You don’t need to write 1,000 words before you’re “allowed” to take a nap.
You don’t need to work for an hour before you’re “allowed” to eat.
And I really hope none of you have ever held it in because it’s “not time” for a bathroom break during a writing session.
It can be tempting to control your output by withholding things you can’t go without, but here’s the thing: you’re hurting yourself.
You deserve rewards for productivity, not punishments for falling below an arbitrary mark. You deserve the carrot, not the ongoing twitch of the stick.
Set up a reward system that works for you. Incorporate extra special snacks, hobbies, TV/gaming/reading time, maybe add a dollar onto your “treat yo self” budget. Just pick something, anything that’ll make you feel good for succeeding rather than upset for not getting there yet.
Normal human needs and functions are not rewards you have to earn through productivity

I just got a car and started driving again so I was thinking about some safety things for D/deaf/HoH drivers. One huge concern is the possibility of being pulled over and encountering the police.
I have a magnet similar to this on my car in case of that situation
I also keep a notepad and pen in my glove box with my insurance card and registration. I keep everything is in one place so I won’t have to reach around and look like i’m searching for “something”
sure, when my grandfather fought nazis and fascism he was “a hero” and “on the right side of history” but when i do it im “way too sensitive” and “no better than they are”
