While the particularly flavorful dish that had been concocted at Zero's request was gaining popularity, they all seemed to act... peculiarly towards it. She was eating the curry with no trouble at all, but half of the patrons of Mehryde's Meyhane or more were toppled over either flailing or relatively motionless. Did they not regain aether in the same way? It seemed to happen each time it was served to anyone that wasn't herself. Thus, it was no surprise when one of the twins stopped to see her, yet seemed equally as taken aback as the other patrons - not that it would show on the voidsent's face if it had been a surprise.

"...The people here are rather curious. Do they not regain their aether by this form of 'eating'?" she asks finally, voice calm if not somewhat monotoned. "Their reactions are... strange."

Okie random headcanons that I'll have to expand on later:

Probably doesn't care about gender which inherently makes her agender. Will accept any pronouns, but most go with 'she' (+feminine terms) due to her voice. She doesn't care enough to "correct" any of them.

Practical to a fault; even after the events of 6.5 she barely understands doing/having things that simply make her happy is a foreign concept.

Definitely ace, noooot entirely sure on romantic orientation yet since she's likely never considered that even before the Flood of Darkness.

Do not hold aether up to her face, she will bite your hand and it will not be a "good" bite.

Aside from taste, her sense of smell is also very muted. Sight and hearing are enhanced compared to an average person, while touch is only slightly numbed.

She visits the Source from time to time, just to make sure everything's alright and for her favorite curry

Zero is the Thirteenth's shard of Azem.

Bleak History [accepting]

"Little remains of my early memory... But I do recall one event that has never faded." Zero begins, though her stoic expression doesn't quite match what she was saying. "I was rather young, as it was before my mother's passing."

"I... recall wanting to be like her, so I snuck outside the threshold of the small village she'd been raising me in, wielding little more than a discarded piece of wood for a shield and a branch for a blade. Everything was fine at first, but it wasn't long before those afflicted by the Darkness early came across me." There's a pause as Zero attempts to remember what happened next. "...Little more than a blur after that point, but I recall the panicked voice of my mother, and pain. I can only assume they were too far gone and I was attacked, only for her to step in before they could kill me."

A gentle hand reached up to the brim of her hat. Zero lowered her head, "I suppose I was... a rather reckless person, even then."

"...I wouldn't know." The answer came simply, plainly. The voidsent touched the tip of her hat with her fingers, lowering her head slightly as she did so. Indeed, that was quite the question. 'Hope' was another concept still a mystery to her despite its return to the Thirteenth, and much had to be done to bring back her world from the brink. Should she even be considering such a thing solely for herself, when there was still so much to be done? Zero didn't know where to even begin. "Perhaps, if we succeed in saving this world... I would return to the Source, see what else I can learn of their world to further aid my own."
