did you read the underland chronicles as a child and forever gain an Understanding of war and poverty and regard all the older characters as “adults” and then looking back in horror realizing that they’re only 12, 14, 16, and wonder how the fuck this became children’s literature but also wonder why more people haven’t read it because it’s *so good* that it’s left handprints all over your fucking soul and you still can’t think about ares or pandora or thalia without crying and the picnic scene is emblazoned in your mind forever or are you normal

Underland Chronicles Fandom Week 2020

Get ready for the third annual Underland Chronicles Fandom Week, aka TUC Week!

What is TUC Week? TUC Week is a fandom-driven celebration of the series we all love. Each day, we will provide a different prompt (listed below), and you can create content around that theme, interpreting it however you choose! The community is the engine behind making this event a success, and with your participation, we will make this a great week!

When’s it happening? The event will take place from August 17 through August 23.

What should I make? How else do I contribute? You can make whatever you want! Any medium you can think of is encouraged, including fanart, fics, fanmixes, photo sets, literary analysis, and poetry. And yes—even memes are allowed. Don’t be afraid—just post! It can be the littlest thing, and it still makes the event all the better. You can also contribute through supporting your friends’ content and just being an active presence during the week!

How do I make sure my work gets included as part of the event? Please tag your work as “#underland chronicles fandom week” and/or “#tuc week” and this blog will track both tags. You are also encouraged to tag this account. Feel free to use our submission feature if you’d prefer, too. This blog will chronicle all submissions, and will also provide reminders leading up to the event and answers to any questions you might have.

Can I only participate if I have something to post about everyday? Nope! You can post as much or as little as you’re comfortable with.

What are the prompts? Each day will have its own specific prompt, as mentioned earlier. These prompts are all themes, motifs, or sayings derived from the series, and you can feel free to interpret them in whatever way you want, however literally or figuratively. If you’re having trouble understanding or interpreting a prompt, feel free to message this blog or send an ask. A little more on AU Day and Free Day… AU Day is a day for you to come up with your own AU and make content based around that. It could be as similar or different from canon as you like. Coffee shop AU? Go for it. AU where only one plot point is different? Go for it. Free Day is what it sounds like––it’s a day where you can make any TUC content you’d like without any sort of guiding theme.

Do you still need help with the event? You can feel free to join our organizational Discord here, but the most important thing you can do now is help spread information about the event, and of course get started on the content you plan to release!

The Underland Chronicles is a series of 5 books written by Suzanne Collins, who also did The Hunger Games

So Disney might be rebooting Percy Jackson and I think its mostly thanks to the Percy Jackson musical so we just need to come up with a TUC musical, have it go mainstream, and then eventually we'll get a chance for a movie or tv show of our own!!

theres something special about being in a small fandom.

in larger fandoms you can express controversial (but true) opinions, and most ppl still wont know.

Honestly? I can't imagine finding out about it any other way. It's just reading this post forcibly reminded me that there are people who think ripred is sexy and I had conveniently forgotten that. It feels like The Game and now that I'm thinking about it I've lost.
