with after knowing his contacts. It is an unlucky Friday the 13th for Hussein but a lucky one for Tatiana. She ,finally, was able to get rid of him. She knows she will not agree to his terms of being with him, let alone be the woman he wants her to be so out of retaliation, he-for sure-will expose what she did and her fatherâs clandestine business as well. But she has no choice if she wants her plan to work. All those things that she did for Hussein are just acts that ends the way she wants.
Its been 2 days since the dictator has died, and it was only on the 13th that his death was reported across the Atlantic. Edoardo should obviously celebrate, yet looked puzzled while in his office. He calls for Tatiana and asked her why was his plane used in Russia. She just sat there smirking and said;
I know you are aware that I used up more of your assets.
Tatiana just told him to be thankful Azbhar is gone,but Edoardo wants to know what his daughter did. She explained all that had happened and the only reply from him was;
You do know youâve committed a crime, right?
She responded;
Youâll never be a criminal if they donât know what you did.

âď¸Draft Fiction task entitled âChemistry with Diplomacyââď¸
While along the halls of their penthouse on top of the Madison Avenue ,Tatiana overhears her father,in a stressed, but at the same time a little frightened, and a foreign sounding man speaking in a smug manner. She enters the room with a window overlooking Manhattan that made her father look like an ant. In this situation, her dad is really at his most vulnerable, like an ant that you can easily squish. As she walks towards her father,Edoardo,he ends the call with a man speaking in Turkish
Who was that? It didnât sound pleasant.
It was just a partner not willing to agree with MY COMPANYâS terms

I thought he never liked me and you even called me misogynistic just because I believe wives should just stay home and please their husbands.
That was before! I have changed,to tell you the truth im so tired of working that I just want to stay at home and be with my future husband.

All that was running in his mind was âif any woman asks her husband for divorce without some strong reason, the odour of Paradise will be forbidden to herâ and he knows that Tatiana will never get away from his grasp. After hours of flying,he finally landed in Russia. The plane was âparkedâ here as Tatianaâs father has a lot of allies from the Russian Government that he discusses âbusiness dealingsâ with and frequently flies them to New York.

She was able to prove to her father what she is capable of and later on,gains his trust to help him run the business and even the company. But what about Hussein, why did she got rid of him?
Tatiana will never submit to anyone, not even her father and especially not to Hussein. She knows that he is just an end of a rope waiting to be unraveled. If she does not agree to his terms,he will expose what she did and her fatherâs clandestine business but she needed all the help she can get thus, she dressed up the way she knows how he wants her to be and promised all the words he wanted to hear. The only way out of the agreement was that if heâd die,and thatâs exactly what she did. She never felt anything for him up to his dead but she was glad knowing that she has the guts to easily get rid of someone blocking her way.

Reflection:Before we move along,do take note that i also consider this as a reflection for my fiction task as i felt the task was able to encapsulate the subject and all of its elements. Onto the reflection for this CW Reflection,i would admit that this sounded bitter and negative but i know that if i were to answer in a flowery way, then i will be defeating the true purpose of writing a reflection. I was thinking about my experience in making all of my tasks and that is how if feel. It stems from how i expected a lot from myself and eventually letting myself down after seeing my works. Although,do not confuse this resentful-sounding reflection to how i feel towards CW. I was able to mention as well that it taught me how to analyze each piece that were given to us and iâd have to give credit to our teacher for being able to make the discussion as interesting as possible and explaining to us the different aspects that come with each story or poem.

âď¸Poetry task entitled âIs It You or Me?ââď¸
Reflection: Once I've understood what a sonnet was,i was immediately drawn to it. It made me feel that it tells a story in a concise manner yet filled with emotions, that will eventually lead to a resolution. I know for a fact that I'm still starting out with literature and I'm also aware that i wont be able to capture the true essence of a sonnet and it's form, yet i just really want to capture just an inch of its idea as it just intrigues me. That is when i had an idea of what my subject was. Growing up i felt so insecure about myself that i just redirected that negativity towards other people and trying to crush their confidence as much as possible. Now as i look back,I've realized that i was just trying to fill the void of how i felt that everyone was above me. And i wish that i would be able to pour all of that emotions into the poem im currently writing. All the pain and struggle I've put myself into, not knowing that i was already enough. My current draft, now reading it again, felt that it's still incomplete. I may need to add more and reform its structure.

My overall theme is sunset ,specifically pink sunset.
I correlate this with vulnerability, yet we admire it as a work of art.
We never think about how vulnerable we are at this point in a day;how we are susceptible to danger as it nears nighttime.
We do not see sunsets that way,but thatâs how it is in real life.
I opened myself through this portfolio showing most of my feelings through my work.
With that,i can say i am at my most vulnerable.

âď¸Limerick entitled âDo đ˘ââď¸
Reflection: Another political-esque post. I will not mention this personâs name as i can get arrested. What i wrote is simply how i think of this creature. Ironically,i made it sound a tad bit funny as i chose limerick as itâs format (personally thatâs what i think). Maybe itâs because of the rhyme or how the âstoryâ progresses, but i find it entertaining. A little twist on a horrendous creature.

âď¸Blackout poem entitled âThis is Americaââď¸
Reflection: For me,this poem looks fragmented but i really love how it turned out. It sounded sarcastic, yet it made sense because it does make a part of you jolt on how it realitically captures what is currently going on in USA and how the government (TRUMP ADMINISTRATION) looks at it. Even though it was sarcastic,it was also painful for me to do. For some reason a part of me weeps whenever i think of this poem;how this shouldnât be even happening.

âď¸Coupletâď¸
Reflection: I have a funny memory about this. I misunderstood the instructions and made a poem containing several couplets. Despite that,i was still able to choose a couplet that somehow made sense even though it was meant to support prior lines.
These lines were from a poem that i made about how i felt about my grandmother who passed away recently without having to spend time with her ever since my father, her son, left us.

âď¸Metaphor for poetryâď¸
Reflection: I made this with my partner, who is a dancer and itâs expected of her to have suggested a metapher relating to what she does. The interesting part was, this metaphor that we agreed on was much more deeper and closer to poetry. Indeed, both are beautiful yet difficult to do.

âď¸1-2-3 Self Reflectionâď¸
Reflection: Personally, this was a frustrating task as i tend to nitpick about myself and just having 3-2-1 as my basis made it exhausting. I know I donât have much skills,i know i have more than 2 things to improve on,and definitely i know I donât want to write anything. Surprisingly,i was able to conquer all those hurdles and thatâs why i was able to produce this reflection
*UPDATE: I was able to work on the 2 things i wrote for the second part. It eased up pn the process while i did my fiction task

âď¸Vignette entitled âPandoraâs Ironyââď¸
Reflection: This would sound shallow for other people,i already know that for a fact. Among all of the important things and people my teacher asked me to choose from;why did i choose a charm bracelet? Compared to all of my selection, this one was the easiest to narrow down regarding my experience with it. Additionally, this bracelet was also significant for me just because my mom knows how this meant for me and how âsacredâ the tradition of buying new charms for the bracelet was.
