Something else that doesn't sit right with me regarding Bloodborne fandom is the collective agreement to not put any individual thought into Eileen's design. 🤔 Like, I get that her English voice actress looks very fitting to her voice, but! voice actors are voicing! not face-claiming! She deserves effort, identity and details that make her stand out from other interpretations as much as other characters whose faces we haven't seen!
For example, Laurence interpretations are usually drawn as a pretty long-haired twink in Choir garb, but even then, it is always different hair color, little facial features, glasses or no glasses and so on! People can do the "hey I drew mine and my mutuals' Laurences :3" doodles and these guys will still stand out from each other, but I can't imagine this being done with Eileen. Even under the idea of making her specifically black, there are so many different ways to draw a black woman, but she usually just gets Ctrl+C Ctrl+V of the exact same face and the exact same hair.
I don't know. Personally I am just allergic to repetitiveness as an artist. In my opinion it is way more fire when everyone gives an interpretation something to make it their own instead of collectively sharing the same thing. Like, how people don't want to make their custom Eileens that would be the result of their own creative search. I don't get it
#Bloodborne#Fandoms can often rally around a headcanon and elevate it until it feels canon#It can be VERY random#But I'm so down for any interpretation of these characters

Archive Order - digitizing spellbook copies for record preservation. It’s a tedious process, but it is worth it in the end. Cainhurst is an old legacy though they are predated by the Pthumerians. Nearly all copies from their library had significant water damage. It must’ve been too cold for them to grow mold but the snow made it impossible to camp there for long without more planning.

I decided to play Bloodborne for "playthroughs don't let me stare at the architecture enough" reasons, which is problematic because I am perhaps the worst person in the entire known universe to try playing infamously hard games on account of 1) I have never used a Playstation and thus have to learn the buttons on top of the game mechanics, 2) I have never played anything more difficult than Wizard101, and 3) games where you do not progress the plot for long periods of time on account of respawning are specifically designed in a lab to drive me insane with frustration.
"Oh I'll just play the game myself, it won't matter that I conquer areas bit by bit because I'm really just here to stare at the props," Says Hubristic Area Woman About To Be Pummeled Continuously By First-Zone Mobs.

This is the only time youlll catch me talking about laurence but i think that maria, ludwig and laurence all work as parallels in the way they are all people put in a position of systemic power and they all work with that in very different way.
Maria is aware of that power and so uncomfortable with it that she becomes self flagellating over it, her guilt over her role is so grand that it takes over all the interactions she has with the people she has power over, and while she tries to work to view them on equal ground, it's never going to happen and the fact she can choose to do so and then turn her back to them out of guilt is a show of privilege in itself. Maria wants to be a savior but only repeatedly uses that power over others even when she believes it to be "for the best" (a concept that is only relative to her).
Ludwig is willfully unaware of the flaws in the system she's a part of, and in a way that is a kind of awareness, because when she asks you if the hunters became what she wanted them to be, she already knows the answer, all she wants is to have her status quo comforted, for anyone to tell her that everything is fine and she was right. She is not a "bad person", in fact is often seen as one of the most empathetic people in the upper grades, but that unwillingness to confront things is what gives her more power. Maria turns her back to things she know are there and she thinks about constantly, ludwig turns a blind eye to things she so badly wants to pretend arent there. Because im a sense it would mean that everything she did was for nothing, but also because it would mean she would have to question her faith, herself and her role in it.
Laurence is fully aware of his position and what is happening around it, and uses it to his own advantage freely. Maybe he has his shares of woes, but regardless of his personal feelings and failings, he orchestrates, and becomes the concept of the system itself. I dont think he is truly that all powerful as a vicar, but with the way theocracies work, his position is viewed by all as absolute, something about how the masses view him as opposed to what he has actual power over. And he knows how to use that power, even back then, with the hamlet and the vilebloods. I think its wrong to call him "evil", he just is a product of systemic violence and indulges in it, which just makes him a politician. viewing him as a true antagonist just undermines how much all of that "evil" is enforced by everyone in the church on a systemic level. I dont think maria or ludwig are heroes or "good people", i think theyre all fucked just by existing and the fact that they benefit directly from this system, regardless of how uncomfortable they are with it, is kind of the point of a lot of their character

Sorry, I'm still baffled ^-^'
Protestantism hates ornate art, the gothic aesthetic is based wholly in Catholicism and the Protestant perception of Catholicism as arcane, depraved, and decadent. People constantly tag Catholic churches as 'Bloodborne'.
Isn't Dark Souls all about the end of things, and is (imo) much less ornate than Bloodborne, thus making it much more protestant?
dark souls is catholic, bloodborn is protestant
#Raised Catholic in America#So Protestants here have NO DRIP#Like nothing about the American protestant (save the medical cult behavior) could be mistaken for having the save vibes as BB

I was planning out my fanfiction and started wondering- which FromSoft protagonist is the strongest one? And I'm talking about one who is at the end of their game, all leveled up, after defeating all bosses, maybe even on NG+ cycle.
Like I said, I'm talking end-game stats, all possible bosses defeated, after ending. I'm curious about your possible reasonings and choices.
(Added all the boys just for fun)
