captain chim’s first order of business is to bond the team back together, so he forces everyone to do an escape room

it’s an disaster. a truly unmitigated disaster

they argue and separate out into different corners of the room. hen is convinced that the medical inaccuracies in the room’s storyline are clues and she won’t move past the first readout. ravi has a set of keys that match the one they were supposed to find so they bypass half the clues in the first room by accident, fucking them over for the second room

and then an alarm goes off when buck forces the final door open by brute strength instead of using the magnet they were supposed to have found along with the key

they sit in the lobby while they wait for the damages to be calculated. it’s silent and angry for a few minutes as they all stew in what just happened. buck looks even more like a kicked puppy than he has in a while, and that’s saying something. hen is visibly still trying to work out what the clue in the medical inaccuracy was. chim wonders if he’s fit to lead this team at all, or if he’s just going to drive them even further into the ground

and then eddie just starts laughing. he laughs and laughs and one by one the rest of them join in. it’s ridiculous. it’s ridiculous how badly they did for a team of people who break into and out of rooms more regularly than the average population

but that was the problem, chim realizes—they’re all used to thinking outside the box. they’re all used to seeing a locked door or assessing a patient and quickly thinking of the easiest, fastest solution. they’re used to saving lives. they’ve built their bodies up in service of it. bobby taught them to get creative and assess a situation for what it was, not what it appeared to be, and that’s exactly what they all did. they spread out, played to their own strengths, and did technically get out of the room. if it had been an emergency, buck would have saved them

chim smiles warm and proud as he looks at hen doubled over, holding onto her knees; at buck and eddie in teary-eyed hysterics as they re-enact buck breaking down the door; at ravi, whose laughter has slowed but is still watching them with more fondness than he has ever shown before

chim looks at each of them, at all of them together, and he knows this team is going to be alright

hey do you ever think about the fact that 911 had an episode about eddie moving to texas and buck losing his Whole Entire Mind about it and sabotaging eddie’s house viewings and trying to make eddie jealous of a DOG (which worked btw) culminating in buck moving into eddie’s House. and then for some reason maddie was kidnapped????? but amidst all of that they still had buck freaking out about eddie moving to texas and then ultimately they said Goodbye in the Rain while acting like it was their first day ever having arms. and then they had an episode about eddie being gone and buck losing his Whole Entire Mind about it (eddie mention count: 15) and hooking up with his ex in eddie's house to distract (self-confessed) from Missing Eddie and then said ex called eddie The Competition and implied he was only okay with getting back together because eddie was Out Of The Way and then buck was like wait hold on ☝️ eddie is straight and also a Renter and then implied he has Feelings for eddie but not for said ex who he just slept with and then maddie BUCK'S SISTER asked if he was In Love With Eddie and buck got like, weirdly defensive and thou doth protest too much about it. and Then they had two episodes of eddie In Texas and half of that was spent on facetime to buck being partnerhusbands co-parenting chris with 800 miles between them. and then. well, then for Some reason they killed bobby??????? and amidst all of that buck and eddie had a partnerhusbands domestic about groceries that devolved into a partnerhusbands domestic about their respective grief and not being able to Talk to each other. and then eddie flew his son 800 miles from texas and invited aunt pepa so they could have a Family Dinner to show buck how loved he is and that he's Not Alone and like. then they had eddie and chris Move Back to LA and buck just. decide to move out. for some reason. Suspicious. if you ask me.
